Ah nonsense don't apologise for that, creating something of quality takes time. I was more than happy to wait after all there was always the threads and scripts to keep the hype for the vid alive for me as well.
I can't even remember how many cuts I had to make in the audio to try and remove Spit Clicks, or how often I had to re-record things to try and get ride of them. Eventually having to re-phrase things to avoid syllable combinations that set off the clicks.
I have no idea how voice actors do all of this, live, without sounding like some sort of fish people. Seems I have a lot to learn.
"We never got a direct look at the Kitchen in FNAF 1, it was always shrouded in darkness with the video offline. But we do know from FNAF 4’s background sounds that the Afton House had a kitchen. Perhaps the reason the FNAF 1 kitchen was never on camera was that it was actually looking into the Afton House, which was right next door to Freddy’s? This would also stack with how the side of the house in FNAF 4 was literally touching Fredbear’s Family Diner."
I'm trying to remember if I skipped it on purpose, or just spaced it out. I'll put it back in.
If you want to stay anonymous, that's your call. Most people do that online anyways, I'm probably a bit of a freak because I don't. And I don't mind it if other people do.
However.. if someone uses their anonymous status as a shield they feel they can snipe behind, feeling as if they're being so clever by doing so... I'm going to be equally clever in return by trying to break that shield.
Please.. be civil. I'm not asking you to leave.. I'm not even asking you to agree with me. Theorists have to disagree sometimes to make progress, and I'd prefer people to be brutally honest with me than try to say something they think I'd like to hear.
But if all you're going to do is try to make me feel terrible all the time, then there's little point in us talking at all.
Wednesday is the release date for what? Halloween?
Well, at least your monsters are still outside.
I've been having nightmares about being possessed by Shadow Bonnie for years now. And they started the moment I got the idea that RXQ was actually the one controlling Springtrap.
It was at a time I was feeling great anger and despair, after I watched... (no, best not to go there). But it was as if all those negative thoughts suddenly congealed, took shape, and tried to take me over.
I felt like I had a gun not just to my head, but my soul as well. And there was only one way I could possibily get out of this situation alive.
I had to solve FNAF. Or at least prove that it had a real story.
I realize I've been obsessive in this quest of mine for some time, and didn't react well to distractions that were thrown in my way. But I had monsters of my own I had to fight. And compared to those, disagreements with other theorists paled in comparison.
Usually, we have nightmares because something is bothering us. That there's something we have to do.
I'm doing everything I can to be clear about what I see, in the hopes that I can give FNAF a good ending after all of the horror.
I'm sorry I had to lock it down Ferret, things were escalating and I'm sure you like me have had enough of the tense atmosphere. Feel free to start up again if you want I just couldn't stand by and watch that anymore I'm sure you understand.
My original plan was to consult the admins on how to handle the thread but due to the delayed response and the continued decline of the thread I decided to take decisive action. I'm letting Hopper go because I want the both of you to move on from this. However, should he or anyone on this Wiki for that matter start a scene like that again I will immediately report it to the admins. The only reason I did not do that in this scenario is due to as I said the response.
Regardless of what you feel Hopper's problem may or may not be if there is another argument it will result in the banning of an account as I will have every intention of reporting it from the get go if it happens again. It is ultimately the Admins who decide the guilty party and who is to be banned so all I ask of you Ferret is that you not be the one to start an argument and that if Hopper or anyone attempts to get hostile you are to report it pronto instead of engaging in fruitless arguments.
The same goes for Hopper, if he is attacked also then he also has the right to report somebody and ultimately the Admins will determine the outcome. So for both of your sakes refrain from ever letting this happen again because it will not be me who makes the decision on who gets banned.
On a more positive note I look forward to your video Ferret and wish you well in general. I shall be off to bed now, until the next time.
Yeah I think we all needed a breather after all the ruckus. Hopefully this one'll be better and we can go forwards with a spring in our step. Been reading up on your Undertale stuff, the Asriel and Sans/Frisk stuff is definitely some good vid material. Any thoughts on the new Mew Mew boss fight and Undertale 2 possibly being teased?
