Mrs. Patterson[]

Mrs. Patterson is Devon's English teacher and the girls' basketball coach. She is tall with broad shoulders, towering over Devon's 5'9". Mrs. Patterson also has a blonde ponytail, a wide face, intense blue eyes, and large square hands. A week prior, she hands out an assignment to write an original short story. Devon writes a story about Heather Ander's sisters being eaten by a bouncy house, but as he's reading to the class Mrs. Patterson shouts at him to stop. When she goes ignored, she takes the paper from his hands and sends him to Mr. Wright's office. The next day, Mrs. Patterson glares at Devon as he enters the class, seemingly bearing a grudge. She starts class right as Heather enters the room. The day after Kelsey is "killed," by the Golden Freddy suit, Mrs. Patterson notes his absence which brings the details of the previous day back to Devon. After Devon's disappearance, Mrs. Patterson asks Mick where he is and is satisfied with the answer he gives.
Mr. Wright[]
Mr. Wright is the principal. After Mrs. Patterson stops Devon from reading his story, he is sent to his office.
Valerie[]

Valerie is Heather's best friend. She's small with blonde curls and an excessive amount of makeup. After overhearing Heather complain about her two sisters to Valerie, Devon gets the idea to write a horror story about them. Later, after Devon forcefully joins their group and interrupts Heather, the group leaves and Valerie turns back to call Devon very weird.
Mr. Steward[]

Mr. Steward is Devon's art teacher. He gives Devon a D on his papier-mâché animal art project after he made a four-headed octopus, telling Devon he was supposed to make a real animal. When Devon replies that only five percent of the ocean floor is explored, Mr. Steward doesn't respond.
Kurt & Brian[]

Kurt and Brian are a couple of jocks that Kelsey befriends. When Kelsey sits down with Devon and Mick, Kelsey smiles at them and says hello.
Mr. Crenshaw[]
Mr. Crenshaw is Devon's math teacher. After becoming friends with Kelsey, Devon manages to raise his hand in answer a question correctly in his math class, much to the shock of Mr. Crenshaw.

Juliet is one of Heather's best friends. She's tall and slender.
Gabriella[]

Gabriella is one of Heather's best friends. She's Hispanic and one of the prettiest girls in the school. When Heather interrupts Kelsey, Devon, and Mick, Gabriella gives Devon a heavy-lidded look to make him feel smaller. After joining Kelsey and George to pick up supplies, Gabriella and Quincy flake on him.
Quincy[]
Quincy is Gabriella's boyfriend. He one of the prettiest boys in the school, with dark hair and lighter skin. For some reason, Quincy always hangs out with Heather, Valerie, Juliet, and Gabriella. He's impressed by George's truck, striking a pose with it. Since his brother is unable to take him and the rest of Heather's friend group home, they go with George in his truck. After joining Kelsey and George to pick up supplies, Quincy and Gabriella flake on him.
George[]
George is one of Kelsey's neighbors that he's made friends with. He is a fit old man in his sixties. He owns a bright red pickup truck. Kelsey texts him asking for help to build a hang-out spot for him, Devon, and Mick. When George arrives, however, Heather and her friend group interrupt them are tag along. George offers to set up a barbecue, but he isn't able to fit everyone in his truck, so Devon and Mick get left behind. When George comes back later to pick them up, the two boys have already left.
Mr. Gentry[]
Mr. Gentry is Devon's social studies teacher. He has black thick-rimmed reading glasses, a beaky nose, white hair, and close-set eyes. Mr. Gentry usually wears brown. Mick finds Mr. Gentry to be rather stern. One day, he asks the class what justice is. Kelsey tells Mr. Gentry that justice balances the scales, removing the downside so it doesn't outweigh the upside. Mr. Gentry finds this perspective interesting. Heather thinks justice is payback, and when Mr. Gentry asks if payback goes too far Heather simply states "accidents happen."
Unnamed Boys[]
Kelsey spots a couple of unnamed boys lingering outside the front doors of his new school. One wears all black while the other wore ragged jeans and a faded T-shirt. They get ignored or given scathing looks by other kids entering the school, but which the boys occasionally respond to with snickers. When they finally begin to enter the school, Kelsey approaches them and asks if they know any cool places to hang around.
