This is a list of unused and removed content related to Five Nights at Freddy's: Security Breach.
As confirmed by Steel Wool Studios' executive producer Ray McCaffrey, there are content plans for the game's future updates, which would re-implement most cut content back to the game or in the RUIN DLC.[1]
Decompiled Content[]
Unused Features[]
Extras Menu[]
An unused Extras Menu similar to that in past games can be found, containing tabs for Survival Mode, Minigames, Office Games, Character Gallery, DLC, and Credits.
Survival Mode[]
Survival Mode is a mode of gameplay where difficulty, hour length, and the number of lives Gregory has can be adjusted. The security levels of various rooms in the game are raised higher, and Party Bots are placed around every major area of the facility, forcing Gregory to search for Party Passes. Prize Box spawning is randomized per map seed, though the placements often clip into items or hover in the air to indicate changes to the map. A toggleable option for spawning all boxes at once can be enabled, but this will make the game lag tremendously. The Party Bots also guard locations where removed rooms and tunnels were taken out, leaving their placements artifacts of an old map. Many out of order doors also become accessible in this mode, including one connecting Vanny's hideout in Fazer Blast to the back room in Bonnie Bowl. Vanessa spawns around 12:10 AM and starts roaming around to look for Gregory, and becomes Vanny if the Vanny Meter fills, although occasionally she starts moving faster and runs off instead. At 12:50 AM, the Daycare Attendant spawns to enforce the time limit, but as the mode is unused, prize boxes, Glamrock Freddy, and recharge stations cannot be interacted with, so it will always kill the player at 1 AM. Gregory spawns in the first office at the start of the game, but cannot move unless a cheat is enabled to let him move, and Glamrock Chica lurks behind the door he entered to enter this office, attacking him if he does not get away in time.
The PS4 pre-release build had more functionality from the mode, including Freddy's instructions, and some boxes containing plushies which jumpscare the player when opened.
Interestingly, the February 2022 update fixed Survival Mode to let Gregory move normally, but other aspects are still unusable.
Character Gallery[]
This would allow the players to view the models of several characters and some of the arcade cabinets. It was removed in the February 2022 update.
Time and Difficulty[]
Strings of code for features such as changing difficulty (Easy, Medium, and Nightmare) can be found, along side code suggesting time passed as the player played, instead of the hardcoded time progression found currently. This is currently a mechanic in the Survival Mode, where the difficulty and time length can be set before entering. The text mentions WARNING - Time does not stop when looking at the Faz-Watch., suggesting that time would have moved dynamically regardless of progress at some point in development.
Unused Entities[]
Frozen Glamrock Endo[]
A frozen variant of a Glamrock Endo is located in the files. Although some body parts were found in-game, the complete model goes unused except for parts of it found inside a box in the first security office. There is also an unused side quest related to this endo, as suggested by the side dialogue between Gregory and Glamrock Freddy:
- Gregory: "That endo's frozen solid. It's holding some sort of camera."
"Freddy, it's cold in here."
"Freddy, it's freezing in here..." - Glamrock Freddy: "Perhaps if you adjusted the heat in the boiler room, you could melt it. The boiler room is down in the Utildors. I will mark it on your map. However, I do not recommend you go there."
- Gregory: "Hot! Too hot!"
Anthropomorphic Test Device S.T.A.F.F. Bot[]
A S.T.A.F.F. Bot that likely was meant to be from Roxy Raceway, being used for testing race karts.
Nanny S.T.A.F.F. Bot[]
The Nanny S.T.A.F.F. Bot is a S.T.A.F.F. Bot dressed like a nanny, with blue hair. Like the Magician Bot, the fixed version is unused while a broken version is found in-game as one of the deactivated S.T.A.F.F. Bots. The original model was recovered from the PS4 pre-release build.
Server S.T.A.F.F. Bot[]
An early trailer showed a S.T.A.F.F. Bot with a sombrero hat serving food in El Chip's, but this S.T.A.F.F. Bot is nowhere to be found in the final release.
Mime S.T.A.F.F. Bot[]
An unused S.T.A.F.F. Bot that resembled a mime, it likely would've performed in the Daycare Theater at some point.
Golf Player S.T.A.F.F. Bot[]
An unused S.T.A.F.F. Bot that would most likely have been used in Monty's Gator Golf, given its resemblance to a golf player. The model for it was eventually recovered from the PS4 pre-release build.
Sales Bot[]
A S.T.A.F.F. Bot which would have sold balloons around the Pizzaplex. A broken S.T.A.F.F. Bot found near some balloons may represent one, but all dialogue for it is unused.
