They first appeared in Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria Simulator as purchasable items from the Smiles and Servos, Inc Catalog (except for Lefty, who can be afforded from Rare Finds Auction, and Carnie, who debuted in another game) for customizing the pizzeria. The rockstar animatronics seem to be based off the classic animatronics in their withered forms. They all have heads separated from the jaws, sporting round rosy or blue cheeks (except Rockstar Foxy), metal stars on their chests (except for Rockstar Chica who wears a bib, and Carnie who wears a suit), and equip instruments.
Functionality
While full details of their artificial intelligence are not revealed, it is possible that the rockstar animatronics have their own unique functions, like Rockstar Freddy designed as a Faz-Coin bank seen in Ultimate Custom Night.

Fate
Near the end of Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria Simulator, Upon completion of the game's final night, the player's employer, who is revealed to be Henry Emily, the original founder of Fazbear Entertainment and former business partner of William Afton, reveals that the undergrounds chambers and the vent system have been disconnected from the main building, preventing the animatronics from reaching the pizzeria above, and thus trapping them. Henry then sets the building on fire, using remote burners built in the floor, with himself, the player, and the animatronics inside, destroying all of them and freeing all of William's victims in the process.
It's presumed that both the Rockstar Animatronics and the Mediocre Melodies were destroyed in the fire. However, in Tales from the Pizzaplex, it is mentioned that there were old endoskeletons scattered around the pizzeria. They were removed in order to allow construction of Freddy Fazbear's Mega Pizzaplex, which was built on the site of the pizzeria. This suggests that the Rockstar Animatronics and the Mediocre Melodies may have been deactivated before the fire and that their suits were burned in the fire, but not their endoskeletons. In any case, the fate of their endoskeletons following their removal is currently unknown.
