This is a timeline for the core Five Nights at Freddy's series, which primarily takes place in Utah.
Wednesday, September 23 - Monday, December 21: Fall Fest 1970 occurs.
1979[]
The events of The Mimic story occur. Edwin Murray creates the Mimic to be a companion for his son, David. David is struck by a van and dies, leading to Edwin destroying the Mimic.
The events of Five Nights at Freddy's: Secret of the Mimic occur.
1980s[]
1983[]
Due to the success of Fredbear's Family Diner, a sister location is opened in the form of Freddy Fazbear's Pizza, featuring Freddy Fazbear, Bonnie the Rabbit, Chica the Chicken, and Foxy the Pirate animatronics in addition to their springlock predecessors. An additional animated television series titled "Fredbear & Friends!" is also released.
The Crying Child might have seen something potentially leading to his fear of the Fredbear's animatronics. Not to mention that his older brother significantly heightened this fear by relentlessly bullying and tormenting him because of it.
Crying Child is jumpscared by his older brother from behind the television.
3 days before Crying Child's birthday.
Crying Child is forcibly left behind at Fredbear's Family Diner by his older brother, where he get a glimpse of William Afton helping an employee in a back room. However, he is too horrified by the mascots to do anything.
2 days before Crying Child's birthday.
Crying Child leaves Fredbear's Family Diner, interacts with some other kids on the way home, and is jumpscared by his older brother again.
The day before Crying Child's birthday.
Crying Child is locked in a back room of Fredbear's Family Diner.

Crying Child's older brother, along with his friends, forcefully carry him towards the two animatronics with it eventually escalating to where they shoved him in Fredbear's mouth, causing The Bite of '83 and the closure of Fredbear's Family Diner. He is taken to the hospital, where his older brother apologizes, before dying.
After the Bite, Fredbear's Family Diner most likely shuts down. It's speculated that after its shutdown the diner was later renovated into JR's or Circus Baby's Pizza World
Friday, September 23 - Thursday, December 22: Fall Fest 1983 occurs.
Charlotte Emily is locked and killed outside an Fazbear Entertainment establishment. Her soul ends up possessing the Security Puppet which was tasked with looking after her.
After 1983[]
William Afton creates the Funtime animatronics in order to kill or capture kids.
Circus Baby's Pizza World opens for one day as a test run. Elizabeth Afton alone goes up to Circus Baby before being killed by the animatronic. The pizzeria is closed and Elizabeth's death is covered up with gas leaks.
Five more kids are killed in the new and improved pizzeria, causing the building to go into lockdown.
Jeremy is moved to the day shift.
The Bite of '87 happens. The victim survives, but the incident caused the ban of the animatronics' free-roam mode being active in the daytime.
Fritz Smith is hired for one night before being fired.
The Toy animatronics are scrapped.
Post-1987[]
Ralph works the nightshift at Freddy Fazbear's Pizza, but is killed on his fifth night of his final week and stuffed into an animatronic costume backstage.
On his 7th Night, Mike is fired due to tampering with the animatronics, general unprofessionalism, and odor.
Freddy Fazbear's Pizza closes it's doors.
William Afton asks Michael to put Elizabeth back together.
William Afton returns to Freddy's to dismantle the animatronics for unknown reasons leading to the release of the spirits from the suits. The spirits confront him and William enters the Spring Bonnie suit trying to scare them leading to his death and becoming Springtrap.
Michael Afton works at Circus Baby's Entertainment and Rental. Funtime animatronics assemble into Ennard and escape using Michael's body.
2010s (Presumably)[]
Millie climbs into an old Funtime Freddy animatronic stomach hatch and is killed by it.
Oswald jumps into a ball pit and ends up in the "past," where he runs into the Yellow Rabbit. Then, the rabbit drags Oswald's father away and Oswald saves him over the course of 5 nights.
