Mask Bot is a S.T.A.F.F. Bot at Freddy Fazbear's Mega Pizzaplex. He makes his first appearance in the RUIN DLC for Five Nights at Freddy's: Security Breach, and later in Five Nights at Freddy's: Help Wanted 2.
Physical Appearance[]
Mask Bot appears to be the same model of S.T.A.F.F: as Map Bot. He has the same yellow chestpiece, round glasses, map-holding pouch, and even the same lowercase "i" printed in the middle of its chest. The only difference is that he no longer wears a white hat.
Just like the other bots in the ruined Pizzaplex, Mask Bot looks dirty and poorly-maintained. He has what looks like two bunny ears on top of his head, similar to Vanny's, but they are actually just metal from the back of his head, peeled out open to stand upright.
Functionality[]
Mask Bot is used to hand out the Security Mask following the ending of Help Wanted 2. has a habit of jumpscaring the player, but this will not alert nearby animatronics. Instead, it will follow that up with a request for the player to take a mask, no longer jumpscaring them on sight. When the mask is taken, the Mask Bot will deactivate.
Role[]
Only one Mask Bot exists when entering the ruins of the Pizzaplex. He will jumpscare Cassie similarly to a map bot before handing out a bunny mask to her although this will not alert any animatronics. The Mask Bot will then short circuit and deactivate, not being seen again after this encounter.
Trivia[]
- Before RUIN's release, Ray McCaffrey confirmed on Twitter that Map Bot would not appear in the DLC. This was subverted by Mask Bot's very similar appearance and function.
- It is often assumed that Mask Bot was created and controlled by Glitchtrap, in order to trick Cassie into using the Security Mask to shut down M.X.E.S. and release The Mimic.
- It is also often theorized that Mask Bot is actually haunted by Cassie's father, who is shown dying at Glitchtrap's hands during the Help Wanted 2's ending.
