myPOPGOES is a Pixel Chix-inspired spin-off game for the POPGOES series by Kane Carter. The "free version" was initially released on Game Jolt on April 3, 2024, as a late April Fools' joke. Kane then announced a paid, expanded version of myPOPGOES that would release on Steam, published by Clickteam LLC as part of the Fazbear Fanverse Initiative.[1][2] The expanded version of the game was released on August 1, 2024, as a part of the Five Nights at Freddy's 10-year anniversary lineup.[3]
Summary[]
POPGOES is an official Five Nights at Freddy's spin-off series, produced by Scott Cawthon and developed by fans as part of the "Fazbear Fanverse Initiative".
myPOPGOES is a short and simple resource management minigame, where you take care of an extremely needy weasel named Popgoes. Housed in an adorable plastic LCD toy, your new pixelated best friend will need pizza, fizzy drinks, and only the best entertainment provided by Freddy Fazbear himself. And if Popgoes doesn't receive what he desperately needs, he passes out. Or maybe he straight up dies. Up to your imagination.
Featuring...
- Simple but quite addictive "survival" gameplay, with super minimalistic controls!
- Lots of familiar faces from the POPGOES and Five Nights at Freddy's game series!
- A nostalgic theme, with practically all gameplay happening in a 2000s plastic LCD toy!
What's in the Steam version?
- Playable challenges in the base game style, like the Sticky, Expire, and Blind modes!
- Entirely new minigames, like Longest Popgoes, Fishing, and Topping Juggle!
- Unlockable playable characters, stickers, character sheets, diary entries, and more!
And don't be misled by this game's surreal premise and its modest gameplay - it is a canon entry in the POPGOES timeline, with real lore implications, unlockable character information, and plenty of interesting story tidbits! If you're a fan of the POPGOES series, then give it a go!
Plot[]
In April 2023, Bonnie Glade is helping her father Fritz Glade retrieve a toolbox from the attic when she discovers an old LCD toy in a chest. She then reminisces about her 10th birthday in 2008, opening a card and present from her father that contains the toy.
Bonnie progresses through the game on the toy until she completes Day 5, the final day. She then returns to the present day of 2023, and after she agrees to come back downstairs, it is revealed that the chest contains her body in a Toy Bonnie mask and black clothing shortly before the game cuts to black.
In the Complete ending, the camera zooms onto the statue in the middle of the toy before cutting to a video showcasing the "unwithered" Withered Animatronics as they existed in a Freddy Fazbear's Pizza location.
In the Secret ending, Bonnie accesses multiple hidden secrets throughout the machine's minigames, discovering the heads of each Toy Animatronic along the way. Once all are found, a diary entry from an unknown date is unlocked detailing her conversations with "Marylin" about "Mary" as well as "The Violet Project".
In a hidden screen unlocked by fully completing the game, a set of letters can be seen that spell out "BRING BACK MY BONNIE TO ME". The chest seen in the game can be seen floating as a mysterious and cloudy black gas seeps through its cracks.
Gameplay[]
In myPOPGOES, the player controls a digital Popgoes the Weasel as he spends his day at Freddy Fazbear's Pizza. Popgoes can remain engaged by maintaining his levels of thirst, hunger, and entertainment. These levels are represented by bars on the top left of the player's screen. Popgoes can maintain his entertainment level by listening to music at the center of the pizzeria at a table. He can also eat pizzas here, which can be baked to the right of the table. To the left, Popgoes can drink water to maintain his thirst. If any of the bars fully deplete, Popgoes will fall over and a speech bubble containing whatever meter ran out will appear, ending the day. There are a total of five days which increase in difficulty over time.
In the paid and expanded version of the game, the player can choose to control the other animatronics as well as Manora rather than Popgoes. Multiple challenges as well as an endless mode are added, all of which utilize the Day 5 statistics as a base. Each challenge is named and applies a minor obstacle to the gameplay. In the "Sticky Floors" challenge, the player will occasionally stop when moving back and forth and will be forced to mash keys to escape. In the "Expiring Pizzas" challenge, the player's pizzas will expire over time and will be automatically discarded. In the "Mini-Pizzas" challenge, pizzas cook faster but do not recover as much of the hunger bar as standard pizzas. In the "Coin Collect" challenge, the player must collect ten coins that periodically spawn in the paths to the machines in order to win even if 6AM is reached. In the "Blind Resources" challenge, the final quarter of the resource bar is obscured.
