The Freddy Files is a series of guidebooks that archive most descriptions and lore about the Five Nights at Freddy's franchise, written by Scott Cawthon and Scholastic Inc. So far, there are a total of five guidebooks, with the five already released.
The books give out informative guides about the game series and the novels, including descriptions about the animatronics, level guides, Easter eggs, and even some recipes. The last pages will give out sneak peek teasers for the future of the franchise.
Content Sections[]
Each game is broken up into four sections: The Freddy Scoop, Gameplay and Strategy, Codes, Glitches, and Secrets, and Lore and Theories.
The Freddy Scoop[]
This section is usually a quick summary of the game, and how it begins and ends. Sometimes, the book goes through each and every night (like with Five Nights at Freddy's: Sister Location).
Gameplay and Strategy[]
This section goes through the gameplay of the game and covers tips and strategies on how to beat the nights. This section also has a part called Animatronic Inventory, which documents all of the animatronics in the game, and a map of the animatronic's movement through the buildings.
Codes, Glitches, and Secrets[]
This section goes through all of the rare screens and easter eggs that can happen in the games. This section may also contain a part called Retro Arcade, which explores the minigames.
Lore and Theories[]
This sections talks about popular fan theories and lore details of the games.

- Recipes in both editions include: Freddy's "Twisted" Pizza, Chica's Golden Cupcake Pizzas (referencing the rare Golden Cupcake drawing from the third game), and Eggs Benedict (referencing Michael Afton's nickname).
