“But I can tell you that those jokes you think are so funny, they're not funny to the people on the receiving end of them.” |
Sam O'Neil is the deuteragonist of Blackbird, the first story in Fazbear Frights 6: Blackbird. He's a rather tall and awkward young man who goes missing after nearly getting hit by a train.
Physical Appearance[]
Sam is six-foot-five with 37 inch long legs and huge feet, making him look like a stock, heron, or crane. He's dark and skinny with strong features, a wide mouth, and a sharp jawline, which makes him look harsh, angry, and serious even when he isn't. Sam also has an almost military haircut and wears a ton of black, red, and tan. His shirts are crisply ironed thanks to his mother.
Personality[]
Sam is a smart and funny person who is usually honest and open. He's also somewhat nerdy, finding it more fun to work on projects than drink and party. Sam is rather introverted too, preferring quiet over the campus’s constant chatter, angst, and fast pace. This can make him seem uncool, but he still makes friends easily due to his nice attitude. Sam is rather insecure about himself due to his height, which makes him clumsy. He doesn’t feel like he fits in with mainstream life and used to be a target for bullies until he struck back. While Sam later regrets what he did, he still has a strong dislike of bullies.
History[]
Sam is close friends with Nole, seeing him as cooler than the nerd he was. He and Nole come up with the Blackbird monster together for their cinematography class. The Blackbird is stated to punish a person after they reveal their darkest secret, and must either atone for it or suffer the consequences. When the costume is completed, Sam puts it on as Nole confesses his darkest secret of making a young girl's life miserable through bullying. Sam, who was currently being picked on for his legs, dislikes how his best friend burdened another person with that same suffering.
Sam is presumed dead from being ran over by a train, but actually survived with only a broken leg. Nole reunites with Sam and apologizes for his behavior, and Sam accepts it. When asking what Nole was up to, he simply says it's a long story. Sam then states that "the Blackbird will make him tell," and laughs.
Speculation[]
- It's unclear what happened to Sam on the train tracks. Whether Sam was the one stalking Nole as Blackbird, the Blackbird possessing Sam's body or if the costume somehow came to life while Sam remained in recovery is unknown.
