S.T.A.F.F. Bots, after being stunned by the Fazerblaster or flashed by the Faz Camera, Security Breach

The S.T.A.F.F. Bots are employee robots made by Fazbear Entertainment LLC for Freddy Fazbear's Mega Pizzaplex. They first appeared in Five Nights at Freddy's: Security Breach.

Physical Appearance[]

Staff Bots Poster

The S.T.A.F.F. bots in a poster.

While all S.T.A.F.F. Bots vary in color scheme depending on their role, they all share the same basic design. A S.T.A.F.F. bots sports a white, ovoid-esque head, with cutouts for two white eyes with black irises; two ovals are placed on the sides of their head. A light gray, pointed decal is placed under each cutout, and a segment runs through the middle of the eye sockets. Their faces also appear to have peach pink blush circles, below their eyes. Their torso is composed of a singular, segmented metal spine, with a chest suit piece, fitted with buttons, covering half of it. The word "STAFF" is painted on the back of the chest piece, and two wires poke out of both sides of the chestpiece's lower half, which connect to their respective arm. Spherical shoulder joints connect the arms to the torso, the upper half of the arms are bare, and while the lower half is covered by a forearm suit piece, the arms end in three-fingered hands. A cylindrical waist connects both halves of the S.T.A.F.F. bot, with lights on the sides. The lower half of the S.T.A.F.F. bot is made up of one singular piece that tapers outwards, ending in two wheels.

Functionality[]

S.T.A.F.F. bots perform jobs normally done by humans around the Pizzaplex, and can be seen working as waiters, security guards, and janitors. Most of their variants are passive, and will not attempt to hurt the player. However, Alpha/Nightmarionne S.T.A.F.F. bots will attack the player on contact, while Security Bots will alert nearby animatronics to the player's position by sounding an alarm. Cleaner Bots also alert animatronics, but only if the player gets in the way of the cleaning arm. If there are no hostile animatronics nearby, the alarm may cause one to teleport one near the player.

Types[]

Security Bots[]

Security bot wiki
Main article: Security Bots

The Security Bots patrol Freddy Fazbear's Mega Pizzaplex during the night. These S.T.A.F.F. Bots are the most common throughout the game, and follow set patrol routes, occasionally stopping and performing a full turn before resuming their rounds. Should Gregory come within the beam of light, the Security Bot will jumpscare him and sound an alarm, alerting nearby Glamrock Animatronics to his position. In the Sewers below the Pizzaplex, a withered version of the Security Bot (not the Nightmarionne ones) is present, called Sewer Bots in the game files.

Map Bots[]

Map bot wiki
Main article: Map Bots

The Map Bots are S.T.A.F.F. bots who are employed to hand out maps to customers. They have a habit of jumpscaring Gregory, though, this will not alert nearby animatronics. Instead, they will follow it up with a request for him to take a map, no longer jumpscaring him on sight.

Mop Bots[]

Mop bot Wiki
Main article: Mop Bots

The Mop Bots clean up around the Pizzaplex, hence their name. Unlike the other S.T.A.F.F. Bots, they are completely white.

They either stand still or roll around slowly, sweeping or mopping the ground as they do so. If Gregory comes too close to them, they will look at him and signal him to move away. Like the Security Bots, if Gregory gets too close to them repeatedly, the Cleaning Bot will sound an alarm, alerting nearby animatronics to his location. If Gregory is crouching, they cannot detect him.

Party Bots[]

Party bot wiki
Main article: Party Bots

The Party Bots are S.T.A.F.F. bots that stand in front of the entrances to certain attractions.

If Gregory has a Party Pass, they will dance around on the spot as the game prompts him to give it to them, and they will promptly disappear after receiving the Party Pass. If Gregory doesn't have a Pass though, they will stop him from entering the attraction they guard.

Alien Bots[]

Alien bot wiki
Main article: Alien Bots

The Alien Bots are a unique variation of S.T.A.F.F. bots found exclusively in the Fazer Blast attraction. They wear a green cap with alien-like antennae. They carry standard issue Fazer Blaster laser guns.

Alien Bots will shoot Gregory when he is in range and attempt to destroy any flag captured by him. Alien Bots can be stunned by hitting them with the Fazer Blaster laser gun. Shooting the Alien Bots directly between the eyes will completely destroy them, earning Gregory Fazer Blast game points. Both stunning and destroying the Alien Bots will award Gregory with 10 points each time.

Nightmarionne or Alpha Bots[]

Nightmare bot wiki
Main article: Nightmarionne S.T.A.F.F. Bots

The Nightmarionne S.T.A.F.F. Bots or Alpha S.T.A.F.F. Bots are the vandalized counterparts of the regular S.T.A.F.F. Bots that resemble Nightmarionne, hence their name. They can be seen in the Sewers of the Pizzaplex and are the only S.T.A.F.F. bots that can directly kill the player, making them the most dangerous bots in the game. However, they are lethal only in the Sewers and act as Security Bots in every other encounter.