The Franchisee becomes the manager and owner of Freddy Fazbear's Pizza Place. He sets up a pizzeria, buys equipment and animatronics, and also does various work in the office. At the end of every day (except Friday), he picks up the animatronics (Molten Freddy, Scraptrap, Scrap Baby, Lefty) from the back alley. On Saturday Freddy Fazbear's Pizza Place burns down along with the animatronics, Henry and the franchisee.
Fazbear Entertainment rebrands, and in an attempt to make light of the rumors surrounding them. They hire Steve Snodgrass to create several indie games based on the horrors of Fazbear Entertainment, LLC. He is later killed.
The Fazbear Funtime Service is established, leading to the events of the e-mails. Glitchtrap is spread through the system.
2020s (Presumably)[]
The play tester, Jeremy, is fired, and is replaced by Tape Girl. Eventually, Vanessa becomes a play tester, too.
Freddy Fazbear's Mega Pizzaplex begins construction. The Mimic is delivered to the Pizzaplex's construction site, before being brought into the old pizza place that was being remodeled into a museum. It then proceeds to kill a bunch of workers, before being cemented into the location.
Later, a group of teens breaks into the old pizza place and get stuck inside. Only one survives, who springlocks the Mimic in an old Court Jester costume and manages to escape.
One year has passed after the Pizzaplex opened Fazbear Entertainment board of directors decide to replace creative team with a self learning A.I. This lead to the construction of The Storyteller's Tree in the middle of the Pizzaplex's atrium, causing the Mimic1 virus to be spread throughout the Pizzaplex. Edwin Murray and Mr. Burrows are locked inside the tree and die due to the lack of oxygen, causing The Storyteller's Tree to be removed from the Pizzaplex.
Gregory gets infected with the Glitchtrap virus. Under his control he manages to repeatedly infect Pizzaplex's system and their animatronics. Everyone close to discovering the truth gets brutally killed.
Vanessa gets hired at the Mega Pizzaplex. With the help of Glamrock Freddy she gains access to Freddy Fazbear's Pizza Place located in the sinkhole under the Pizzaplex.
Gregory is somehow freed from Glitchtrap's control. While trying to escape the building he shatters the hostile glamrock animatronics. He also manages to free Vanessa from Glitchtrap's control by completing all of the "Princess Quest" arcade machines.
Freddy Fazbear's Mega Pizzaplex experiences a massive "earthquake" leading to its closure.
Gregory and Vanessa return to the sinkhole where they manage to outsmart and seal the Mimic in a mascot costume room.
Cassie receives a message from "Gregory." Goes to the dilapidated Pizzaplex to find him. This turns out to be a trap orchestrated by the Mimic which Cassie ends up freeing from his confinement.

In the first Five Nights at Freddy's game, one of the hidden newspapers state that the missing children were lured on June 26.
In Five Nights at Freddy's 3, the post night minigames all happen in the Freddy Fazbear's Pizza seen in FNaF 1 and ends with William Afton's death in the Spring Bonnie suit placing his death sometime after FNaF 2.
In The Week Before, many pop culture references are made cutting off at 1989.
In the story "Dittophobia," Rory was in the underground Circus Baby's Entertainment and Rental complex for 10 years. At that time, the Funtime animatronics were still untouched.
Five Nights at Freddy's: Sister Location has an Easter egg: if you enter 1983 in the Private Room, the bedroom cameras from FNaF 4 will appear. Given the fact that Rory spent 10 years in them, Sister Location should not take place until 1993.
In Special Delivery, Vanessa's username is "nessie97," and she is 23. Assuming she was born in 1997, that would place Special Delivery in 2020.
However, it is also possible that the "97" refers to September 7 instead.
It is implied in Help Wanted 2 that Charlie died in 1983.
The game also implies that David died in 1979, which would also place "The Mimic" story in the same year.
It is somewhat implied by Tales from the Pizzaplex that the Fazbear Frights series'timeline happens in the same continuity. If this is true, it would likely happen between Help Wanted and Security Breach.