Unused Locations[]
Utilidors[]
Several hallways can be found in the files that would allow the player to travel between areas of the Mega Pizzaplex. These Utilidors were accessible through the currently unused level 10 security doors. These doors would connect Rockstar Row to Roxy Raceway, a door between Roxy Raceway and Fazer Blast, and a door from the Superstar Daycare to Monty's Gator Golf. Some remnants of the connections between the rooms do survive in the final game, as Monty can roam the Superstar Daycare when summoned by a Security Bot, and one mission sees Gregory sneak through a back area of Roxy Raceway to reach Rockstar Row.
However, despite not being in the game, the Utilidors appear in the Tales from the Pizzaplex story Bobbiedots, Part 1, the third story of Tales from the Pizzaplex 4: Submechanophobia, where the Roxy Raceway Utilidor is referenced, and Bobbiedots, Part 2, the third story of Tales from the Pizzaplex 5: The Bobbiedots Conclusion, where the Utilidor leading through the Loading Docks and into the Sewers is directly mentioned.
Boiler room[]
Cut area located in the Daycare side of basement 1 and partially basement 2. The room was made out off a large central area with various large pipes coming out of the ground, and a catwalk going through the whole room.
Fazcade Hive Room[]
An unused Fazcade room with beehive decals was found in the game files. It is unknown why this was scrapped in the final game.
Hallways[]
There are several more hallways that would connect parts of the Mega Pizzaplex, presumably in the place of the current elevator system in the game.
El-Chips connected to Arcade[]
Seen in the second trailer for Security Breach, El Chip's was originally going to be connected into the Arcade, Presumably due to technical issues, it has been scrapped and has a corridor in between to act as a loading screen.
Bonnie Bowl's Old Design[]
Seen in a trailer for Security Breach, there was formerly regular STAFF Bots being used in the Ice cream parlor, before being replaced with the Attendant STAFF Bots in the final version. Along with this, in the files, there was also a window that would overlook Roxy Raceway. It was presumably cut due to technical issues.
Hallway connected to Atrium, Fazcade, and Lobby Entrance[]
There was originally going to be a hallway which would connect Atrium and Lobby Entrance to Fazcade, but presumably due to technical issues, it was scrapped and Fazcade was moved up to the top floor.
Unused Minigames[]
Bonnie Bowl Minigame[]
A barebones bowling minigame can be found in Bonnie Bowl, with very little polished features, suggesting it was cut early in development. It was cut along with the early Bonnie Bowl in the February 2022 update.
Expanded Monty Golf AR-Cade Machine[]
An extended version of Monty Golf AR-Cade includes double the golf holes, and improved lighting on many of the existing holes. It appears in a better state than the currently released version of the minigame. The unused holes that didn't appear in-game are now present in it's DLC RUIN.
Chica's Feeding Frenzy[]
A minigame hinted at in-game via a dufflebag, the arcade cabinet can even be found in Roxy Raceway. However, it is not playable in-game. Using hacking to access it reveals a minigame where Glamrock Chica shoots projectiles at food items. The minigame appears to be very unpolished. It was ultimately removed in the February 2022 update, only to return in RUIN, where it was finally implemented in-game for the first time and massively refined.
Roxy Raceway Minigame Mission[]
There was a minigame mission that would trigger in Roxy Raceway after placing the head unto the Driver Assist Bot. This minigame would have been similar to the Pizzabot's pizza bake minigame, but Gregory must drive around the racetrack (with the Driver Assist Bot's assistance). In the game's initial release, the minigame was not used and instead skips to Roxy's decommission cutscene.
Multiple assets related to this mission were found. All that is left were coding scripts, some UI graphics, and the Driver Assist Bot's dialogue that teaches the player how to drive the kart. Through hacking, it is possible to spawn in the kart and drive it around the Pizzaplex, and if it strikes an enemy animatronic, they are shown ragdolling (though the jumpscare will still happen).
Unused Collectibles[]
A huge strings of unused inventory collectible items can be found, with the placeholder graphic for their icons:
Equipment[]
- Helpy - Possible toy based on Helpy. As a quest item, its purpose was unknown.
- Nightmare Helpy - Possible toy based on Helpy's nightmare variant. As a quest item, its purpose was unknown.
Food[]
- Baking Bag - A baking bag supposedly used as ingredients for Mega Pizzaplex meals. It also has a description: "A bag full of everything you need to make a pizza. Fazbear not responsible for injuries if not used for pizza baking"
- Fizzy Faz Monthly Mystery Mix - A food ingredient similar to Monty Mystery Mix.
Clothes[]
- Strange Cube - Possible placeholder item.
- Cube of Testing - Possible placeholder item.
- Thingamabob - Possible placeholder item.
- Crash Coin - A coin.
- Wallet - A wallet presumably filled with currency.
