“We'll hang out a little and see how things go. If it works out, maybe you can go out for cheerleader next year. Consider this a trial period.” |
Lydia is a major recurring character in To Be Beautiful, the second story of Fazbear Frights 1: Into the Pit. She is the leader of "the Beautifuls," a nickname given to a group of four cheerleaders in Sarah's high school.
Physical Appearance[]
Lydia is pretty with long and lustrous blonde hair, blue eyes, a rosy complexion, and a tiny button nose. She’s slender but curvy, and Sarah says she's pretty enough to be a model. Lydia makes sure the Beautifuls wear matching outfits. At the start of the story, she wears a short black dress with a white collar and cuffs.
Personality[]
Like the rest of the Beautifuls, Lydia is incredibly vain. She tends to take advantage of her looks and status to get things she normally wouldn't, such as an older date in order to attend prom. Lydia also judges people based on their looks and wealth, making rude remarks about and mocking an angry saleslady since she works in a department store and barely makes minimum wage.
History[]
Lydia is the leader of a group of popular cheerleaders at Sarah's high school, with the other members being Jillian, Tabitha, and Emma. Sarah calls the Beautifuls and wishes to join them, but has low self esteem. One day, Sarah sees them going down the hall in black and white outfits. During lunch, the Beautifuls sit at their own table while Sarah, Abby, and other nerds sit at what they call the "loser table." A few days later, Lydia and the Beautifuls wear cute skinny jeans with fitted jewel-colored tops and matching slip-on canvas shoes. Sarah tries sitting with them during lunch, however they ignore her and continue their conversations without her. Sarah later sees them outside the Brown Cow with their boyfriends.
After Sarah meets Eleanor and has her entire body changed by her to be more "beautiful," Lydia notices Sarah and invites her to sit with her and the other Beautifuls, although believing her to be a new girl. Lydia introduces herself and the other girls, and then asks where her dress is from. Sarah tells them Saks Fifth Avenue, which is true, but the dress wasn't bought in New York. Lydia then asks how often she visits New York, and Sarah lies and says once or twice a year. Lydia lets the other Beautifuls asks Sarah questions, such as if she has any crushes. When Sarah answers Mason Blair, Lydia and the other Beautifuls say he's hot. Lydia then tells Sarah not to follow them like a puppy, but she can sit with them at lunch. Lydia then explains that they go to the mall on Sunday afternoons to try on clothes and makeup, and maybe get a froyo. Lydia says it's lame but the town is boring so it gives them something to do. Lydia tells Sarah she's going though a trial period, and if things work out she can go out for cheerleader next year.
Later that day, Lydia tells Mason about her conversation with Sarah, which leads to him asking her out. Sarah meets with Lydia and the Beautifuls at Diller's a few days later, where they're trying on lipstick. Lydia is trying on a crimson red lipstick, and encourages Sarah to buy a pair herself. The rest of the Beautifuls buy lipstick, eye shadows, blush, and brow pencils with wads of cash or their parents' credit cards, then look at formal gowns for prom. When Sarah comments that prom is just for juniors and seniors, Lydia explains that they just need to find a junior or senior to take them and comments on Mason not being older. The girls try on formal dresses for half an hour until a saleslady steps in. The girls leave the dresses behind and flee the formal wear department, with Lydia saying the saleslady doesn't have the right to judge her due to her status and wealth. While eating frozen yogurts at the food court, Lydia mocks the saleslady over and over again.
A few days later, Lydia texts the group telling them that they'll be wearing their skinny jeans the following day. In the cafeteria, Lydia comments on Abby's clothes, saying she dresses like a preschooler. Sarah explains Abby is nice and has been her friend since kindergarten, but Lydia laughs and says Sarah's bought new clothes since then and Abby hasn't. When Sarah slips, Lydia doubles over laughing and calls Sarah a klutz. The Beautifuls laugh at Sarah, but then being to scream as she turns into junk. They back away from Sarah and whisper among themselves as Sarah leaves the school.
