The unnamed protagonist is the main character of Five Nights at Freddy's: Help Wanted 2.

History

During the events of the game, the protagonist takes a part in a "Fazbear Orientation Program". An AR job training simulation, consisting of various minigames (some of them locked and presumably altered by Glitchtrap). Halfway through the game the protagonist is granted a Faz-Wrench. Using it they are able to open a previously locked metal door, and disable an AR Inhibitor, hidden inside the room. This allows the protagonist to take off their VANNI mask, revealing that they've been stuck inside the ruined remains of Freddy Fazbear's Pizza Place. Occasionally the protagonist is gifted a Faz-Force figure from Helpy, as an encouragement to complete more tasks. This however seems to be a trap, as collecting and combining all of the 6 figures leads into the "Helptrap" ending. Alternatively the protagonist can find 6 memory dolls hidden throughout various levels, giving them acces to the Princess Quest 4 arcade and its coresponding ending.

Theories and Speculation

"I was the first! I have seen everything!" This section archives a lot of theories and speculation, which usually occurs from pre-release media, or just things that are still unknown, so please keep that in mind while reading. The page will continue to be updated with the most accurate information as more solid evidence is supplied.

• The identity of the protagonist is often theorized to be the father of Cassie.
  • The protagonist is implied to be a parent, as Carnie says to the protagonist "Now you look like you've got kids. Win a prize for the little one!"
  • Cassie states that her dad owned a Faz-Wrench, and Mystic Hippo describes the Faz-Wrench as "familiar" to the player.
  • The protagonist seems to be a technician working at the Pizzaplex as suggested by their use of the Security Mask, similarly to Cassie's dad.
  • Glamrock Freddy states that we are a Fazbear Technician.
• The protagonist seems to have a connection with a Bonnie Mask implying a link to the Bonnie Bully from Five Nights at Freddy's 4.
• The achievement for collecting a memory doll is named "Remember Jeremy?", which could hint at the possibility that this is the same Jeremy that was mentioned in Help Wanted.
  • The achievement has a picture of the Bonnie memory doll, so it may instead be referring to the spirit possessing Bonnie.
  • The memory dolls represent people that died at the hands of William Afton. This could imply not only that Jeremy is dead, but also that Glitchtrap is William Afton.
• It is also theorized that he is Jeremy Fitzgerald from Five Nights at Freddy’s 2.
• The Protagonist might no longer have a physical body and is now trapped in the V.A.N.N.I. network.
  • Mystic Hippo calls out the VR hands we have both with and without the Security Mask "Do you ever look at your hands? I mean, really look at your hands?"
  • During the Princess Quest 4 minigame, the protagonist is potrayed as a digital figure.
  • Candy Cadet is seen as one of the "attractions" in the ruined version of the hub, contradicting his appereance in RUIN's underground storage room. Suggesting that the RL/Ruined hub may also be part of the fake reality.

Debunked Theories

• Before release, it was theorized that the player character was Cassie, trapped underneath the Pizzaplex after the events of RUIN.
  • Evidence:
    • The Faz-Wrench at the start of the first trailer.
    • Cassie has been shown to use the V.A.N.N.I. mask.
  • Debunking Evidence:
    • In the normal ending we see Cassie in a first person perspective.
    • The protagonist gives Roxanne Wolf the mask from her Ruined design as seen in the DLC making it impossible for Cassie to be the player character as she only arrived after Roxanne started wearing the mask.
    • The game seems to take place before the events of RUIN.
