At Sparky's Diner, Jane, Doug, Maxine and Jeff are at a booth when Ness comes over and says "Hey! Welcome to Sparky's! Can I set you folks up with some appetizers?". Whilst Doug is awaiting to order, Jane says they aren't eating, handing the menus he had passed out back to him. Ness responds "Well, that's no fun! You do realize that lunch is the most important meal of the day." Jeff then asks him confusedly "I thought it was breakfast.", and Ness replies "Some people say that but, y'know. It's just a theory." Jane then impolitely asks him to leave.

  • Ness' actor, MatPat, is first of the 2 YouTubers that appear in the film, the other being CoryxKenshin.
  • The lines "Hey!" and "It's just a theory." is a reference to the line MatPat, and the current hosts', says at the end of each of his videos: "But hey! That's just a theory!"
  • According to MatPat, Scott Cawthon specifically wanted his character to be named Ness, in direct reference to a rather infamous Game Theory video where MatPat theorized that Ness from EarthBound and Sans from Undertale were the same character.
  • In the trailer that MatPat was staying in, there was a rubber chicken head pencil topper that he put in the film.
  • According to MatPat, his scene took 8 hours to shoot.
  • MatPat took the Ness nametag and the rubber chicken head pencil topper home after shooting his scene.
  • According to the novel, "Ness" is a teenager, and his father is the owner of Sparky's, as mentioned by Maxine, meaning his father's likely first name or nickname is Sparky.
