---Chapter 2: Obscurity---
It was a couple of weeks after Henry had decided he was going to take on the case of his daughter’s murder himself, and he was going to all sorts of places. Malls, stores, zoos, parks, anywhere near where she was last seen, asking many people if they had seen anything suspicious on the night Charlie died. But no answers seemed to lead him anywhere, just in a big circle. A corkboard was filled with images of suspects, newspaper clippings, and a million other things, with a red line of string connecting them all together. Various notebooks were filled with detailed analysis of the case records, which Henry secretly gained a copy of in order to investigate his daughter’s death.
As he stared at the corkboard, Henry had a thought. He could call William and ask him if he wanted to help investigate the police warehouse for any clues. Henry knew what he was doing was surely illegal, but it had to be done. He had to know who his daughter’s killer was. Henry hadn’t gotten any leads so far, and maybe if he investigated the police warehouse, he could find something there. Henry rang up William. “Hey, Henry, how’s it going?” William had replied. “Oh, the usual, same old, same old. It’s going…..okay. Just half expected Charlie to come running to me saying dad over and over again.” Henry replied. “Yeah, you know, you get lonely without children around to comfort you.” William stated. “Look, I’ve been thinking about this. I want you to come over and help me sneak into the police warehouse where they store all the evidence for cases. I want to find my daughter’s killer, you know?” Henry sighed.
A pause filled the room Henry was in, and then William, somewhat reluctantly, replied, “Yeah, I can help. Let me know what time. Bye Henry.” William hung up the phone before Henry could say anything else. A moment passed, and Henry sat down his phone. Tonight was going to be an interesting night, but nonetheless, he was going to be satisfied once he found something to lead him in the right direction. Henry sat down his phone on the desk in his office, and went downstairs to grab himself a drink of water. Or something. He didn’t know what he wanted. He got his drink and went back to his room. It was 7:00pm, and Henry was outside of the police station. He had driven there early just in case William decided to show up before 7:30pm, the time they were going to the warehouse. He turned up the radio in his car, patiently waiting for William to show up. Henry leaned back in his seat and sighed. But at last, William Afton pulled up into the parking lot in his signature purple Chevy Impala. Henry got out of his car, and walked over to William, who, seemingly, had the head of the Spring Bonnie costume they made in the backseat of his car. Henry thought it was a bit strange, but he shrugged it off and told William about his plans.
Whatever happened in that warehouse, whether good or bad, was going to change his life forever, or lead him in an endless circle, chasing the cries of his daughter, which seemed so near, yet so out of reach. And whoever he found out was the killer, he was prepared for whatever came his way.