Well, Mew Mew is another attempt at the Angry Dummy Ghost to get a new body.
Ghosts and their exact nature are definitely an important lore detail in Undertale. And directly relevant to Gaster himself since he's the ghost of a human mad scientist. Mad Dummy and Napstablook are just getitng us ready for the big show.
Also, the Amalgamates are the only creatures besides actual ghosts who seem to have the ability to shapeshift. And Amalgamates and Ghosts have.. a lot in common? The spider boss said someone who could shapeshift paid her to collect Frisk's soul for them. This might be Gaster, too.
Well yes I suppose in a way it has, at the very least it tells us Asriel did not revert back into Flowey and has managed to retain his original form. Perhaps the impending sequel may work in your favour just as SL did. I still remember the days when mad science in FNAF was seen as a ridiculous notion until SL and TTO jammed so much blatant Sci-Fi onto the surface it became impossible to ignore.
...and I was wondering what the AFH would look like without horcruxes. Naturally I berated myself "Star you idiot, horcrux is in the title how the bloody hell would you make Ferret's theory model work without horcruxes?" But then I thought back to TFC Charlie who more or less was given life by tears and it'd be more apt to say she were a duplicate rather than attached to the OG Charlie's human soul which is a point hammered home in that book. So I thought 'okay so say that the Afton family's soul transfers went much smoother and there was no soul splitting what then would that mean for the family tree and the story overall?'
Well okay lets say hypothetically we run through the AFH but instead of splitting souls the family makes robot duplicates TFC style. Charlie becomes an android through JJ and then SF except she's a whole soul so then that leaves the Puppet in need of something Charlie related; perhaps an artificial soul meant to resemble Charlie made by Will as some sort of remorse. Anyway Charlie is the hardest character to make work with this self imposed hypothetical so lets move on to easier members of the Afton family. Sammy transferred into SB completely that one's easy as pie so lets leave BB haunted by a SAVETHEM victim and Classic Bonnie be haunted by the MCI victim. Important to note; OG classics/withered and Toys should be haunted by victims of MCI and SAVETHEM i.e. whole souls so as to avoid confusion. MCI victims can still be androids only TFC style duplicates rather than horcruxes. Okay I think I'll just lay out what this hypothetical would look like to save time explaining:
Charlie = SF (temporarily inhabited JJ)
Sammy = SB (temporarily inhabited BB)
William = Mangle (with AI of dead wife)
William's wife = part of SB
Henry = Fredbear
Phone Guy = Robo Henry
Michael = himself as an android (devoured by SF for a while)
Golden Freddy = Robo Michael
Foxy = Robo Henry (kiddie version)
Lamar = himself
Chica = Robo Lamar
Bonnie = Robo Sammy
Freddy = nameless spirit of MCI victim (was controlled in FNAF 1 by Michael and Charlie respectively)
Yellowbear = Unstable fusion of Robo Michael and Charlie
Puppet = AI based on Charlie.
Baby = memories of Elizabeth
Elizabeth = Ennard
Scrap Baby = fusion of Baby and Elizabeth hence the duality of personality.
TL;DR version: Essentially the hypothetical is replacing horcruxes with robo clones just to see what it would look like.
I'll stop before this becomes too much of a ramble, just though I'd share some thoughts I had on the AFH and a possible alternate explanation using TFC...it's also kind of to assure you that despite what Ocean thought your theories are worth a think about.
Henry managed it with Ella, granted Baby does say she contains a piece of Henry's Soul but in reality it seems all he really did was cry into the doll and William at one point describes it as Henry properly creating life instead of pre-existing life merely transferred into a metallic vessel. I just thought it was quite cool to think about because that way it can explain how the Afton members' discarded bodies could become essentially new lifeforms of their own, of course I'm not expecting you to use it as you're probably way too into the recording phase now but just thought I'd share with you the possibility that instead of horcruxes the Afton family are using robo clones so to speak. The basic idea is that the soul transfer process fully transfers all the soul but the Aftons have the ability to create new life and put it into their old robot bodies that still contain their memories effectively creating a clone so to speak. Of course there would still be special individuals such as the Puppet but it would help distinguish the Afton Family tree more clearly.
