M.X.E.S. (full name unknown) is an advanced security protocol designed by an unknown individual that serves to keep The Mimic from escaping its imprisonment below the Pizzaplex by interfacing with the Virtual Augmented Neural Network Integration unit, or V.A.N.N.I.. Given the appearance of the Security Mask and the Entity's physical appearance, it's implied that Vanny created the system or trapped the Mimic.

Throughout the duration of her expedition through the Pizzaplex, Cassie confronted manifold obstructions from The Entity, a digital avatar of M.X.E.S., and ultimately accomplished the deactivation of the system in her effort to rescue "Gregory". Doing so, however, she inadvertently released The Mimic from its imprisonment.

Appearance

The M.X.E.S. mainframe comprises a gray server box on it that is connected to a terminal nearby, which permits it to communicate with the Pizzaplex network. The security mask reveals numerous purple wires and technological components that glow and hum, which facilitate its functionality.

Functionality

M.X.E.S. is what allows The Entity to appear on Cassie's journey to save "Gregory", waylaying her plans with different obstacles to surmount. It can project simulated virtual entities being responsible for the entity presumably as a way to interact and affect the V.A.N.N.I network and appears to be able to request worker bots to build items it needs for lock down protocols like the V.A.N.N.I. network inhibitors, and appears to be able to do system management tasks like set up security nodes. It is also what keeps the Mimic sealed into the remains of Freddy Fazbear's Pizza Place and is toggled off by Cassie. The Mimic may be able to read the messages M.X.E.S sends out to the V.A.N.N.I. network as it knows about the security Node status due to Cassie being told about the nodes by The Mimic as Gregory and the general area status