Comedy Bot[]

Comedy bot wiki
Main article: Comedy Bot

The Comedy Bot is a S.T.A.F.F. Bot individual who can be found in the Fazbear Theater, where it will stand on stage and make jokes to the audience, also using hand gestures.

Magician Bot[]

Magiciant bot wiki
Main article: Magician Bot

The Magician Bot is a S.T.A.F.F. Bot dressed in magician's attire complete with a top hat and a red bowtie. It will occasionally replace Comedy Bot in the Fazbear Theater. There is also a non-functioning, damaged version of the Magician Bot in the Staff Bot Silo within the Sewers.

Driver Assist Bots[]

Driver bot wiki

The Driver Assist Bots are S.T.A.F.F. bots employed to help guests that are too short to drive the Karts in Roxy Raceway. They sport a white color scheme with orange accents, and are immobile, due to being connected to the Kart itself and, thus, entirely lacking a lower half. The second segment of their fingers is colored purple, and the logo for Roxy Raceway is printed on their chestpiece.

The player can find the only Driver Assist Bot on a yellow Kart near the northwest stairs, though it is missing a head which needs to be found and repaired in order for the Bot to function again, thus triggering Roxanne Wolf's boss battle. In the DLC RUIN, a Driver Assist kart can run over Cassie, killing the player.

Instructor Bot[]

Instructor bot wiki

The Instructor Bot is a unique S.T.A.F.F. bot that is employed to explain the rules of Fazer Blast. They wear a vest with a lightning bolt with a bow tie printed on it, a cap with bear's ears, and hold a Fazer Blaster.

There is presumably one Fazer Blast bot for each team, but only the orange team’s bot is seen in-game. Their dialogue refers to the opposing team as "the orange-slash-blue team", so they may be a single bot reused between teams.

Pizza Bot[]

Chef bot wiki

The Pizza Bot, also called Chef Bot in the files, is a S.T.A.F.F. bot who is employed to make pizzas via the Freddy Fazbear's Mega Pizzaplex Quick Delivery Virtual System. and is the only S.T.A.F.F. bot variant that can be fully controlled by the player. Gregory uses this to make a pizza to distract Glamrock Chica, who attacks it in the process. It is also one of the S.T.A.F.F bots that will not attack if the player gets too close.

It appears to share its color scheme with the Mop Bots, though it wears a toque and a visibly dirty chef's jacket from the attack.

Attendant Bots[]

Attendant bot wiki

A pair of Attendant Bots, also known as Circus Baby Bots in the files, can be found serving ice cream and other treats at Bonnie Bowl. Other than remaining at the cash aisle, they hardly do much. A broken version of the Attendant Bot can be found at the end of the Sewers as a part of the S.T.A.F.F. Bot family.

Their design and position are loosely based on Circus Baby, in reference to her ice cream-dispensing functionality mentioned in Sister Location.

Nanny Bot[]

Nanny bot wiki

The Nanny Bot is a female S.T.A.F.F. bot dressed like a nanny, with light blue hair. The broken version only appears at the end of the Sewers.

In the files, a fixed version is found but was not used in game. A broken version of the Nanny Bot can be found at the end of the Sewers as a part of the S.T.A.F.F. Bot family.

Server Bot[]

Server bot wiki

The Server Bot is a S.T.A.F.F. bot that is employed to serve food to people. The Server Bot wears a blue, orange and red striped shirt, they also wear a light purple and red cap with a red and blue propeller on it. A broken version can be found at the end of the Sewers.

A fixed model of this bot can be found in the game files, but the broken version can only be seen in the Sewers. In the tech-demo, there were server bots serving meals at El Chip's and wearing a large sombreros, implying that there were originally food delivery variants of S.T.A.F.F. bots. These bots were eventually reused for Five Nights at Freddy's: Help Wanted 2.

Worker Bots[]

Worker Bot DLC

The Worker Bots are a type of S.T.A.F.F. bots who serve as constructors for the locations within Freddy Fazbear's Mega Pizzaplex. Deactivated Worker Bots are seen in RUIN with blue helmets instead of yellow ones.

A Worker Bot also serves as an antagonist in the Fizzy Faz series of minigames in Five Nights at Freddy's: Help Wanted 2. Giving tutorials, making orders, and checking up on the player throughout the series of nights.

