The unnamed protagonist is the main character of Ultimate Custom Night.

History

During the events of the game, the protagonist is seemingly stuck in an eternal loop of facing up to 56 animatronic antagonists, with "The One You Should Not Have Killed" being a reoccurring mention.

Theories and Speculation

"I was the first! I have seen everything!" This section archives a lot of theories and speculation, which usually occurs from pre-release media, or just things that are still unknown, so please keep that in mind while reading. The page will continue to be updated with the most accurate information as more solid evidence is supplied.

• The UCN protagonist is speculated to be William Afton after the events of Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria Simulator, where he presumably dies.
  • The line "The one you should not have killed." is said by various characters, including Withered Chica, Mangle, Nightmare Freddy, and Jack-O-Chica.
    • Additionally, The One You Should Not Have Killed (TOYSNHK) is presumed to have taken over Happy Frog, Nedd Bear, and Orville Elephant to speak through them, using their voice box as, presumably, his voice whispers behind it.
  • The Puppet's line "I recognize you, but I'm not afraid of you... not anymore." and "Seeing you powerless is like music to me." is theorized that she's referring to Afton, who had killed Charlotte Emily who would go on to possess the Puppet.
    • Though, Puppet also says "I don't hate you, but you need to stay out of my way." Which could contradict it being William.
  • Nightmare Fredbear says "Let me put you back together, then take you apart all over again." which is a reference to Five Nights at Freddy's 4, where the Fredbear plush, who is also speculated to be William talking, tells the Crying Child that it'll put him back together.
  • Nightmare Freddy, Jack-O-Chica, Nightmarionne, Scrap Baby, and Music Man all tell the protagonist a version of them not being able to die, which could reference William's want to never die.
• It's also speculated that the protagonist is Michael Afton.
  • The Nightmare's are seemingly creations of artificial nightmares, those of which the FNaF 4 protagonist had, which is speculated and implied to be Michael within the Five Nights at Freddy's: Survival Logbook.
  • It's also speculated that Michael was the security guard in Five Nights at Freddy's 3, which could explain the appearances of the Phantom animatronics.
  • While completely cut from the final game, Pigpatch had a hidden line similar to the other Mediocre Melodies, A part of which says, "Or are you still so delirious and confused that you still think you are a night guard?"
    • This likely doesn't hold any weight due to it being cut and because of it relying on Mike Schmidt, Fritz Smith and/or the FNaF 3 guard being Michael Afton, which is all speculation.
