“Have you still had nightmares since we last met? Were they about those monsters you drew for me last time?” |
Monster Rat is the monstrous version of the Rat conjured in the nightmares of Mary Schmidt. He is the main antagonist of Five Nights at Candy's 3.
Physical Appearance[]
Monster Rat is a beastly, deranged depiction of the original Rat with muscular, organic skin connected by metallic joints. He has glowing red eyes with black sclera and large rat ears that are connected to his head. Carrying over from the Rat, metallic pins run across the creature's limbs, stitching along his face and torso. He has sharp teeth that protrude from his organic mouth and a long metallic tail that he can move at will, using it to close doors. He also has very pointed fingernails and large metallic claws for feet.
Role[]
Monster Rat can exit from any of the three entrances that the room has, that is, the door (located on the left), a closet (located in the center) and another closet (located on the right). When Monster Rat is seen peeking out of one of the entrances, the player has to shine and hold their flashlight in his eyes to make him leave. If he isn't moving fast enough, he will enter the room, and the player should shine the light in his eyes as he moves his head trying to avoid the flashlight. If this is not done, he will attack the player.
After temporarily shining him in the eyes, he will hide under the bed, where he will try to stop the tape from playing. If the player doesn't look under the bed, he will attack. When checking under the bed, see which side he is on, and get out from underneath the bed immediately. If the player stares at Monster Rat for too long, he will attack. When he turns up, the player must to point to the opposite side of the Monster Rat, and listen to the creaking noise he makes when he comes out. When he reveals himself, aim the flashlight straight into his eyes for a few seconds, and then he'll run out of the room, either through the door or the closet on the right.
As the nights progress, he becomes more active, reacts a little faster, and be more likely to enter the room. This gets even more complicated if Monster Cat starts becoming active.
Trivia[]
- The original name for the Monsters was going to be "Nightmare" to mimic FNaF 4. In a Reddit comment, Emil stated the reason why it was changed to "Monster," stating, "The Monsters aren't meant to be animatronics, they're meant to be living creatures. Notice how I didn't give the Rat massive spiky teeth, or those metally ridged eyes. He's not withered either, unlike the Nightmares. All these differences is actually what made me change him from Nightmare Rat to Monster Rat."[1]
