This is a trivia sub-page related to Ralph.
General[]
- In the first three games, Ralph is voiced by the franchise's creator, Scott Cawthon, while his counterpart in Five Nights at Freddy's: Into the Pit is instead voiced by Patrick Hickey Jr.
- Unlike most voice actors in the Five Nights at Freddy's franchise, Scott uses his natural speaking voice when voicing Ralph.
- In a November 2014 interview with Clickteam LLC, Scott referred to Ralph in passing as "Phone Guy", as this was almost ten years before he would receive an official name with the release of Five Nights at Freddy's: The Week Before.[1]
- Ralph and William Afton being the same person is one of the few fan-theories that Scott later confirmed to be false.
Five Nights at Freddy's[]
- Ralph never hangs up his phone call on Night 4, as the call was abruptly disconnected instead.
- Before the Canon Ending of Five Nights at Freddy's: The Week Before revealed that Ralph was attacked by all four animatronics at once and was stuffed into a Freddy Fazbear plush suit, it was commonly theorized that he was stuffed inside of Chica, as a second row of smaller teeth can be seen in her mouth, as well as the fact that Chica will sometimes make very raspy, human-like groaning noises when close to the player. However, many debated that the teeth simply belong to the Endoskeleton inside the suit (as upon closer inspection, it is possible to see the same in Bonnie's mouth), and that the rasping noises are not specific to Chica, as Bonnie is known to make the same sounds.
- Likewise, some speculated that Ralph was not stuffed into Chica on Night 4, but into Golden Freddy instead. Evidence used to support this was that he has a limp, lifeless body that is in a position that is commonly adopted by dead bodies while sat down. It is also notable that, right before the phone call on Night 4 ends, Golden Freddy's kill sound can be heard.
- Curiously, a non-canon, alternate ending to Five Nights at Freddy's: The Week Before seems to be based off of this theory.
- It is also possible that Ralph was stuffed into one of the heads Backstage, as he asks the player to check inside the suits in the back room and always wondered what was inside them. This heavily implies that he knew he was going to die, and that he would be stuffed into an animatronic suit or head.

- Even when Ralph is talking to the player over the phone, it is important to keep an eye out for Freddy Fazbear and the other animatronics (he even tells the player this himself). If the player loses focus, they'll likely get attacked and stuffed into a Freddy suit soon after the message, sometimes even before it finishes.
- This is notable on later nights, as remaining idle can result in Foxy killing the player before Ralph has even finished speaking over the phone.
- The quotation from Autobiography of a Yogi on Night 5 is from a chapter in which Yogananda posits that metal has a life force. It is possible that this is in reference to the animatronics, who are made of metal but are alive.
- It is also worth noting that Ralph's messages are not deleted. With all the information given, it is peculiar that the company has not removed them or replaced them with standard legal information.
- In his phone call on Night 4, the banging sound emitted in the background is different from the one actually heard in-game when Foxy is at the door.
- Five Nights at Freddy's: The Week Before reveals that this is because all four animatronics were trying to enter the Office simultaneously.
- Anytime during the game, the player has the ability to mute Ralph's calls by clicking the button on the top left that reads "Mute Call". This can also be done in the second and third game.
- Every one of Ralph's phone calls is shorter than the last. This also applies to his training tapes in the third game.
- Ralph is the first character in the entire series to have voice acting.
- He and his third game's equivalent, Phone Dude, were also the only human characters in the core series to have voice acting prior to the release of Five Nights at Freddy's: Sister Location, and in the whole franchise prior to the release of FNaF World.
- On Night 5, the phone plays a sound that is similar to that of Golden Freddy.
Five Nights at Freddy's 2[]
- Ralph never explicitly states what his job is at the establishment, and always refers to everyone as "employees" and "management" instead of coworkers.
- Ralph gives his opinions on some of the animatronic characters in his phone calls, stating on Night 2 that he "loved those old characters" but never liked "that Puppet thing" because "it was always thinking" and "can go anywhere." He also states that Foxy was always his favorite on Night 3.
- On Night 6, Ralph seems to be very concerned, even though he tries hard to maintain his composure. It is possible he was worried about the usage of the springlock suit in the back. Nevertheless, it is also possible that he was angry with Jeremy Fitzgerald being there when the premises is on lockdown.
- This also supports the fact that Golden Freddy is active on Night 6.
- Ralph's dialogue in the trailer is never actually used in-game.
Five Nights at Freddy's 3[]
- Every one of Ralph's training tapes is shorter than the last. This also applies to his phone calls in the first game.
- Strangely, Ralph's training tapes state that Freddy Fazbear's Pizza has springlock suits, even though the last two previous games didn't have springlock animatronics.
Five Nights at Freddy's 4[]
- Although there are no phone calls in Five Nights at Freddy's 4, it is possible to hear Ralph's first phone call from the first game as an ambient sound, albeit lower pitched and reversed.
- In Five Nights at Freddy's: The Week Before, Ralph can dial "7-8-9-1" into the phone's voicemail system. This may be in reference to the previously mentioned ambient phone call in this game, as it also mentions The Bite of '87 when reversed.
Ultimate Custom Night[]
- Ralph, Trash and the Gang, Helpy, and Old Man Consequences are the only non-animatronic characters in the game's roster.
- All of Ralph's phone calls are simply recycled from the first three installments of the series.
- While not seen in-game, Ralph's icon reveals that the phone he calls through is blue.
- This is the first and only instance where Ralph functions as an antagonist capable of indirectly harming the player, as in every other one of his appearances, he has either provided crucial instructions or simply appeared for the purpose of ambience.
Errors[]
- Ralph's phone calls can be muted by Dee Dee and X.O.R. when they spawn in.
- Similarly, pressing the mute button while Dee Dee is on screen will immediately skip her song and instantaneously add a challenger.[2]
Five Nights at Freddy's: Help Wanted[]
- Five Nights at Freddy's: Help Wanted is the first game in the franchise where Scott Cawthon is fully credited as the voice actor for Ralph.
Five Nights at Freddy's: The Week Before[]
- Ralph was Employee of the Month 22 times during the span of his career.[3]
- Ralph halted rumours after The Bite of '87, earning him Employee of the Month with the prize being a special pizza named after him put on the menu known as "The Ralph".
- "The Ralph" only lasted 4 days, as it was unpopular due to it being an anchovy-artichoke pizza.[4]
- Ralph halted rumours after The Bite of '87, earning him Employee of the Month with the prize being a special pizza named after him put on the menu known as "The Ralph".
- Ralph has worked for Freddy Fazbear's Pizza for at least 11 years.
- This is confirmed after he listens to one of his own pre-recorded messages, stating his daughter has just been born at that time.[5]
- Ralph is revealed to be the one to have crafted and put up Pirate Cove's "-Sorry!- Out of Order" sign the day it closed.[6]