The original human souls of the Afton family would essentially end up in one character whilst the rest are duplicates of some nature. A visual representation of this train of thought goes along the lines of:
William = Mangle
William's Wife = Devoured by Shadow Bonnie
Henry = Fredbear of FNAF 6
Henry's Wife = Cupcake
Michael -= Purple Guy in Blue trousers
Elizabeth = Scrap Baby (either existed in Baby or Ennard prior to this with the other being a duplicate of sorts with her memories)
Lamar = Himself because he survives FNAF 6
Charlie = Shadow Freddy
Sammy = Shadow Bonnie
And now for the robot duplicates:
William duplicate = Created by the OG William before he became Mangle
William's Wife's duplicate = AI created by William and downloaded into Mangle's spare endo head
Foxy Bro = Henry's old child body given its own life, later becomes Foxy
Bonnie Bully = Effectively some sort of duplicate of Sammy that becomes Bonnie
Chica Bully = Lamar's old child body given its own life, later becomes Chica
Ballora = AI based off of Henry's Wife
Michael's duplicate = His old child body given its own life, becomes Golden Freddy
Scraptrap = Possible duplicate created by the pre-existing William duplicate who now exists as Springtrap
Puppet = AI created from Charlie's memories that Will extracted from her corpse that Henry left in TCTTC
Phone Guy = One of Henry's old android bodies given it's own life, becomes Old Man Consequences
Lamar duplicate = FNAF 6 protagonist
There are probably more, if I missed anything let me know but essentially the only change this is making is a metaphysical one.
Well, it's something to think about for future videos. Still have to go back and do a line-by-line breakdown of Book 3, it's just that if I don't focus fire on AFH I'm not going to get it done this year.
I was reading through my downloaded version of the AFH version 3 and I've been chewing over the idea that the retcon where Scott alters the characters of Henry and William in terms of personality and I was wondering if it's possible for FFPS to still fit using pre-retcon depictions of Henry and William.
1-4 Henry/Phone Guy comes off as a cowardly, conniving, bitter and egotistical dick but he's also got just reasons for being that way. William shunned him, denied him his rightful place as his successor to the Afton business despite the fact he was eminently more qualified for the role than Michael all because he fell in love with a woman of a different ethnicity. From there on I understand he essentially catered to the Shadows' whims until Nega Charlie devoured him. Old Man Consequences, if he is a manifestation of Henry it could show that during the time he spent trapped by Nega Charlie it allowed him to reflect on his mistakes and so when he got free by the time of FNAF 6 he resolved to put an end to the horror. Basically instead of being retconned you could say that Henry instead came to his senses during his punishments dealt by Nega Charlie and emerged a different man from it with a new voice, new goal and new outlook to boot.
As for William, he seems to be the origin of the tragedy as it was his racial bigotry that spurred Henry, indoctrinated Michael and basically caused the whole blooming mess. His attempts to fix this could've been purely self interest for his work as a scientist and desiring to take back the control Henry had wrestled from him. You were even surprised when it turned out William had after being freed from Shadow Bonnie let Michael face the horror of Sister Location in true cowardly fashion. Of course, I'm not saying that William need be interpreted in a completely negative light as I do think you can still work in the fact he didn't kill anyone (minus Nega Sammy and Charlie) and that perhaps after sacrificing a part of his soul to save his wife out of love it drained any empathy out of him making him even worse. Which effectively means that William could do all the things said in the AFH and still end up neatly coinciding with what we see in Scraptrap. I don't know your thoughts on who we are in UCN but either way you go on that front I definitely feel that you could actually smoothly connect your portrayal of 1-4 William and Henry with SL-5 William and Henry.
