“How would you fix it if you did something really wrong and it was a long time ago but then you did it again recently and you can't apologize to the person you just did it to, but you're sorry and you want to make amends somehow?” |
Nole Markham is the main protagonist of Blackbird, the first story in Fazbear Frights 6: Blackbird. He is a cool young man who is haunted by an entity intent on punishing him for his mean behavior.
Physical Appearance[]
Nole is six-foot-one with blue eyes, an athletic build, and scruffy blond hair. He also has a white scar below his left knee from falling off his bike after being chased by a goose. Nole usually wears faded jeans, white shirts, a watch, and leather jackets when the weather allows it. He sleeps in just his white boxer briefs.
Personality[]
Nole tries to act cool and confident, usually with nonchalant posturing. He also enjoys having fun, which can make him somewhat of a slacker and clueless at times. Still, Nole cares about film enough to get serious and focus. He's also a minimalist, keeping very little in his room. Nole’s desire to be cool makes him act rather mean, ruthlessly bullying others in junior high. By college he still finds his past cruelty funny and has a habit of pushing too far and getting offensive with his jokes. However, Nole begins to reflect on his past and feels guilty over his actions, leading to him attempting to better himself as a person. When stressed, he’ll usually say his thoughts aloud. Nole can also usually sleep through anything, although his experiences with the Blackbird keep him up at night.
History[]
When Nole was in junior high school, he bullied a girl named Christine. Due to the poor state of her clothes, Nole subjected her to constant torment and even convinced his classmates to join in on the bullying.
Many years later, Nole confesses this to his friend, Sam, seemingly without regret. Sam begins to doubt his friend as he, too, was bullied for the fact that his legs were slightly larger than normal. Nole, however, doesn't take him seriously until Sam goes missing and grazed by a train. The Blackbird, a character that he and Sam had come up with, comes to life and begins to stalk Nole. Knowing the rules and lore he and Sam had written for the character, Nole believes that the Blackbird is trying to punish him for upsetting Sam. The only comfort Nole finds in the torment is when he's with and thinking of his new girlfriend, Amber. Nole asks Amber a question about guilt, and Amber explains that she thinks you need to apologize to the first person to make amends with the second. Nole decides to find Christine.
Nole searches for Christine, eventually going to her father who owns a local restaurant. He tells Christine's father about the situation and he takes Nole to her so he can apologize for what he did. Christine had persevered through the bullying and so had strengthened her wits, and so forgives Nole for his past actions.
Sam is found alive and Nole apologizes to him as well.
