Core Five Nights at Freddy's Series |
The Rise of Franken Freddy alpha is a pre-release prototype of Help Wanted's Curse of Dreadbear DLC found on PlayStation 4.
Discovery[]
On October 27th, 2019, only days after the DLC's initial release, a Reddit post by u/NR_Superstar was made on the official Five Nights at Freddy's subreddit about his accidental discovery of an old build.[1] When he had downloaded the DLC to play for himself, he discovered that the game was also attempting to download a large update file immediately afterwards. Curiously, he stopped the update and started the game without to see if it would work. To his surprise, the game worked, and he was introduced to an Alpha build of the DLC, including the old name.
Differences[]
Before being given its current name, Rise of Franken Freddy was the original name given for the DLC, with many references still contained in the files. It can be safely assumed that it was most likely referencing Dreadbear's own alpha counterpart, before being shortened.
Besides the original Rise of Franken Freddy title being used on the projector screen, there are quite a few obvious signs of unfinished content present in the recording. Available level segments contain earlier icon images that resemble the final ones without lighting. The levels are also listed differently.
Afraid of the Dark[]
This mode contains only "Pirate Ride" and "Corn Maze".
- In the "Pirate Ride" level, Foxy from the start is not wearing a pirate uniform.
- In the "Corn Maze" level, Grimm Foxy's jumpscare is just Withered Foxy's as a placeholder, with Plushtrap's scream used.
Spooky Mansion[]
The "Hallway Chase" level seems almost identical, albeit with a mass amount of glitches. This is the only available level segment, with Plushkin Patch, Trick or Treat, Build-A-Mangle, and the rest left unimplemented.
Danger! Keep Out![]
The "Danger! Keep Out!" game mode from the hub area, apart from two other modes, was called "Office Placeholder Name" with the icon taken from the FNAF 1 mode. Night 01 and Night 02 are the only available level segments.
