The Yellow Rabbit is the main antagonist of Into the Pit, the first story of the book of the same name, as well as the video game adaptation of the story. He is a supernatural entity that stalks Oswald during his visits to Freddy Fazbear's Pizza and eventually follows him home.
Physical Appearance[]
In the story, the Yellow Rabbit is described as a yellow version of Bonnie with fuzzy yellow fur and big paws and feet. It's currently unclear if he's an animatronic, a living creature, or both. The Yellow Rabbit has blank and dead eyes that "didn't feel like a living creature's eyes."[1] He usually has an unchanging grin, but he can unhinge his jaw and open it incredibly wide to reveal double rows of sharp fangs. The Yellow Rabbit is wearing a purple bow tie. After his death, he's nothing more than a dirty, empty yellow rabbit costume.
On the cover and in the unused illustration, his head is large and body rotund, similar to Nightmare Fredbear's. His eyes are blue, with organic material surrounding them. Inside of his grinning jaw are huge square-ish teeth. He also has two black buttons under his purple bow tie. On the cover, a black blood is leaking out of his right eye socket.
History[]
When Oswald visits Freddy Fazbear's Pizza for the first time, he meets two kids named Chip and Mike who invite him to join them at Skee-Ball. On the way they pass somebody in a yellow rabbit suit, but since nobody else is seemingly paying attention to them Oswald doesn't say anything. The next day, Chip and Mike invite Oswald to join them in eating a pizza they just ordered. On the way to their table, they once again pass the man in the same yellow rabbit suit standing in a corner, still as a statue. Chip and Mike either don't see him or ignore him, so Oswald tries to ignore him as well, but still questions why he would be acting creepy if he was an employee.
On Oswald's last day of summer break he returns to Freddy's to find it in chaos. Worried for Chip and Mike, Oswald makes his way through the crowd and comes across the man in the yellow bunny costume, questioning if there even was a man in the suit. The bunny opens a door labeled "Private" and goes inside, with Oswald following the rabbit down a long and dark corridor. The rabbit stops in front of a door with a sign reading "Party Room" and beckons for Oswald to come inside. Once inside, Oswald discovers half a dozen dead kids lined up against the wall wearing Freddy Fazbear birthday party hats. He knows the rabbit is responsible and wanted Oswald to see his handiwork, and the yellow rabbit lunges for Oswald as he runs away. The rabbit runs after, getting so close that his fuzzy paw brushes Oswald's back, and Oswald escapes through the ball pit.
When Oswald's dad leans over the ball pit, a pair of fuzzy yellow arms reach out and pulls him under. A cartoonish struggle between the two happen, with Oswald's dad feet emerging and disappearing, then a pair of big fuzzy yellow feet doing the same. Eventually the yellow rabbit emerges, adjusts his bow tie, brushed off his front, and turns to Oswald. Oswald backs away but the rabbit appears beside him, its arms firmly around Oswald's shoulders as it guides him towards the exit. When Oswald looks to Jeff for help, he simply says a farewell. The rabbit opens the passenger door of Oswald dad's car and pushes Oswald in, then buckles its seat belt and starts the car. Oswald tries escaping but the bunny activates the power lock from the driver's side. The bunny says nothing as it drives all the way to Oswald's ranch-style house, obeying traffic laws. Once the doors unlock, Oswald attempt to run but the bunny is standing in front of him and drags him by the arm to the front door, using the key around Oswald's neck to unlock the door. The rabbit then shoves him inside and blocks the exit.
Their cat, Jinx, wanders into the living room and gets scared upon seeing the rabbit. The bunny lets Oswald back away and flee to his room, where Jinx is hiding under the bed. The bunny then stands outside Oswald's door for a while before going to the kitchen and making a chicken potpie for Oswald, leaving it on the stove. When Oswald's mom arrives home she finds it lying on the bed in her bedroom watching TV, but she sees it as her husband. The next day, the yellow thing sits across from Oswald from the breakfast table and Oswald's mom pours it a cup of coffee, setting it down in front of it. Oswald realizes that everyone sees the yellow thing as his father, so he plays along and gets ready for school. The yellow thing drives Oswald to school, with a jogging neighbor waving at it. At school, Oswald tells it that he plans to take the bus home instead.
When Oswald returns home, he sees the yellow thing vacuuming the living room. Oswald plays along and does his chores, then tells the yellow thing he's going to chill out in his room before dinner. Later, the rabbit bakes a frozen pizza to a pleasing golden brown and pours two glasses of fruit punch that Oswald likes. It appears in his doorway and beckons for him, leading him to the kitchen. As Oswald eats, the yellow thing sits across from him in silence. When Oswald finishes he gets a glass of milk and returns to his room, with the yellow thing watching him the entire time. As Oswald is sneaking out, he sees the yellow thing lying on its back on his parents' bed, seemingly staring at the ceiling.
At Jeff's Pizza, Oswald finds his father unconscious in the ball pit. The yellow thing appears behind Oswald and wraps its arms around him. Oswald gets his right arm free enough to jab his elbow into the yellow thing's midsection, letting him loose. The thing blocks the exit to the pit, and Oswald charges at it with his head down. His head-but knocks the yellow thing into the ropes and netting surrounding the ball pit, but it quickly rights itself and lungs toward Oswald with its arms outstretched. It pushes Oswald against the wall of the pit and unhinges its jaws incredibly wide, revealing double rows of sharp fangs. The rabbit lunges for Oswald's throat but he blocks it with his arm, and he uses his good arm to punch it hard in the face before its fangs can pierce deeper. The thing lurches toward Oswald's dad with its jaws wide open, but Oswald elbows it aside and moves between it and his father. He then uses the netting to bounce off and clamber onto the yellow thing's back, hitting its head with his fists and scratching at its eyes. The rabbit stumbles back into the netting and ropes, then grabs Oswald's arms and throws him hard off its shoulders and into the pit.
