If you were to infuse an object with enough love and intention, would it have life?
Margie and Evan's beliefs on the Real Jake Doll, Fazbear Frights #6: Blackbird

The Real Jake Doll is a white-cloth doll that appears in The Real Jake, the second story of Fazbear Frights 6: Blackbird.

Physical Appearance[]

The Real Jake Doll is an almost three feet high white-cloth doll. It originally was plain white with no face, no clothing, and no details. As Jake played pretend with his make-believe friend, Simon, Margie would add details that the “real Jake” would have had on him from those adventures. One of the doll's simple hand-drawn eyes is blackened to represent when the real Jake stood up to a school bully. A drawn-on missing lower tooth represents the day the real Jake tried a tough trick with a skateboard. The doll’s pockets are overflowing with drawings of tickets to movies, amusement parks, and zoos. Its body is strained with different marks. The doll has a butter stain drawn around its mouth and part of a popcorn kernel is drawn between two teeth, which Margie considers to look realistic. A splinter is put on the pad of its index finger while another is put on the very tip of its middle finger. The doll has a pizza sauce stain on its chin and at the corner of its mouth, with a little garlic powder rubbed into the cloth. There’s also a chocolate stain somewhere on its body. The doll has different colors added to the end of every finger to represent finger paint under the real Jake’s nails. It also has a smiley-face eraser glued to its hand. The doll has a small tongue with purple stains colored on it. It has green tennis shoes with a broken shoelace drawn on its feet. The doll's knees have grass stains, reddish scraps, and various hues of brown smudges from sliding on dirt and mud. These smudges are also on its body.

History[]

The Real Jake[]

Jake has a tumor in his brain, weakening him to the point of being bedridden, with chemotherapy and other medical treatments not being able to help him. Despite Jake having been receptive to his father, Evan's, positive encouragement at first, after the failed surgeries the boy began to lose hope. Evan decided that Jake needed someone to believe in and pull him out of the horrors of his daily life, leading him into the joy of different possibilities. With this, "Simon" was born. Using a backup baby monitor hidden inside a little white cabinet in Jake's room, Evan would call Margie from overseas and communicate through the hidden monitor. Believing Jake would be more responsive to someone his own age, Evan used a voice distorter to turn his voice into a little kid's. Every night, Simon asks Jake how his day was. Whenever Jake brings up his real day, Simon asks him what the real Jake's day was like, typically saying he did exactly the same thing to further the conversation. Simon also tells Jake that he'll be in the cabinet until Jake is well enough to walk to the cabinet, open the door, and find him.

While Simon himself lacked a physical body, there was a surprise planned for Jake within the cabinet. Evan believed that if an object was given enough love and intention, it would have life. Margie too began to believe this, and so she purchased a plain white doll and began taking notes on the adventures Jake was having in his mind with Simon. Then, once Jake fell asleep, she would sneak into his room and begin adding details of his adventures onto the doll. The idea was that once Jake could walk, he'd go to the cabinet, open the door, and find the Real Jake Doll inside with all the things he did while sick Jake concentrated on getting well. Margie believed the doll acted as a hopeful reminder that, while Jake is fading, he still has enough imaginations to create another adventure.

Despite Jake's worsening condition, he began to look forward to his conversations with Simon more than anything in his day. As Jake continued to plan and talk about his adventures with his little friend, the Real Jake Doll became more and more detailed, quickly turning into a hot mess. Margie was certain Jake would love it once he saw it, however. This routine goes on for awhile, until eventually, Evan is killed when an IED hits the vehicle he was in and detonates. In Evan's will, Margie is named Jake's guardian and is left Evan's house and some savings. With Evan dead, Simon could no longer visit Jake at night and Margie's progress on the doll comes to an end. Margie doesn't tell Jake about his father's death, stating that Simon won't be visiting. That night, Margie hears whispers coming from the baby monitor in Jake's room, but cannot tell who is speaking or what they are speaking about.

The next day, Margie calls for Jake to be put in hospice care and plans to reveal what happened to his father and Simon. Once the EMTs arrives, however, Jake is found dead. As Margie and a neighbor say their goodbyes, they fail to notice the cabinet's door is wide open, showing Jake had gone on to possess the doll.

Epilogues[]

The Real Jake Doll somehow ends up in the lab of Dr. Phineas Taggart. The scientist was interested in the power of emotions, and how they could affect non-living things and even give it physical life if the inanimate object has some type of intelligence in it. The doll was used in one of Phineas' experiments with the emotion of agony being transferred from one object to another. The agony from three different objects was being transferred to an deactivated animatronic endoskeleton. Phineas decapitated the doll, placing its head on the endoskeleton to give it personality. He then used the battery pack of an animatronic dog named Fetch to power the machine. The endoskeleton comes to life and kills the doctor in cold blood.

Jake, who possessed the doll, and Andrew, who possessed Fetch, housed the endoskeleton. They went on to roam the streets in search of items infected with anger by Andrew. Many regular people saw the mysterious being, taking note of the doll's face and mistaking the sauce around his mouth for blood. This being was considered an urban legend, nicknamed the Stitchwraith.

  • The Real Jake Doll is the first component of the Stitchwraith, the other being Fetch.
