Summary[]
Mott's little brother brings home a pack of Sea Bonnies (small aquatic creatures that look like Bonnie) from Freddy Fazbear's Pizza. When Mott makes fun of the pets, the Sea Bonnies thrash angrily in their water tank. Mott hears voices from the Sea Bonnies taunting him, so he flushes them down the toilet. However, he doesn't notice that he accidentally dropped some into a glass of water, and he accidentally swallow a few Sea Bonnies. Mott's skin turns transparent as the Sea Bonnies begin replacing his flesh, until he is entirely replaced by Sea Bonnies.
Plot[]

The box of Sea Bonnies.
Mott is a 13-year-old teen responsible for watching over his seven-year-old brother, Rory. The two go to Freddy Fazbear’s Pizzeria for a friend’s birthday party. Mott is invited by his crush, Theresa, to sit with her. She’s shocked by how different Mott and Rory look, and Mott jokes that he tells Rory he was left on their doorstep by sea monkeys. Rory approaches to ask for more money and overhears the joke. Mott and Theresa talk about their hatred of sea monkeys and music they like, and Rory excitedly returns with a package of Sea Bonnies, sea monkeys genetically engineered to look like Bonnie that Fazbear Entertainment only came out with last month. Rory jokes that it was Sea Bonnies that left him on the doorstep and now he could have his real siblings around.

Mott insulting the Sea Bonnies.
At home, Rory rushes into the kitchen to show his mother the Sea Bonnies package. He asks Mott to define a colony, and once he does Rory complains that he wants an empire of Sea Bonnies. After dinner and some research to make sure the water is safe for Rory’s goldfish, Fritz, Mott helps Rory set up the colony. Rory is disappointed to hear that they need to wait twenty-four hours to put in the eggs, but their mom calms him down. Feeling bad that she had to intervene, Mott decides to get Rory ready for bed. While getting his pjs, Rory throws a pillow at Mott, and the two joke that there’s an invisible Pillow Thrower. Mott uses the words milksop, mettle, and namby-pamby, and he explains what they mean to Rory.

Two days later, Mott and his best friends Nate and Lyle work on a science project with the help of Nate’s father, Dr. T. When Mott returns home, Rory shows off semitranslucent, fleshy pale bluish-purple creatures with tiny black eyes, tiny furry tentacles that line their bodies, and misshapen rabbit ears. Mott jokingly asks if Rory is part sea monster and calls the Sea Bonnies disgusting. Rory strokes the fish tank and the Sea Bonnies move in a giant cluster towards Rory’s hand. Rory demands an apology and when Mott laughs the cluster moves to the front of the tank to face him. Their mother steps in and Mott apologizes, and he looks back to see the Sea Bonnies behaving normally. Mott suddenly hears someone whisper his name, calling him a scaredy-cat. He glances at the fish tank, and the Sea Bonnies suddenly swim to face him.

The next morning, Mott thinks about meeting Theresa before class and a whisper taunts his inner dialogue by saying girls wouldn’t pay attention to him. Mott sees the Sea Bonnies clustered at the end of the fish tank and calls them “glorified fish bait,” causing them to thrash around. That afternoon, Mott helps Rory write a poem about his Sea Bonnies. They once again shoot towards Mott’s direction, but when trying to show Rory they go back to normal. Mott hums and runs to the bathroom, but Rory finishes his poem. He reads it to the Sea Bonnies and they line up at the glass, shimmying their tails. They turn back to Mott and he convinces Rory to play a video game together. Mott spends the next day distracting himself with music and games, but his mother goes to bed early with a headache. Rory and the whispers demand to be read Foxy and Bonnie on the High Seas, so Mott reads fast. Rory falls asleep and Mott tries running, but the whispers call him a namby-pamby. He finds the Sea Bonnies attacking Fritz. Rory took the net into the bathtub so Mott leaves the room, but once he returns everything is calm. He notices Fritz is now a faded blue and lumpy. Mott realizes that Fritz is now a mass of Sea Bonnies, and spots a couple of Fritz’s scales floating to the bottom of the tank.