While shaking Oswald off, the yellow thing gets tangled in the ropes and netting lining the ball pit, with a rope looping around its neck. The rope is securely tied to a metal rod at the top of the ball pit, and the yellow thing is hanged by it. It grasps at the rope and opens its mouth as if gasping for breath, but no sound comes out. The yellow thing aims its blank stare at Oswald, and after a few more seconds of struggling it goes still. Oswald blinks and sees nothing but a dirty, empty yellow rabbit costume hanging from the rope.
Behavior (Video Game)[]
In the video game adaption of Five Nights at Freddy's: Into the Pit, the Yellow Rabbit serves as the main antagonist, persisting as the main threat of the game. Besides Bonnie, he is the only animatronic in the game capable of killing Oswald.
Throughout the game, the Yellow Rabbit will roam around both Oswald's House and the Pizzeria in search of the player, similar to the Glamrock Animatronics in Five Nights at Freddy's: Security Breach. If it and Oswald are in the same room, the music will change to a more dramatic tone until it leaves, at which the music will change back to its neutral track. If the Yellow Rabbit is walking towards a door with the intent of walking through it, the door will begin to slightly shake up and down to signal that the Rabbit is going to enter it. If the player is spotted by the Yellow Rabbit, it will give chase. Unlike Security Breach, where it is possible to outrun a pursuing threat, he will chase until the player has either been caught or entered a hiding spot, incrementally speeding up the longer the player runs. If the player tries to hide while the Yellow Rabbit is close behind, they will instantly be caught. Most hiding spots in the game require players to complete hiding minigames, and failure to do so will result in an immediate jumpscare from the Yellow Rabbit. The Yellow Rabbit also appears in several scripted sequences throughout the game, forcing the players to successfully complete quick time events to escape. To keep the Yellow Rabbit out of the way, players can use distractions to lure him. However, If the game is played on Terrifying or Nightmare difficulty, the Yellow Rabbit will destroy noisemakers after they're used.
In contrast to the original story, where the Yellow Rabbit appears to try and pass itself as human whenever possible, it acts quite animalistic in the video game, constantly growling and groaning. Also unlike his depiction in the story, he speaks, delivering distorted but audible dialogue when active.

- As revealed in the final Stitchwraith Stinger, the ball pit contains the memories of people who had died in agonizing ways, many by the hands of Eleanor. Since Oswald's experience at Freddy Fazbear's Pizza isn't literal, shown by the tokens manifesting in his pockets, it can be assumed that he is actually living through the collective memory of the pizzeria's victims. Under this, the Yellow Rabbit would be a monstrous manifestation of William Afton created by the warped memories of his victims, which is why the yellow rabbit is an organic creature rather than a man in a suit. In the series, when something is possessed by or made of agony it's represented by a black liquid similar to blood. The Yellow Rabbit shows "black blood" coming out of the eye on the cover, further supporting the idea of it being the manifestation of the victim's memories.
- Alternatively, he could be possessed by the very same agony that had been infecting most of the objects throughout the Fazbear Frights universe after the death of William Afton at the Fazbear Entertainment Distribution Center.
- In the video game, the Yellow Rabbit appears to get angry after viewing the Strange Photo (A photo which is very clearly implied to depict Henry Emily and William Afton) on Night 5, further connecting the creature to Afton.
- This story could potentially be another case of illusion discs being used. Only Oswald saw the Yellow Rabbit for what he really was, which could be because he had seen him in the 1985 Freddy Fazbear's Pizza. Every other person saw the Yellow Rabbit as Oswald's father, because that's what they expected to see. Jinx, Oswald's cat, also saw the Yellow Rabbit for what he was because Jinx has no expectations as to what will walk through the door.

Fazbear Frights[]
- Curiously, Yellow Rabbit's design was changed in the Fazbear Frights Graphic Novel Collection Vol. 1 and Five Nights at Freddy's: Return to the Pit.
- In the graphic novel, his bow tie and buttons are now red. Possibly, that change was made to make him more fitting to the design of Spring Bonnie from the graphic novel adaptations of the novel trilogy.
- In the cover of Return to the Pit, his blue eyes are now yellow.
- However, the cover of Return to the Pit was updated, changing his eyes back to blue and more closely resembling his game version.
- Before the The Freddy Files Ultimate Edition and the game adaptation officially named the creature "Yellow Rabbit", fans referred to the being as "Spring Bonnie" due to it having a very similar appearance to the suit of the same name that was used by William Afton to commit his murders.
- In contradiction to this, Youtooz names their plush of the character "Spring Bonnie."
- The Five Nights at Freddy's film also refers to its Spring Bonnie as "The Yellow Rabbit."
- In response to a fan's claim that Spring Bonnie's black fluid on the cover of the book was meant to be blood, LadyFiszi corrected them and said it is intentionally supposed to look like "black fluid."[2]
Five Nights at Freddy's: Into the Pit[]
- Yellow Rabbit has official voice lines in the game, however his voice actor is unknown, it could be Patrick Hickey Jr. as he is credited as "Voice Actor" in the game.
- The Yellow Rabbit currently has the most unique jumpscare animations across the entire franchise, having 10 possible animations.