- Faz Frost - The company's secret frosting formula. Due to development oversight, this item was labelled in clothes instead of food. It also has a description: "Fazbear entertainment secret frosting formula"
- Uncommon Item 12 - "Rare" placeholder item.
- Rare Item 5-9 - Series of "rare" placeholder items.
- Ultra Rare Item 1-9 - Series of "ultra rare" placeholder items.
Trophies[]
- Fazer Tag Champion Badge - A reward item possibly obtained for completing the Fazer Blast tag game.
Unused Subtitles and Dialogue[]
Starting Intro[]
Alternate subtitle strings reveal that there are multiple lines of dialogue that were changed in order to remove direct mention of injury and death, and opt for implication of such. The voice files for most of these strings were eventually recovered from the PS4 pre-release build of the game.[2]
Unused Subtitle | Replacement Subtitle |
---|---|
Gregory: "I don't know who she is, but she's gonna kill me." | Gregory: "I don't know who she is, but she's trying to get me." |
Glamrock Freddy: "I am detecting blood. You are injured." | Glamrock Freddy: "I feel you are broken." |
Glamrock Freddy: "Your arm is cut badly. I will take you to a first aid station." | Glamrock Freddy: "No, I feel that something is wrong. I am taking you to the first aid station." |
Daycare Attendant[]
The Daycare Attendant, in both Sun and Moon form, originally meant to say "I'm putting you in time out!" in an angrier tone. While it is unknown where this dialogue clip could trigger, it was seemingly scrapped earlier in development.
Roxanne Wolf[]
Roxanne Wolf has cut dialogue for what likely could have been the racing game, as she counts down for the race, and her reaction to Gregory removing her eyes, in which she acts enraged and demands her eyes be brought back to her.
Glamrock Chica[]
Chica has additional dialogue for finding Gregory that was scrapped, as well as alternate takes for her smelling pizza in the trash compactor. Some of her clucks when stunned or lured are also unused. She also originally had the voice of a valley girl, but this was scrapped and replaced with her current voice.
Glamrock Freddy[]
Glamrock Freddy has additional unused dialogue for various purposes. One is him stating that past models of Freddy were dangerous, but he himself isn't. Another is a loudspeaker broadcast of his voice meant for Fazer Blast, similar to Glamrock Chica's, Montgomery Gator's, and Roxanne Wolf's automated voices for Mazercise, Monty's Gator Golf, and Roxy Raceway respectively. He would also have commented awkwardly about his own loudspeaker voice. Freddy also has unused dialogue for recognizing Gregory from somewhere, dialogue used for the scrapped boiler room mission, dialogue for when he tells Gregory to find the button in his room and outright states he is programmed not to notice it, and other dialogue related to the endings in-game, such as him stating his finger lighter is for candles and creme brulee. One voiceline also has him reveal the giant tanks in the basement area are actually bases containing Fizzy Faz. He also gives audio referring to several missions that lack contextual audio, or other scrapped missions.
In addition to these voicelines, Freddy also has unused subtitles that show him sounding hurt when talking to Gregory, with the possibility that these could've been from a moment when Freddy became an enemy later on, as well as unused subtitles for trying to tell Chica, Roxy, and Monty to resist Vanny's control. These voicelines were eventually found in the PS4 pre-release build of the game, revealing Freddy to use a searching tone in his voice similar to the other Glamrock animatronics, while the pleading with them is believed to be from a moment suggesting they attacked Freddy in one ending.
Gregory[]
Related to the above cut mention of his arm bleeding, Gregory has a scrapped line of dialogue in which he exclaims about his arm, suggesting he would have spoken it at the moment he injured it. He also has an unused voiceline of himself crying. Gregory also has dialogue relating to going after Roxy, and dialogue of scenes from the endings, such as finding Princess Quest 3, shouting to disassemble Vanny, and saying an ironic remark about her "Are you having fun yet?" comment. Many of the audio files also provide context for several missions.
Vanessa[]
The majority of Vanessa's audio is unused, including dialogue where she hopes she can find Gregory before something bad happens to him, suggesting she has struggled to save children in the past. She also at one point calls directly to Monty, Chica, and Roxy. Most of the unused dialogue would've matched her portrayal in the PS5 trailer, compared to her more aggressive dialogue in the final release. Most of her unused audio likely also would've played in a sequence where she was a playable character. Although Gregory cannot obtain the Fazerblaster or Faz Camera until much later, long after Vanessa's only enemy encounter in Rockstar Row, hacking to spawn either weapon in Gregory's inventory and using them on her reveals she can be stunned by the weapons and has an animation for it.
