History[]
The Rat & Cat Theater opened on January 2, 1961, and quickly became a popular place for children, with actors wearing animal costumes playing shows on the stage and games with children.
On October 13, 1961, the RAT invites a group of children to play Hide-N-Seek with him, and everyone except Mary Schmidt finds a place to hide. As the CAT runs out of the "staff only" room, Mary quickly goes inside and hides in a closet. RAT runs in, looking for Mary and telling her to get out. The Puppeteer enters the room, telling RAT to take off his costume and go back home, as he came to work drunk. The Puppeteer tries to take off RAT's mask, but they get into a fight. The RAT tries to choke the Puppeteer, but he pushes him towards the table with Vinnie on it, causing the actor inside RAT to fall and smash his head on the table's edge, killing him. CAT suddenly comes into the room and notices what the Puppeteer has done. He tells the Puppeteer that they need to call the police, but the Puppeteer wants to lie to the police and tell them they found RAT like this. CAT goes to the phone, but before the call could go through, the Puppeteer grabs his neck and strangles him to death. The Puppeteer calls the police, telling them that he found both his coworkers dead. However, he was unaware that Mary was watching everything happen through the closet.

The RAT as he is about to hit Mary's Brother while the adults and the other kids watch in shock and horror.
A year later, the theater reopens with RAT and CAT as animatronics with endoskeletons inside. On the day of the grand reopening, Mary's brother goes close to the RAT, leading RAT to injure him. Though the injury was non-fatal and the boy had made a full recovery, the Rat & Cat Theater was permanently closed, and the employee controlling the RAT was arrested even though it was not his fault.

Trivia[]
- During the Five Nights at Candy's 3 Minigames, the theater is on its 41st week. The show schedule of the week could also be read on a poster near the show stage:
- During the Night 4 Minigame, a girl at the arcade mentions that the current day is Vinnie's Birthday, which could be an extra show as it is still week 41. Week 41 also has The CAT's birthday instead.
- There are three arcade machines: two pinballs and one whack-a-mole machine. The last it's probably a reference to the extra minigame Cindy's Garden.
