Ty is one of Jeremiah's friends. He's a boyish-looking black guy with round, gold-framed glasses. Jeremiah met Ty and Matt in college, where they were all computer science majors obsessed with gaming. They would meet up in one of their dorm rooms and play games for hours, fueled by soda and junk food. While they were mostly immersed in their own game on a laptop or console, they would still trade enough banter to be social. Jeremiah would later learn from his psychology class that this was considered parallel play.
After college, Ty got a regular IT job with a fairly normal businesses and gets a steady girlfriend. Every Tuesday night, Jeremiah, Matt, and Ty will meet and play team trivia at Leonardo's Pizza. Ty and Matt jokingly express jealousy of Jeremiah's job, which they consider to be more glamourous than theirs. One night, Matt tells Ty he won't be much help with trivia as he's exhausted thanks to his son teething, and Ty comments that he's going to wait as long as possible before he starts a family of his own. Ty then asks Jeremiah about his job, and Jeremiah explains his recent interactions with Hope. While Matt makes numerous puns, Ty tells Jeremiah that it sounds promising and he should ask her out. Matt begins to chant and Ty joins him, only stopping once the pizza arrives. Later, Jeremiah texts them that he's going to ask Hope out, to which Ty responds with a thumbs up.
Unnamed Server[]
An unnamed server works at Leonardo's Pizza. She usually servers Jeremiah and his friends, and their weekly visits cause her to memorize their order of an extra-large pepperoni and mushroom pizza with three diet sodas.
