“I always do my best work! In fact, I would be doing some of it right now if you weren't wasting my time in this pointless meeting.” |
Matt is the main protagonist of In the Flesh, the second story in Fazbear Frights 5: Bunny Call. He is a narcissistic man who berates and judges everyone in his life. After numerous failed relationships, Matt pours is rage into development of the next Five Nights at Freddy's VR game, unknowingly giving life to his creation.
Physical Appearance[]
Matt is considered good-looking with a handsome face and a size 34 waistline. He’s also well dressed. Over time, Matt’s belly gets incredibly bloated, his skin turns yellowish, a hard knot forms on his forehead, his face and hair get drenched in sweat, and his hair gets thinner.
Personality[]
Matt is very narcissistic, believing himself to be a misunderstood genius and constantly seeking admiration through his wealth. He does everything he can to win things, but gets bored maintaining them. This, combined with his lack of empathy towards others, leads to Matt being alone and frustrated constantly. His loneliness and frustration makes him more obsessive over his work, pouring all his emotions into it. Matt also refuses to accept any responsibility, instead blaming everyone else for his misfortune. His distorted view of being wronged and abused by women gives him destructive urges, with most of his thoughts being of destruction. It also makes Matt rather misogynistic, believing women are crazy and judging them purely off looks. He can be absentminded at times, but has an amazing memory when it comes to programming.
History[]
Matt is a game developer who got the role of creating the AI in a VR game called Springtrap's Revenge. When he play-tested the game, Springtrap always killed him. His co-worker, Jamie, enters and asks if he needed help. Matt rudely tells her to leave. He play-tested the game again only to get killed by Springtrap again. He then angrily reprogrammed the game to punish Springtrap.
The next day, he gets back to work and went to check on Springtrap. Matt noticed that there was no sign of Springtrap. After checking the game's data log, it seemed that Springtrap spawned new versions of himself and the newer versions killed the old ones. As a result, his programming was corrupted. Matt went into the game and as he comes into physical contact with Springtrap, he felt a sharp sting. Matt later goes on a date with a girl named Eva. His roommate Jason and his girlfriend, Meghan, also went with them. The date ends with him leaving disappointed as he couldn't get a shot with Meghan.
In the next few days, Matt starts feeling a pain in his stomach. He tries to ignore it by drinking coffee and taking pills, but the pain increases. Then, he starts to feel a ravenous hunger and starts eating a lot. He now has a bloated stomach and constantly feels the urge to vomit. He no longer fits in his old clothes, and must wear baggier clothes. One of those days, Matt went on another date with a girl named Madison. It ended with Madison leaving due to her sick cat.
At a meeting, the early copies of the game received mixed reviews and all of them mentioned that Springtrap's AI is sloppy. Matt angrily blames the "pointless" meeting. As he arrives home, he sees Jason packing up his things. Jason tells him to stop being a jerk.
On the next day, on his date with a girl named Emma, Matt felt some sort of force that was pushing his belly from the inside. Matt calls off the date and realizes that his bloated belly was now exposed to the public to see. He flees out of that area and goes home. As he arrives home, he grabs a kitchen knife and cuts open his chest. A tiny realistic Springtrap emerges from his belly. Springtrap pulls himself out of the incision and stands over Matt's bleeding body. Springtrap then strokes Matt's cheek and says, "Daddy." Matt dies from blood loss.