Vanny[]
Vanny has unused villainous laughter she would most likely have spoken as she roamed around in the Pizzaplex, and another line of her saying in a mischievous tone "I have the second key.", which was likely scrapped in early development due to the different voice actor along with an unused idle animation. Vanny also has a variety of unused animations recovered from the PS4 pre-release build for moving around, including walking, running, crawling, and doing cartwheels.
Unused Assets and Mechanics[]
Vanny Meter[]
Vanny, as the game's main antagonist, was intended to be a much more active enemy, but her spawning mechanic was cut since Summer 2021 before the game's initial release, first thought to be a bug.[3] For now, this feature can be only used with a debug tool. Ray McCaffrey said that there were plans to add this feature back in one of the future update patches, but since then Steel Wool has come out and said that Security Breach is complete. Fans discovered that if Vanessa is active, she will become Vanny when the meter is full.
Burntrap's Role[]
Originally, Burntrap was to be given a bigger role. In the files, he has an unused data chase sequence as if he were meant to have a second fight stage after the monitor office fight. He even had a death animation, seen here. From the game's initial release, all of the aforementioned data assets end up unused, as setting Burntrap on fire for the last time during the office fight will skip to the ending cutscene.
He also has a series of unused audio sounds ranging from chain noises to laughter, seen here. Two of his laughter can be heard in-game.
HAL 9000[]
Strangely enough, there is a cut texture of HAL 9000, the artificial intelligence of the movie 2001: A Space Odyssey. It is unknown why this was made or cut.
Pre-Release Content[]
Trailer Voicelines[]
Vanny, Glamrock Freddy, Roxanne Wolf, Vanessa, and 1-2 unknown character(s) have voicelines that were only heard in the trailers. The unknown character(s) was confirmed to be voiced by Matthew Curtis.[4]
First Trailer[]
- Vanny: "Gregory, your friends are worried about you. They're here with me. Please come out. Gregory, I may have lost my temper earlier but it was just a glitch. It won't happen again. It's been such a difficult day for all of us. Why don't you come out and we can play a game together. It won't happen again. It was just a glitch."
- Glamrock Freddy: "Gregory, be still... I think she's found us."
Nvidia Showcase[]
- Vanny: "Gregory. It's getting late. Let's get you home. And put you to bed."
- Roxanne Wolf: "I see you."
Second Trailer[]
- Unknown: "When I first found you, you were nothing, you were small, pathetic. But now, you are more. Are you ready?"
- Vanessa: "Gregory, we can get you out of here. You and me together. They won't stop hunting you. None of them will stop hunting you. We have to get you out by morning."
- Unknown: "You will do as I say. You will bring me what I want. And if you fail me, then you will, both of you burn!"
- Vanessa: "There is more going on here than you realize."
Delivery S.T.A.F.F. Bot[]
From the tech demo trailer, there was another S.T.A.F.F. Bot variant wearing a sombrero and would have delivered meals at El Chip's restaurant area.
RUIN[]
Headless Freddy eye[]
Originally, Headless Freddy was supposed to have an eye (which remains of can still be found on his texture). This was later reimplemented exclusively in the Nintendo Switch port of the game.
Old Sinkhole[]
As seen in the whitebox map, the old Sinkhole section of the DLC was meant to be much smaller in scale. The Tangle tunnel at the beginning of the area presumably lead straight into one of the burner rooms, with the M.X.E.S. computer room being originally located on the left side of the opposite burner room (presumably connected to it via a hole in the brick wall).
Old Mimic lair[]
The original version of the room in which the Mimic resides in is vastly different to its retail version. It features the original animatronics performing on stage (presumably placeholders) and a table with a piece of a cake on top of it (reminiscent of the Pizza Party minigame).
Original Entity design[]
Originally, the Entity was planned to have a completely different appearance than the one it has in the game. It was revealed that it was planned to be a grotesque humanoid rabbit-like creature instead of an augmented entity.
Original versions of the security nodes[]
In the game files, it was revealed that the security nodes were supposed to appear more organic instead of the digital avatar heads.
Lion mascot[]
A mascot suit that is based on a lion was supposed to be in the game, specifically in the Mimic's lair, but ended up being unused. Despite this, some parts of the suit are used to make the Mimic's costume and the suit itself is found in the game files.
Trivia[]
- This marks the biggest amount of cut content in the entire Five Nights at Freddy's franchise.
- The Magician Bot and Comedy Bot's unique model were once unimplemented and left in the files of the game's initial release. Both models were finally re-added for v1.07.
- Freddy's unused loudspeaker for Fazer Blast, his bombastic greeting for visitors of the Pizzaplex in the elevator, and sheepish remarks for both of these were added back in another update.
- The unknown entity who speaks in a menacing and angry tone in one of the trailers is theorized to be William Afton taunting and controlling Vanessa to follow his lead and do as he says.
