“Everybody’s hiding something, even if it’s just their holey old underwear under their clothes.”
She has long braids of hair and is thin.
Kasey is in a group of thieves with Jack and AJ. She was kicked out of her mother's house at 17 and later dropped out of high school. She had to work many jobs to support herself, until she resorted to stealing. Jack and AJ noticed her skill and invited her to join their thieves gang.
One day, she spots a woman leaving Circus Baby’s Pizza World with her young son and daughter. She then runs up and grabs the lady's purse and runs off with it. As they divvy up the money from the purse, Kasey finds a goody bag from the woman's daughter. In the goody bag, there were cardboard glasses that read "Put on the glasses, and Ballora will dance for you." Kasey tries on the glasses and sees Ballora dancing at a distance. She offers the glasses to Jack and AJ but they cannot see her. The next day, Ballora is closer to her, and the leaves spin around her as if she was physically present. She becomes worried that Ballora is following her.
Kasey decides she wants a fresh start in life. She took her share of the money from the warehouse and bought a bus ticket to Memphis, Tennessee. Kasey has a conversation with an old lady at a bus stop and she says that if you try to run from your problems, those problems might end up following you. After the bus trip, Kasey finds a hotel and gets a job at the Royal Café Diner. Her old habits followed her as Kasey stole some tips at the diner. The manager gets suspicious and though he doesn't fire her, Kasey leaves town again leaving her job at the diner. She later has a nightmare where Ballora accuses her of being a liar and a thief.
Kasey takes a bus to Nashville where she really wants to have a fresh start. She finds a promising job but doesn't have a nice outfit for the interview. She goes to a store but only has enough money for a dress, but not for shoes. As her very last theft, she attempts to hide the dress and the shoes in her backpack. This works until she steps out of the door where an alarm goes off, alerting the staff. She then sees leaves swirling around where Ballora would be right outside the exit, trapping her inside. Kasey, full of tears, admits and explains why she tried to steal the dress, but an old woman buys the dress for her because she believes her story is genuine and true.
Kasey goes back to her hotel room but still sees Ballora. Kasey knows what she must do. She finds the address of Sarah Avery, the woman that she stole from. Kasey then goes to the house and admits that she was the thief and gives her old stuff back and all the money that she has. Sarah forgives her, and Kasey returns the glasses to Sarah’s daughter, Isabelle.
