“With the exception of Orville Elephant, you can purchase them from the Stan’s Budget Tech section of the catalog as attractions for your pizzeria.” |
The Mediocre Melodies are a group of animatronic entertainers that can be placed within Freddy Fazbear's Pizza Place.
They first appeared in Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria Simulator as purchasable items from the Stan's Budget Tech Catalog (except for Orville Elephant, who can be afforded from Rare Finds Auction, and Mystic Hippo, who debuted in another game) for customizing the pizzeria. They reappeared in Ultimate Custom Night, Five Nights at Freddy's: Help Wanted 2, and some of them make cameo appearances in Five Nights at Freddy's: Security Breach.
Physical Appearance
They are animatronics made of a plastic material, who appear to be of a height similar to the average adult. Their appearance, like most of the animatronics in the series, is based on some animal, but whose bodies have an anthropomorphic shape. A metallic endoskeleton is known to be found underneath these suits, allowing them to move all their joints on stage. This endoskeleton is not seen much during the game, but it can be seen that it has a row of teeth and several characteristics that vary by character; for example, the animatronics who wear hats have their own mechanism that allows them to be lifted in the air; in addition, they seem to have a smaller endoskeleton than the others in the series. These always have a 12V battery nearby, which means they always depend on a limited external power source to function.
Functionality

The Mediocre Melodies on the roster for Ultimate Custom Night.
Due to their appearances being similar to the Classic Animatronics, they presumably have similar or equal functionality.

Happy Frog

“Here’s an idea that hasn't already been done at Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza or any of its associated establishments—an animatronic frog! Happy Frog has a humanoid body and a frog-like head. The fact she carries a microphone marks her out as the leader of the Mediocre Melodies.” |

Anyway, he was in the pizzeria, on the stage where he usually is, and I asked him what that box behind him was. And he said, "What box?" And I said, "That box, there." And he said, "Gosh, I forgot it was there. There’s an interesting story behind that box..."” |

Nedd Bear

- Main article: Nedd Bear
“Nedd Bear looks a little familiar. Is it possible he's an imitation of Freddy Fazbear—altered just enough to avoid any copyright issues? But he is wearing a regular tie instead of a bow tie .... so obviously completely different. Unlike most of the Mediocre Melodies, Nedd Bear has an Entertainment score of more than 4. He has 5, but he also comes with a Liability score of 1.” |

Fate
Near the end of Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria Simulator, Upon completion of the game's final night, the player's employer, who is revealed to be Henry Emily, the original founder of Fazbear Entertainment and former business partner of William Afton, reveals that the undergrounds chambers and the vent system have been disconnected from the main building, preventing the animatronics from reaching the pizzeria above, and thus trapping them. Henry then sets the building on fire, using remote burners built in the floor, with himself, the player, and the animatronics inside, destroying all of them and freeing all of William's victims in the process.
It's presumed that both the Rockstar Animatronics and the Mediocre Melodies were destroyed in the fire. However, in Tales from the Pizzaplex, it is mentioned that there were old endoskeletons scattered around the pizzeria. They were removed in order to allow construction of Freddy Fazbear's Mega Pizzaplex, which was built on the site of the pizzeria. This suggests that the Rockstar Animatronics and the Mediocre Melodies may have been deactivated before the fire and that their suits were burned in the fire, but not their endoskeletons. In any case, the fate of their endoskeletons following their removal is currently unknown.