Mask Bot[]

Main article: Mask Bot

The Mask Bot is a S.T.A.F.F. bot who is employed to hand out masks to customers. A Mask Bot delivers the Security Mask to Cassie, they have a habit of jumpscaring Cassie, though, this will not alert nearby animatronics.

Table Bots[]

This section archives a lot of theories and speculation, which usually occurs from pre-release media, or just things that are still unknown, so please keep that in mind while reading. The page will continue to be updated with the most accurate information as more solid evidence is supplied.

Staff Bot Family

The Table Bots are a group of five deactivated S.T.A.F.F. Bots found in the Staffbot Silo from the Sewers. The family consists of The Magician Bot, Nanny Bot, Server Bot, Attendant Bot, and the headless S.T.A.F.F. Bot. They are theorized to be a reference to a past group of characters, such as The Afton Family or Funtime Animatronics.

The following section is rather large and has been truncated for ease of page viewing.
To view it, click the [show] tag.

Two common interpretations propose that the Table Bots represent the Afton Family.

  • The Ice Cream Attendant Bot represents Elizabeth Afton. The reasoning being that she visibly resembles Circus Baby, the animatronic Elizabeth Afton possessed.
  • The Nanny Bot represents the seldom relevant Mrs. Afton. The reasoning being that she visibly resembles Ballora, an animatronic commonly theorized to represent (and possibly even be possessed by) Mrs. Afton.
    • Another relevant detail about this bot is that it is placed at the far end of the table, seemingly at the "head," rather than The Magician Bot, which would contradict the interpretation that the Magician bot is William Afton, the man of the house. Some theorists instead suggest that all 4 of the other staff-bots represent children of the Nanny bot, which is comparable to how Ballora is often shown surrounded by 4 Minireenas.
  • The headless S.T.A.F.F. Bot represents the Crying Child. The reasoning being that it is missing its head, which may be a reference to the Crying Child's head being bitten and damaged in the Bite of 83, at the end of Five Nights at Freddy's 4.
    • This is further supported by the existence of another headless bot similar to this one in the utility tunnels. it is lying broken on the ground while 4 intact robots stand upright against it. Likely paralleling the BiteVictim kneeling on the ground surrounded by the 4 mask-wearing teenage bullies in the 6th end-of-night minigame of Five Nights at Freddy's 4.
    • There is also another headless bot sitting under a flight of stairs near the room containing a recreation of Michael Afton's room shown in Five Nights at Freddy's: Sister Location. This may support the conclusion that the Crying Child and Michael Afton are one and the same.
  • The Server Bot represents The Foxy-mask-wearing Older Brother, possibly as or as not Michael Afton. The reasoning being that it is placed opposite of who is theorized to be the Crying Child, as well as the large amount of the color red on the bot's design, and lastly a visual similarity to Balloon Boy, who has a close connection to Foxy.
    • Another relevant detail of the bot's design is that it is the role of a restaurant worker.(particularly, server, as the filename suggests.) Many theorize this to connect to the possibility of the Older Brother being someone who has worked at Freddy's, such as Michael Afton or Phone Guy.
      • A counter-point to the argument is the fact that it does not use the model of a Security Bot suggesting that it might not represent a Night-guard.
    • The colors of the bot's shirt are orange, red, and blue, a color scheme similar to that of Glamrock Freddy, this may potentially hint at a connection between Freddy and whichever Afton this bot represents.
  • The Magician Bot is the main difference between these two first interpretations, theorized to represent one of two possible identities.
    • The first interpretation is that it represents William Afton. The reasoning being that the outfit it wears appears to be one of high-class, considered befitting of a wealthy English business man like William Afton, and appears to fit the role of a "ring-leader".
      • However, this would seem to be contradicted by the placement of this bot at one side of the table rather than at the front or "head" which is reserved for The Nanny Bot theorized to represent Mrs. Afton. Leading to the second interpretation.
    • The second interpretation is that it represents a 4th child in the Afton family, seemingly supported by The Nanny Bot being at the front or "head" of the table rather than The Magician Bot, suggesting The Magician Bot does not represent William Afton.
      • This 4th child is further theorized to possibly be the identity of Golden Freddy. The reasoning being that Golden Freddy is one of the characters in the series who wears a Top-hat and bow-tie, as well as a comparison between Golden Freddy often appearing and disappearing completely, (even to/from places that are currently impossible to access/leave, such as the Security Office in Five Nights at Freddy's 1 while both of the security doors are closed) and the magic tricks of a Magician, particularly those of the "escape artist" variety.
        • This comparison is backed up by a skin for Golden Freddy in Special Delivery called "The Great Escape" that has Golden Freddy bound in a straight-jacket as well as several chains, and appears to have water damage on certain parts of the suit, all three of which are/reference staple elements of an "escape artist" act.
        • This interpretation may suggest that the 5th victim of the Missing Children Incident, (likely also known as Cassidy) is a member of the Afton Family.

