“Uh, this is just to inform all employees that due to budget restrictions, the previously mentioned safe rooms are being sealed at most locations, including this one.” |
The Safe Room is a secret room within the first game's Freddy Fazbear's Pizza. It was only seen in the End-of-Night Minigames from Five Nights at Freddy's 3.
Background[]
The Safe Room itself contains very few items. The original Spring Bonnie suit, Springtrap, was presumably stored here where it remained (due to its extremely lethal usage) until it was found by employees at Fazbear's Fright: The Horror Attraction. Additionally, three of what appear to be arcade machines are seen in the back of the room, boasting a blank blue screen. The floor and walls appear to be identical to those of the rest of the building.
According to both the phone calls and minigames in Five Nights at Freddy's 3, there was a "Safe Room" that was hidden from the cameras and was invisible to animatronics. This room ended up being covered with a false wall, due to what was presumably budget restrictions.[1] According to the map of the minigames in between nights in the third game, this room is right next to the Restrooms, near the entrance.
History[]
This room's functions are mixed, as sort of a "multipurpose room" of the establishment. As Phone Guy describes, the safe room is "reserved for equipment and/or other property not being currently used and is in fact a safety location for employees only," and no customers are permitted to visit this room.[2] The room's role in the storyline is pivotal, however, as it is used as a hiding place for William Afton.
From the post-Night 5 minigame, William gets confronted by the ghosts of The Missing Children Incident victims in this room. Moments later, William desperately wears the rotten Spring Bonnie suit as an attempt to trick or scare the ghosts. This fails miserably, as the springlocks activate and crush William's body within the suit, resulting in his eventual death. The ghosts vanish into thin air, leaving William's trapped body to die in a pool of his own blood.

Work crews will be here most of the day today, constructing a false wall over the old door base. Nothing is being taken out beforehand, so if you've left anything inside, then it's your own fault. The safe room is reserved for equipment and/or other property not being currently used and is in fact a safety location for employees only. This is not a break room, and should not be considered a place for employees to hide and/or congregate - and under no circumstance should a customer ever be taken into this room and out of the main show area. Management has also been made aware that the Spring Bonnie animatronic has been noticeably moved. We would like to remind employees that this costume is not safe to wear under any circumstances." - Phone Guy's Night 5 training tape | Five Nights at Freddy's 3
