Marco the Serpent is an animatronic sea serpent at Freddy's Fantasy Water Park. It's the purple sibling of Polo the Serpent, and resides in the water park's main attraction, Freddy's Sea Life Mechaquarium. Marco plays a minor role in the Tales from the Pizzaplex story, Submechanophobia, the first story in the book of the same name.
Physical Appearance[]
Marco is a faded purple, long tailed sea serpent animatronic. Marco is Polo's twin, and both are described as smaller then Zeus the Sea Dragon, and as having snakelike bodies.
As all of the underwater animatronics are described, Marco is old and rundown, with chipped paint, spots of rust and a few broken pieces you wouldn't notice at a glance.
Marco is mentioned to have a flicker of yellow light in its eyes for a moment, but this is brushed off as not possible, as there is no power to it at the time.
Personality[]
Marco and Polo are known to hide in obscure locations around the Mechaquarium. As with the others in the Mechaquarium, Marco swims at a generally slow pace under normal circumstances.
History[]
Marco is one of the many underwater animatronics in Freddy's Sealife Mechaquarium. It was given its name by water park employee Roy, because of its tendency to hide in the ocean decor of the Mechaquarium. As Marco and Polo are both well known for hiding, it's possible they were named after the swimming pool game 'Marco Polo', where one player who can't see, must search for and catch the other players by shouting 'Marco', so that the other players must shout 'Polo'.
Just as the other animatronics at Freddy's Fantasy Water Park, Marco was left mostly uncared for during the park's several year closure and was not renovated upon the park reopening. Marco is also the first animatronic in Submechanophobia to be noticed staring at Caden the protagonist.
Marco, along with the rest of the underwater animatronics appear in Caden's nightmare, attacking children that jump into the Mechaquarium, and swimming much faster than normal. Neither Marco nor Polo have a described method of attacking the children unlike the three sharks, Zeus the Sea Dragon, Delilah the Mermaid and Frank the Diver.
In the climax of Submechanophobia, Marco swims around Martin to prevent him from getting away should he free himself from Zeus the Sea Dragon's tail.