Mott spends the rest of the night and most of the next day thinking about Not Fritz and decides to get rid of the Sea Bonnies. He convinces Rory to toss a ball around outside, telling him, “It’s a nice day; everyone should be outside.” Rory’s friend comes by walking his puppy and Rory joins him, allowing Mott to get rid of the creatures. The Sea Bonnies thrash around, but he ignores them and flushes them down the toilet. Mott tells his mother and Rory he tried cleaning the tank and they died due to being in his mom’s big stockpot. Rory bursts into tears and locks himself in his room, making Mott feel bad. Eventually Rory comes out and tells Mott he’s not his brother. Mott dreams about eating cornflakes and reading an English assignment, but when he looks down he discovers he is eating Sea Bonnies. He wakes up and feels like he’s about to puke, so he runs to the bathroom and chugs a glass of water. Mott feels something clumpy go down his throat and examines the glass but only sees water, so he thinks he swallowed toothpaste.

The MRI scan showing Sea Bonnies in Mott's body.
Mott wakes up with big stomach cramps and believes he swallowed a Sea Bonnie. The whispers return, calling him stupid, guilty, a wuss, a murderer, and a milksop. Mott calls Dr. T’s clinic and the receptionist, Claudia, picks him up. Everything looks normal on the ultrasound and Dr. T gives him a ride home. Mott sleeps for twelve hours, and when he wakes up his stomach is only sore. He thinks back to Fritz and worries the Sea Bonnies have consumed his belly. Mott stays home again and sleeps more, but the whispers turn into shouts. He puts in his earbuds with loud rock music and plays a handheld game. Later, Mott feels his organs shaking and has difficulty breathing. A CAT scan reveals abnormalities, and Dr. T shows Mott light-colored clumps clustered all through his intestines, stomach, lungs, and heart, which Mott realizes are Sea Bonnies. Dr. T concludes it might be a mistake with the scanner. Mott tries to explain what is happening, but Dr. T sighs and calls his mother. She tells Mott to go to his room so they can talk in the morning.

A Sea Bonnie emerging from a bloody wound.
Mott sees lumps moving under his skin and scratches his forearm until it bleeds, seeing tails squirming in his blood. His entire arm becomes itchy and it turns a translucent pale shade of purple blue. The same thing happens to his other arm, and looking in a mirror Mott sees a few Sea Bonnies moving in his eyes. He climbs out his window and off the porch to see Dr. T, twisting his ankle. Mott makes his way through the greenbelt in the pouring rain, accidentally tearing a chunk of his flesh out by scratching it too hard. He sees it’s a mass of Sea Bonnies and throws them to the ground. Mott notices the Sea Bonnies pursuing him to reabsorb themselves into his body. He accidently trips, allowing them to return, and feels the Sea Bonnies all over his body, so he lets out a scream. Mott makes it to the sidewalk leading to the clinic’s back door.

With each step Mott takes, pieces of his flesh fall away and turn into Sea Bonnies, which chaotically swim back to him. Mott tries pulling at his cheeks, ears, arms, chest, and hips, but every time he does his flesh and tissue turns into Sea Bonnies and reattach themselves faster, using puddles and rain to rejoin the empire of other Sea Bonnies. He makes it around the clinic and is close to the front door, but is having trouble remembering the people he cares about. When Mott finally reaches the door, his hand disintegrates.

Mott fully transformed into Sea Bonnies.
Claudia hears large splashes and a suctioning sound outside. After hearing it for the third time, she checks outside the clinic, seeing Mott in the heavy rain acting completely normal. Confused, Claudia decides to act normal too, noticing that Mott’s skin has an unnatural bluish tint and is so pale he’s almost see-through. When she asks Mott if he is okay, he responds, “Yes. It’s a nice day. Everyone should be outside.” Claudia looks into his eyes and when she sees that his pupils are okay she smiles. He smiles back at and walks away in the rain, and after a few feet he seems to disappear.

Trivia[]
- The goldfish in this story is named Fritz, the same name as one of the missing children and one of the night guards from FNaF 2. The Ultimate Guide states that "They seem unrelated."[1]
- The ending of the story is foreshadowed in the very first paragraph, where Mott remarks that he liked Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria because it always "had a way of getting under the skin."
- The Sea Bonnies taking over Mott's body seems to parallel to Ennard possessing Michael Afton.
- This is the second story with a supernatural creature as the antagonist, the first being Blackbird.