Several minigames in which the player can only play as Popgoes are also added in the expanded version. In "Fishing" the player must collect twenty fish of the proper type without missing or grabbing the wrong fish. If they hit the floor with their fishing rod or collect the wrong type of fish, they will lose a life. When all three lives are lost, the minigame ends. In "Topping Juggle", the player must juggle 64 different toppings from the left side of the screen to the right while bagging utensils that fall to the ground. Failing to bag a utensil, bagging a topping, or letting either fall to the ground will result in the loss of 5 lives. If all 5 are lost, the minigame ends. In "Longest Popgoes", the player must play a traditional "Snake" game and collect 40 different pizzas that increase Popgoes' length by 1. Touching the wall or any part of Popgoes will end the minigame. In "Pest Control", the player must quickly press a combination of three keys to get rid of a total of 64 pests. Mice also occasionally appear and require a combination of five keys to be removed, but take out all other pests on the screen with them. In "Whack a Rabbit", the player must gain points by playing "Whack-a-Mole" and hitting the heads of rabbits as well as Morse the Mole. In the first stage, only rabbits appear and move three stages up before attacking Popgoes, making him lose a life. In the second stage (which begins at 40 points), Morse takes over and begins poking his less visible head out of the hole, though some other fake animals will disguise themself as Morse (indicated by three sparks above their head), stunning Popgoes when hit. During the final stage, Morse takes over the center hole and cannot be fully removed, though he moves quicker than the other animals and can be reset to his first stage when hit. The minigame ends when the player obtains 128 points or loses all three of their mallets (lives) by either not attacking an enemy in time or missing.
In each minigame, the player may also discover a variety of secrets by accessing glitched sections of the game. These secrets are required in order to access the Secret Ending.

On March 31, 2023, Kane posted on Game Jolt, and at the end of the post, there is a black image. When brightened up, a teaser for myPOPGOES is revealed, showcasing an attic and the words "Toy" and "Coming soon.".[4] On April 1, 2023, Kane shared the unedited teaser.[5] Later that day, Kane made another post saying that the game isn't quite ready and revealed that the title is his April Fool's project. He also said that the game is canon to the rebooted POPGOES series. He also made a Game Jolt page for the title.[6] On April 2, 2023, Kane made another post saying that they needed one more day to release the title. He also scheduled a release trailer for the title that would go live along with the title.[7] On April 3, 2023, the title was revealed to be myPOPGOES, along with the release of the trailer and game. [8] Later, Kane made a FAQ on Twitter to answer questions like "Is this a part of the Fanverse?", "Do you have any plans for updates?", "Are you adding more to this / is this going on Steam?" and many more.[9] On April 4, 2023, myPOPGOES received an update, putting the game at version 1.1.0.[10] On April 5, 2023, Kane revealed that he pitched myPOPGOES to Scott Cawthon, with Kane saying, "I revealed the game to Scott, showed some things off, and he said he "LOVES" the look of the game and that he was a huge fan of old LCD games when he was younger." Further down the post, he said they will continue to polish the free version of the title and begin the premium version content.[11] Later on, myPOPGOES was updated to version 1.1.1.[12] On April 7, 2023, myPOPGOES was updated to version 1.1.2.[13] Later, Kane posted to Game Jolt with info on myPOPGOES. He says the "Toy" title was referring to a literal kid's toy and that all the cutscenes are handdrawn by Turntail and the toy model was made by NeeTroo. He also added that he released an FAQ on Twitter, updated the title, emailed Scott to add the game to the Fanverse, released TikTok "ads," and so on.[14] On April 10, 2023, Kane posted to Game Jolt asking for sticker ideas for myPOPGOES, saying they don't have to be canon to the game, its setting, or the place in the timeline, and that his current idea is that the toy will have five slots for stickers with a choice of maybe 30 stickers.[15] On April 14, 2023, Kane showed off a portion of a toy skin themed off of Five Nights at Candy's and showed an unlockable character, Manora the Mouse. At the end of the myPOPGOES segment in the post, Kane shared an image with red boxes showing where the stickers will be placed, and a pizza sticker is seen at the bottom.[16] On April 21, 2023, Kane shared some sneak peeks for new things for the expanded version of myPOPGOES, with a new menu featuring the logo, another sticker of Origami Cat, a few mockups of a burger sprite for the FNaC toy skin, and a blurry image of the new Bonnie Glade lore. He goes on to say that NeeTroo has completed the toy models and said he was also going to make a Fredbear's Family Diner toy skin but thought it would be redundant, so it's most likely scrapped. Kane is also getting NeeTroo to make "character cartridges" that will represent the unlockable characters.[17] On April 28, 2023, Kane shared more details on the expanded version of myPOPGOES, sharing the design of Sara's character cartridge and a behind-the-scenes image of what the cartridges will look like in the toy, along with an in-game look. Kane also shared that Patata has also started working on game challenges, with an example of one called "Mini-P," which makes pizzas cook much faster by two chucks instead of the normal four but doesn't restore nearly as much hunger. And the expanded version will support WASD and mouse controls.