Controversy

In late-2021, following the release of One Night at Flumpty's 3, an anonymous X/Twitter user would share a TwitLonger with serious accusations toward Jonathan. Within that TwitLonger, it mentioned that Jonathan, in 2015-2016, was in a relationship with a girl around the ages of 13-14, while Jonathan was in his 20s, along with supplying screenshots to accompany their claim, one of which showed Jonathan having plans to meet up with the minor when she turned 18.[1] Jonathan would reply to the post shortly after its posting, confirming its claims and screenshots and admitting he was in the wrong.[2] Jonathan would receive significant backlash, in which he would make another, longer response via a TwitLonger.[3] He would then leave the internet to disconnect and to get therapy. The then-19-year-old victim, in a now-deleted X/Twitter thread, would also respond to the situation.[4]

After 3 years of silence, Jonathan would post a short update video titled "Doing Better" in November 2024, mentioning that, before he left the internet, he was "mentally unwell in a number of ways" and "entitled and developmentally stagnant."[5] Then, not too long after, he would post another longer update video on his channel, "Jonochrome Plays," where he went into detail about his life, what happened within the 3 years, and what could happen in the future.[6]
