“The Mega Pizzaplex is closed. Leave the premises or I will be forced to call security.” |
The Mop Bots are S.T.A.F.F. Bots employed as Freddy Fazbear's Mega Pizzaplex's janitors in Five Nights at Freddy's: Security Breach. They are also the first class of S.T.A.F.F. Bots ever encountered in the game, with the second being the Security Bots.
Physical Appearance[]
They share the same basic model designs like most S.T.A.F.F. Bots and always use the sweeper/mop as their only cleaning equipment.
Functionality[]
The bots' typical job is to clean up around the Pizzaplex, at least by mopping or sweeping the floors.
They either stand still or roll around slowly, sweeping/mopping the ground as they do so. If Gregory comes close to them, they will look at him and motion for him to move away, whilst cautioning him to leave, since the PizzaPlex is closed, threatening to alert the PizzaPlex's security team if Gregory does not comply. If he does so again, the Mop Bot will issue a final warning for Gregory to leave. If this warning goes unheeded, the cleaner bot will sound an alarm, alerting nearby glamrock animatronics to his location. This mainly applies to the Mop Bot seen at the front of the building, other Mop Bots in other areas of the facility will more immediately alert other animatronics to Gregory's position. If Gregory is crouching, Mop Bots will not detect him, no matter how close he gets.
Role[]
The very first Mop Bot can be found cleaning behind Monty's gates (which will later be opened after upgrading Glamrock Freddy with Monty's claws) from the Utility Tunnels' stairway. The second Mop Bot is encountered at the Lobby Entrance, where it was found surrounded by a couple of Wet Floor Bots while the bot itself is idly cleaning the floor.
Trivia[]
- The Mop Bots are one of the non-passive S.T.A.F.F. Bots of the game, with others being the Security Bots, Alien Bots, and Nightmarionne S.T.A.F.F. Bots.
- There is a bug that sometimes cause the Mop Bots' sweeper/mop to float a couple inches away from their hands.
- Another bug will cause the Mop Bots to move extremely slowly especially when coming close together (and sometimes clip into each other), making the player harder to avoid. This happens frequently at the staff laundry locations.
- From the game's initial release, the first Mop Bot will tell Gregory that the pizzeria is closed and threatens to sound the alarm if he does not back away. This can be heard from the Lobby Entrance, but due to the glitch, the chance of hearing the bot's dialogue is very rare. As the result, they were removed in the game's first update patch, and was finally re-added in the new update as of May 24, 2022.
- Some Mop Bots' unused dialogue clips can be also located in the game files.
- A leaked prototype of the game for the PlayStation 4 revealed that the Mop Bot's dialogue was originally fully functional, but become bugged at some point prior to the full release of the game.
