The Puppeteer is an antagonist in the Five Nights at Candy's series. He was an actor and puppeteer at the Rat & Cat Theater who controlled Vinnie, his puppet.

Personality[]

Not much is known about the Puppeteer's personality, as he only makes an appearance in the Five Nights at Candy's 3 minigames. However, from what is known, the Puppeteer values his career deeply and went to great lengths to defend it. When the RAT actor appeared at work drunk, the Puppeteer immediately began chewing him out, insisting that if one of the parents were to find out, they could all lose their jobs.

When the RAT actor refused to cooperate by going home or just taking the costume off, the Puppeteer tried to rip his mask off but accidentally killed the RAT actor in the ensuing scuffle. After the CAT actor walked in a few seconds later, the Puppeteer immediately became distraught and tried defending his actions as a mistake, and when the CAT actor insisted that they called the police and told them the truth, the Puppeteer killed the CAT actor in cold blood to avoid getting reported and likely losing his job and becoming incarcerated.

He then proceeds to call the police himself and lie about finding his coworkers dead at the scene before they order the Puppeteer to evacuate the restaurant. However, before he leaves, he takes his diploma, which was inside the office, leaving stacks of other things and even Vinnie behind, showing that one of the few things the Puppeteer valued was his diploma.

During the next night's minigame, the Puppeteer is seen crying while giving his report to the police. Whether this crying was genuine due to the weight of his actions setting upon him or whether this was just to appear distraught and confused to the police is unknown. Later, he becomes a famous actor before he is arrested when Mary Schmidt remembers the incident and provides her testimony, which causes Mary Schmidt to feel guilty about ruining the Puppeteer's life.

History[]

He first appears during the Night 3 minigame of Five Nights at Candy's 3, where he introduces himself and Vinnie to Mary. He later appears more prominently during the Night 5 minigame, where he follows the RAT actor into the Employees Only room. He insults the RAT actor for being drunk on the job and insists that he take off the costume and go home. When the RAT actor refuses to do so, the Puppeteer and the RAT actor get into a struggle where the Puppeteer ultimately accidentally kills the RAT actor by shoving him onto a table with a bladed end that stabs the RAT actor's neck. The CAT actor quickly comes in afterwards, and the Puppeteer says that everything was an accident. The CAT actor insists that they call the police and tell the truth, frustrating the Puppeteer, who, refusing to lose his career and get stuck in jail over this incident, strangles the CAT actor from behind and answers the police himself. He states that he just found his colleagues dead in the room, and the police ordered him to lock down the room before he left. He appears again in the Night 6 minigame, where he can be seen giving his statement to the police while crying.

After the incident, he becomes a popular actor, appearing in the horror film "PSYCHOPATH" and saying that he always wanted to be a serious actor. But after the Rat & Cat Theater investigation is reopened after hearing Mary's account of what happened, he is arrested by the police. It is unknown what happens to him after this point.