The second and least common interpretation of the Table Bots suggests that it represents Funtime Animatronics.

  • The Ice Cream Attendant Bot represents Circus Baby. The reasoning being a strong visual resemblance.
  • The Nanny Bot represents Ballora. The reasoning being a strong visual resemblance.
  • The Magician Bot represents Funtime Freddy. The reasoning being that Funtime Freddy wears a Top-hat and bow-tie, and that a common Magician's trick is pulling a rabbit out of their hat, potentially connecting to Funtime Freddy's "Bon-Bon" hand puppet.
  • The Server Bot represents Funtime Foxy. The reasoning being a large amount of the color red on the bot's design, and a visible resemblance to Balloon Boy, who has a close connection to Foxy.
    • These both, however, only connect to Funtime Foxy via Funtime Foxy being an alternate form of Foxy, as Balloon Boy has no established connection to Funtime Foxy, and Funtime Foxy does not have red in their color-scheme.
  • The bot missing its head represents Ennard. The reasoning being the design of the bot being largely gray with slight blue accents, comparable to the metal that makes up most of Ennard's body and the blue eyes attached to their head, and a comparison between the fact that the bot's head is missing and the fact that for most of Sister Location Ennard's mask was located in the Primary Control Module, rather than on their person(s).

Scrapped Bots[]

Springtrap Corpse Head DEMO "I repeat, the classic suits are not to be touched, activated or worn."

This article refers an idea or a list of content that has been scrapped out for various reasons.
They can be presented in the decompiled files, concept designs, or other non-interactive media.

  • There were some other S.T.A.F.F. bots planned to be added in Security Breach but ended up scrapped or left unused.
    • A completely unused yellow S.T.A.F.F. bot variant (which bares resemblance to a crash test dummy) can be located in the files, these were presumably going to be somewhere in the Roxy Raceway.
    • A completely unused green Alien Bot can be located in the files, most likely playing a part in Fazer Blast.
    • A S.T.A.F.F. bot, called Caddy Bot, that was wearing a green apron, green plaid golf caps with a red bulb on top, and carry a green and purple golf-club bag on their back was presumably meant to play a role in Monty's Gator Golf.
    • A S.T.A.F.F. bot wearing a light blue shirt with a pink collar, a white apron and a fry cook hat with a white and pink checkered pattern, and pink Pizzaplex logos on the backs of their shirts. They would've likely work in the various Kitchens in the game, this bot is called Fry Cook Bot
      Mime bot wiki
    • A S.T.A.F.F. Bot colored with a pale blue & dark blue accents. Its torso is black & white striped with pink lines that act as painted-on suspenders, and it's cheeks & wires are also colored pink, this bot is called Mime Bot.

Trivia[]

  • From the tech-demo trailer, there was a normal S.T.A.F.F. Bot working as the attendant of Bonnie Bowl. This was replaced in the final game.
  • "S.T.A.F.F." appears to be an acronym, although it is never explicitly stated in-game what it stands for.
  • In the games' ending credits, the S.T.A.F.F. Bots are said to have been voiced by themselves. Their voices are actually created with Cepstral or VoiceForge, free text-to-speech generator sites. The male variants use "David", whereas "Callie" is used for the female variants.
    • Threatening to suspend Gregory's membership is the only instance in the entire game where a different text-to-speech service is used for the voices of the S.T.A.F.F. Bots, excluding various unused dialogue. Google WaveNet was used in these instances.
  • There are at least 27 S.T.A.F.F. Bots in various states of disrepair throughout Freddy Fazbear's Mega Pizzaplex, excluding the sewers.
  • Unlike the Glamrock animatronics, the S.T.A.F.F. Bots do not appear to possess any form of self-awareness. This is made most apparent by the Instructor, Comedy, and Magician Bots, whose dialogue makes it clear that they cannot tell that no humans are present, as well as Freddy's lack of concern for the headless Driver Assist Bot, despite his concern for the other Glamrocks.
    • Some of the S.T.A.F.F. Bots' unused dialogue seems to imply sentience, however as it is unused, it likely doesn't mean anything, and may have been unused for this reason.
    • However, Help Wanted 2 features S.T.A.F.F. Bots that appear sentient and capable of getting upset with the player, even going on strike at one point. This, however, is likely due to them being part of a virtual simulation.
  • While they can give a jumpscare, they won't give a Game Over screen. However, in Help Wanted 2, they are capable of giving jumpscares and sending the player to the Game Over Room, specifically the level Salon: S.T.A.F.F Makeover in Backstage (FNaF: HW2) and the Fizzy Faz levels in Staff Only.
