Martin Copper is the main antagonist of Submechanophobia, the first story from Tales from the Pizzaplex 4: Submechanophobia.
Physical Appearance[]
Martin is an average middle-aged man with an average height and build. He has thinning salt-and-pepper hair and large, straight, bright ivory teeth that he's spent a lot of money on in dental procedures, which includes a copper tooth on one side of his mouth. When spying on Caden in the Mechaquarium, Martin is disguised as Frank the Diver and wears the vintage diving suit.
Personality[]
Martin is a very money driven person, and is shown to be rather opportunistic when he reopens Freddy's Fantasy Water Park to take advantage of the popularity of Freddy Fazbears Mega Pizzaplex that recently opened nearby. He's the authority of the water park, and wants to know everything that goes on in it, though this is likely a part of his efforts to keep his past actions from being discovered. He's frequently brushing off concerns as teenagers pulling pranks or as Caden getting creeped out by the animatronics, and is good at pretending to care about Caden's wellbeing whilst he's endangering it. He's very intense, using exaggerated hand gestures as he speaks and repeats himself often enough for Caden to be able to repeat him word for word. He's quick to start threatening to fire Caden over various incidents, though this could also be an act in order to scare him into stopping his investigations. Martin is said and shown to have a temper when it comes to any problems involving the park, its employees and the Mechaquarium animatronics, and doesn't ensure that his employees know how to properly do their jobs, or care for the specialized equipment they use regularly. His only true goal appears to be the success of the park so he can get out of debt, and he will go to extreme lengths to achieve that.
History[]
Before the water park's closure, Martin had been in serious debt and was relying on the park to get him out of it. When he discovered Jason Butterfield's body in the Mechaquarium, he feared it would ruin the park's income and instead of reporting the incident, he buried the body amongst the ocean decor. He kept the park open for a while after that, supposedly closing for the most part, due to teenagers frequently pulling pranks and breaking into the park when it was closed on a night. It's possible that these weren't pranks, and were instead, the effects of Jason Butterfield haunting the animatronics, or potentially Martin himself trying to discourage employees from discovering what he'd done, but this isn't stated in the story.
When Martin reopens the park years later, it's in an attempt to get himself out of debt by taking advantage of the success of the Pizzaplex that opened a few towns over. However, he still has to ensure that no one discovers the body in the Mechaquarium, and thus, after he hears of a child's shoe being found in Zeus the Sea Dragon's mouth, Martin begins to spy on Caden using the Frank the Diver suit. Caden is then suddenly involved in several "accidents" that put his life in danger, and leave his job hanging by a thread. Once Caden finds a skull in the Mechaquarium, Martin attempts to silence him by drowning him in the Mechaquarium, but Zeus stops this from happening.