Basically, Henry sees the light after he's released and Afton while not being nearly as bad as his novel counterpart is still a fractured and hateful character. This is just a suggestion of course.
Argh, I didn't see this post at all. I think I'm losing track of messages.
I'm still confused by Old Man Consequences a bit. It seems like he must be Henry in FNAF World, and yet if he's Henry in UCN, then WE can't be Henry. And if William is the one screaming, then Old Man Consequences would be.. Michael?
Don't worry about it man, you're hard at work making good stuff so I don't mind waiting. This was just a neat little fix I thought up where you wouldn't have to get messy with Henry and William's roles and instead have consistent character outlines for the 2 of them throughout FNAF 1-6. Of course my own thinking on the AFH has moved on quite a bit so this thread may be a little dated but I'm still incredibly grateful you gave it the time of day.
We've seen part of the story. But I doubt we've seen all of it yet.
Until I get an explaination for why Pink Diamond looks like a monsterous Titan in Gemcation, to why the show made such a huge point about Pink being small and Off-Color, I don't think we know the whole story yet.
True but at this point the simple fact of the matter is that old title got to go. Look at the bright side though, the 2 major players in your theory just became 1 so hey your job is now a hella lot easier.
It's never quite as simple as people want to think with these theories:
Hello Everyone, this is BlackfootFerret.
If you’ve a Steven Universe fan, you’ve probably heard about the two new episodes: “Can’t Go Back” and “A Single Pale Rose”. And that they’ve caused a huge controversy.
Although most SU theory channels have already revealed it, the MASSIVE SPOILER warning is in full effect. This is a Pacific Rim Kaiju class spoiler, the kind that says “Hello Robot, I’m going to eat your Gawking Face!’ What happened was so big and transformative to the series that the official Steven Universe twitter account publish public video links so anyone could immediately watch them for free.
I’ve included links to this Twitter post in the text box below. So if you haven’t already seen Can’t Go Back and A Single Pale Rose, stop this video and watch them before someone spoils the surprise for you.
So with the spoiler warning done, it’s time to deal with the bombshell.
In “Can’t Go Back”, Steven finds Lapis on the Moon, and discovers her using an observation orb to spy on the Crystal Gems who she wants to return to, but is afraid to join in case the Diamonds return. After a new song and some heartwarming catching up, Steven has a sudden dream of Blue Diamond talking to Pink, and then a shadow of Pearl creeping up behind Pink with Rose’s sword in a menacing manner.
In “A Single Pale Rose”, Steven asks Pearl about this dream, only to find something prevents her from talking about it. Instead.. Pearl sends Steven insider her gem to find her cell phone, talking to several different versions of her in the process, until he reaches the memory of the day Rose supposedly shattered Pink.
Only to find that not only didn’t Rose shatter Pink.. but Rose actually WAS Pink Diamond. That Pink, who Steven has always been taught was the enemy, was actually his mother. That one of the Diamonds is part of his own fusion, explaining his amazing powers!
This story is of special importance to me. Because 15 months ago I made a video called “Rose Quartz Ate Pink Diamond”, a theory with a twist ending where Pink actually gifted her powers to Rose to found the Crystal Gems. I clarified and expanded this idea even more in the Followup two months ago. And a week ago in my leak reaction “Don’t Give Up!”, where I argued that spoilers or not, there was still a lot left to discover in the show.
And now, over a year after the original theory, some, but not all, of the points I made long ago turned out to be true.
Steven does have the power of Pink Diamond. Pink Diamond supported the Crystal Gems. Many theorists have claimed Rose Quartz was Pink Diamond over the years, and now what once seemed like a crazy theory is finally getting its time in the sun. And I did a lot of groundwork to show why this was a viable possibility.
I should be happy. I should be over the Moon! But it feels hollow.. Because with this news it seems like the fandom is having a second crisis in so many weeks.
Many theorists reacted to the reveal with horror. For those who followed the show for years, theory confirmations are much more often a time for broken dreams than celebration. Only more so when a radical, seemingly improbable theory is confirmed. Shock and disbelief ruled the day.
