Candy the Cat, also known as The Cat, is the secondary antagonist of the Five Nights at Candy's series, acting as the secondary antagonist in Five Nights at Candy's 2 and a major character in Five Nights at Candy's 3.
The Cat was one of the titular mascots of The Rat & Cat Theater alongside the Rat. As explored in Five Nights at Candy's 3, the two were originally suits worn by actors. The Cat is directly responsible for murdering the twins at the Rowboatics Corp. factory, seemingly having done so under Shadow Rat's oversight.
Physical Appearance[]
The Cat is a brownish-tan Wirelock Hybrid animatronic, with an almost featureless body. He has a tall head with empty eye sockets and two cat ears. He has a line stitched up running along the middle of his face, which ends at his snout which has a black nose. The Cat has crooked, uneven teeth that are beige in color. His torso is segmented up into three parts for more natural movement. His endoskeleton features cuboid metallic frames that are held together with balls and wires for movement. His left hand, lower left leg and feet are bare, with screw-like pins extend all across his body. He has tears across his forehead and chest, and loose wires at his jaw and feet.
Functionality[]
The Cat is a wirelock animatronic, made to be worn by actors at the Rat & Cat Theater. After the death of the actors, the Rat and the Cat were turned into regular animatronics with endoskeletons inside.
History[]
The Cat was created sometime before 1961 as a costumed character for the Rat & Cat Theater. He was played by a male actor who, alongside the Rat and Puppeteer, would put on shows and play games with the children.
One day in 1961, the Cat walks into the Employees Only room and find the Rat dead on the floor, along with The Puppeteer. The Puppeteer explains that he had gotten into a fight with the Rat over him coming into work drunk, and accidentally killed him by shoving him against the edge of a table. The Cat tells him they need to call the police, but the Puppeteer wants to lie to the police and tell them they found the Rat like this. The Cat goes to the phone, but is grabbed by his neck and strangled to death by the Puppeteer. The Puppeteer then calls the police and tells them that he found the actors dead.
Sometime after, the Rowboatics Corp. Factory is opened and creates the Rat and Cat animatronics for the Rat & Cat Theater's reopening. However, the Cat animatronic is soon possessed by the dead actor and becomes extremely aggressive. A year later at the theater's grand reopening, the Rat and the Cat are performing for a crowd of children. Mary's brother gets close to the Rat, leading the Rat to injure him. The injury was non-fatal, but the theater was closed anyway. The Rat and the Cat were sent back to the factory and were used as the base for newer designs.
In 1964, Old Candy and Blank are created and transferred to Candy's Burgers & Fries a year later, along with the Rat. It is unknown why the Cat was not transferred as well, but the Rat could have snuck out with the other animatronics. At one point in 1987, a pair of twins are murdered by the Cat, who shoves them into a conveyor belt while Candy and Cindy are being created as Shadow Rat looks on. This leads to the animatronics being haunted by the children. After the Rat murders a nightguard at Candy's Burgers & Fries, the restaurant is shut down along with the animatronics being sent back to the factory.
the Cat reactivates in 2007, after the young Marylin Schmidt breaks into the factory and stays there for six nights. After Night 6, the factory burns to the ground; it can be assumed that the Cat and the rest of the animatronics were destroyed in this event.