[18] On May 5, 2023, Kane shared more details, saying that their still-testing challenges, tests on a new reward of colored Popgoes, stickers of Sara the Squirrel, Saffron the Squirrel, and Stone the Crow's Arcade versions, and work for Spanish translation for myPOPGOES have begun.[19] On May 11, 2023, Kane shared Saffron's cartridge, and he noted that exciting things are happening behind-the-scenes for myPOPGOES but can't share anything yet.[20] On May 26, 2023, Kane shared that development has continued for myPOPGOES, showing screenshots of color-coded Popgoeses to represent the other characters as they aren't done yet. He also shared a screenshot showing the unique stats for the characters and a teaser of what the stickers will look like.[21] On June 3, 2023, Kane shared that Manora is now in the game and mostly working on Android.[22] On September 11, 2023, Kane shared in an update that myPOPGOES is getting work done and will still need a few months to be finished. Though he has been given zero updates on when it will enter the Fanverse.[23] On October 8, 2023, Kane Carter announced some content related to the upcoming Steam version of the game. It was revealed that a Steam page for the game was supposed to exist by then but was delayed due to issues with Clickteam and Scott and the prioritization of the upcoming Five Nights at Freddy's film. It was also revealed that, other than Popgoes the Weasel, the player would be able to play as Blake the Badger, Sara the Squirrel, Saffron the Squirrel, Stone the Crow, and Manora the Mouse. They were initially planned to have different stats, but the concept was scrapped due to its unnecessary complexity.[24] On January 25, 2024, it was announced that major developments about myPOPGOES would be announced soon.[25] On February 1, 2024, it was announced that myPOPGOES had officially joined the Fazbear Fanverse and that the game would have a Steam page in mid-2024, continuing until development on the premium version of the game was completed after "some other stuff" was finished.[26] On April 1, 2024, myPOPGOES' Steam page was released.[27] On April 27, 2024, Kane posted an updated for all of his projects. For myPOPGOES, he revealed that they are mostly done but still working on menu navigation, subtitles, balance, and working on the new minigames. He also stated that they have a release date planned for Steam.[28] On June 19, 2024, the official Scottgames Twitter/X account confirmed that myPOPGOES will be released on August 1, 2024, as part of the 10-year anniversary.[29] On July 23, 2024, Kane made an update post saying, myPOPGOES will be $4.99, with a potential 20% "launch discount"; the game will have 21 achievements, 18 "fairly normal" achievements that will represent beaten levels, and 3 "unique" ones. He adds that the game will also have an in-game achievement menu with artwork by SilverxCristal; there will be brand new music like atmospheric tracks by Radiarc and new chiptune music by the new POPGOES member KamilFirma; More lore than they previously planned that explores the Bonnie Glade character; Spanish translations, which are exclusive to myPOPGOES; The game is still set for the August 1 release, but he warns that the deadline means there might be minor visual or balance issues at launch. The mobile port for myPOPGOES is already in development and could release before 2025, and there are currently no plans for DLC or major updates. On August 1, 2024, myPOPGOES released on Steam. The same day, it was announced that a full recode would be introduced at an unknown date (originally the month of August) in response to a variety of bugs that were discovered as well as criticism. On August 6, 2024, the game was updated to version 1.1.[30] Few hours later, the game was updates to version 1.1.1.[31] |

New and Improved![]

New and Improved! is a major content updated set to release in January 2025.
Reception[]
Reception for the original myPOPGOES release was very positive, with praise directed towards the game's artstyle and story hinting at details of Bonnie Glade's past prior to her initial introduction in POPGOES Arcade. Some criticisms were directed towards the difficulty of Day 5, which some found to be very difficult and repetitive compared to the rest of the game.
The paid and expanded release received less positive reception at its launch. Though the story content and art style as well as the amount of general improvements made were praised, the game was heavily criticized for a variety of bugs it shipped with as well as the extremely high difficulty of later nights. Some noted that it took them several hours to complete most if any of the challenges, despite Kane Carter stating that the game would take "2-3 hours to 100%". Some of the minigames, particularly Topping Juggle, were also criticized due to their length, unintuitive visual design, and difficulty. Due to negative reception and the amount of bugs present at launch, Kane announced that he and his team would be entirely recoding the game over the course of August, with it set to release at an unknown date.
Trivia[]
- Before the idea was scrapped, the other playable characters were planned to have stats different from Popgoes'. Popgoes would have vanilla stats, and Blake (the only character with their stats revealed) was going to have a higher resistance to thirst and boredom but lower speed and thirst resistance.
- One of the challenges named "Mini-P" is a reference to the enemy from Scott Cawthon's troll game FNaF World: Halloween Edition, also named Mini-P.