Worse still, it began to turn into despair and anger. People lashed out at Pink, calling her a horrible character, worse even than the other Diamonds and their campaign to destroy all organic life. And a gathering of Youtube SU theorists held shortly after the reveal seemed to agree that Steven being Pink was a terrible creative decision that seemed to go nowhere, and might even spell the doom of the show!
So, I feel the first thing I should do is calm some fears and put out some fires.
The show is in perfect health. The Crewniverse revealed in a recent tweet that Steven being Pink Diamond was one of the very first plot details they agreed on, even before production began. All the amazing stories we’ve enjoyed for years have been leading up to this point, and considering how much we’ve loved Steven Universe so far, I doubt they would insist on this plot point unless they had big plans in mind.
Just because we’re finally getting answers about Pink doesn’t mean that the show is over, there are many stories in Steven Universe. The mysterious Laps. White Diamond. The Interstellar War Pink Diamond was a refugee from according to the Cookie Cat song, hints of the gems fighting an Enemy in Space long before Earth was even colonized.
In my blog “Don’t Give Up!” I raised a ton of questions we still don’t know about the show. And the possibly that there must be a huge secret hidden in Beach City, hinted at in all the Townie episodes that might have much more in them than filler. And the chance that Onion Gang and Rocknaldo, two episodes frequently dismissed by the fandom, might be the keys to understanding this secret.
Steven Universe loves to challenge people’s assumptions, and make them see the world in different ways.
We thought Steven’s guardians were the only uncorrupted gems left on Earth. But Amethyst wasn’t protected by Rose’s shield, yet escaped corruption. If Amethyst could survive The Song, perhaps other gems did too?
We thought the only way a gem could have a child was to pass on their gem, like Rose did with Steven. Yet the very first enemies the Crystal Gems fight in Gem Glow are Centipedal’s gemless children, made from the very same light that animates the Gems.
The world of Steven is vast and weird. And we’ve only just started to explore the galaxy. It’s naive of us to think we’ve seen more than the tip of the iceberg.
There’s a reason why Einstein and Winston, revered, WEIRD scientists, can’t say enough good things about Imagination. It’s our ability to visualize how things might be different that leads our greatest breakthroughs.
It’s always dangerous to jump to conclusions, especially in a clever show like SU that deliberately writes against expectations. And those you thought were you enemies could turn out to be your greatest friends, or even family.
Many people are saying that Pink Diamond was a terrible person. And perhaps she did make her share of impulsive mistakes. But you also have to put yourself in her shoes, and think why she did what she did.
We learn a lot from the ghostly memory in “Can’t Go Back”. Pink, who wanted a colony so badly, is being chastised by Blue because now she’s changed her mind and wants to leave it.
The other Diamonds look down on Pink as if she’s a child, with Blue not even allowing Pink to speak. Blue tells Pink the colony will be completed, and all Pink has to do is smile and wave and do nothing.
But Blue is misreading something important. Blue thinks Pink hasn’t destroyed the human cities because Pink is weak and incompetent, that Pink isn’t capable of such planning.
But the Zoo shows us Pink values human life. Blue never considers that Pink hasn’t destroy the human cities because Pink doesn’t WANT TO. That Pink is starting to listen to the Crystal Gems. And rather than do nothing and allow the Earth to be destroyed, Pink DID something, and saved the Earth.
As for being incompetent, Pink may have made a breakthrough in creating gems without destroying a world! Bismuth says Rose Quartz was “another quartz soldier made right here in the dirt.” and we see Pink Diamond crush some dirt into very convincing pink gem shards. Perhaps this was the reason the Rose Kindergarten was never found? Making Rose gems only used up a little bit of soil instead of despoiling the world?
It does seem like Pink had selfish motivations for manipulating Pearl and the other gems to escape her responsibilities as a Diamond. Yet, if Pink’s motives were purely selfish, why would she end her own existence by giving her gem to Steven? This was not a spur of the moment decision, but something she had to think about for thousands of years. Rose/Pink was with many human men, but deliberate choose Greg to be Steven’s father, Steven wasn’t an accident.
And if PInk had ideas of how The Great Diamond Authority could do things better, but the other Diamonds wouldn’t listen to her, then she would have to prove her ideas worked in the field, in a manner the other Diamonds could NOT ignore.
It’s tempting to assume that Rose Quartz never actually existed after watching A Single Pale Rose. That Rose was always an alter ego of Pink. But this is one of those dangerous assumptions again, and there are still unanswered questions that hint the story could still be more complex than we know.
Titan Pink from Gemcation still looms in my mind. Even accepting that a gem can rotate their gemstone during a transformation, we still haven’t seen any gem capable of transforming their material core. Titan Pink has a traditional four-sided diamond that can’t be the result of gem rotation, and her form is like a terrifying nightmare, nothing at all like the circle-shoed elf we see in Jungle Moon and Pale Rose. Garnet’s flashback in Your Mother and Mine also describes Pink as a giant, and while that was famously inaccurate, the Gemcation scene was witnessed by Pearl, Bismuth, and two other Crystal Gems, making it much harder to dismiss.
Then there’s Steven’s ability to possess other creature, a power we now know comes from Pink Diamond. Could Pink have been warped into a Titan by the other diamonds trying to “Fix” her gem, then tried to restore herself to her original form by possessing Rose and then shattering her Frankenstein gem, the hopes she or Steven could fix it?
Roundtable Stardust commentator RedSoup had a point, when she mentioned Pink Diamond was larger than Rose Quartz, and staying permanently size-shifted down to a smaller form for thousands of years should be impossible.
Then there’s an icon similar to Rose’s shield behind the door to Pink Diamond’s ship, opposite another version of The One Gem at the top of the door. Yet this symbol is less ornate, and has a dark pink triangle at the center, instead of Rose’s blazing white sigil, almost as if one icon was the opposite of the other.
So for the moment, I’m holding out hope that we haven’t seen all of Pink Diamond’s story. And that Rose Quartz actually was a real person that Pink went on to possess.
… but I may just be delaying the inevitable.
I must accept that the beautiful headcanon I created in the Followup video, an Avengers-level epic event where Steven, Lars, Pink and the Crystal Gems win the respect of the Diamonds by helping defend Homeworld from The Ultimate Evil In The Universe, to the blazing chords of sweet metalized Undertale music!... is most likely just a colorful, ethereal flight of fancy. Doomed to blow away in the wind one day as the show takes a completely different direction.
The Crewniverse released The Anatomy of a Steven Universe fan recently. And believe me when I say I feel the Heartbreak and Existential Crisis as much as anyone.
But if nothing else, I hope sharing my imagination with you all shows that there are still directions the show can take. That even after seemingly hitting a wall with Steven being Pink Diamond, the story isn’t over. And if I can come up with Annoying Jerry from Undertale being the Ultimate Evil In The Universe, then just imagine what Rebecca and the Crewniverse can come up with.
Steven Universe isn’t over. It’s only just beginning to shine.
Thank you all for listening to my blog.
And speak of colorful Alternate Universes, you might want to check out The Rebel Gems project on Youtube. I talked to these folks on Google Hangouts, and they seem like nice people, hardcore Steven Universe fans who are making A Thing!
Personally when people tell me that Rose being Pink Diamond is forced I just give them a hard look and tell them to rewatch the entire series and pay attention this time around. I definitely felt that the RQ=PD theory always had merit from day 1 and really this episode just confirms it for me. The whole 'not being able to keep up the form change' is a completely redundant argument. Pink Diamond despite probably being the weakest diamond out of the four is still in another tier of power so when people seriously compare her to other shape shifting gems like Amethyst I want to face palm a hole straight through my face. Titan Pink could be a battle form she adopts in order to conform to her sister's demands if it is real not to mention such a form is more suited to battle and intimidating gems in general or it could just be an exaggerated depiction commonplace for many real life historical figures.
