“Please help me do good and continue with my purpose. Please help me make a difference. Please help me help others who are sick. Give me the strength to right my wrongs. Give me the courage to do what's right.” |
Jessica is the main protagonist of Frailty, the first story of Tales from the Pizzaplex 1: Lally's Game.
Physical Appearance[]
Jessica is short, slim, and frail. She has pale skin, its rosy flush having been lost. Jessica has thick and shiny black hair that’s long enough to cover her slim and pretty face. She has brown eyes that have become darker over time, and she uses makeup to hide the dark circles under them. Jessica has delicate and full lips, and her eyelashes are naturally dark and thick. She has one small beauty mark dotted high on her left cheek, and she has high cheekbones. Jessica wears a black sweatshirt and black pants, as well as black sneakers.
When she goes to prom, she wears a slim, ankle-length lilac dress with pale flours unto the design. She wore a pair of purple heels, which matched with her dress. She puts on some extra layers of makeup to cover her shallow skin and dark circles under her eyes. She also puts on some tinted eyeshadow and let her long hair run down.
Personality[]
Jessica is described as being quite a loner, often staying quiet and not interacting with people, to the point where students call her a "zombie" and a weirdo. She is also very asocial, as she mostly prefers to be alone and invisible whenever someone talks to her. Despite this, Jessica is shown to have experienced some sort of trauma relating to her past, as she is shown mentioning how everything changed once she made "the wrong choice".
However after spending more time with Robert, she starts to be more open and happy, even accepting his prom invitation despite not being in one before.
In her old life, Jessica was presumably an ongoing and happy kid, having a great family and best friends who always called her "Jess".[1]
History[]
While not much of her past is known, Jessica was at some point a normal girl. She used to think that certain things were important, such as types of clothes, the coolest friends, and the cutest boys.[2] She was also very pretty, as others would smile whenever she would and would listen to whatever she has to say. She also believed in rabbit's foot having good luck, even getting a keychain of one to dangle on her finger.[3] However at some point in her life, she made a mistake, causing her to lose everything and forcing her to live within a cemetery. At some point, she had found a heart shaped pendant and discovered that it had healing properties. She decides to use this supernatural force to help the less fortunate, one of them being a young boy who got into a car accident.
Jessica is able to get a job as a janitor at her local hospital, secretly using the pendant to heal sick children when no one is around. She keeps to herself most of the time to not arouse suspicion. She uses a knife to slice off bits of the pendant, with the pieces landing on the person and healing them. However, this weakens her own body in the process. During the day, she goes to West Wilson High School, being called various names. Most of the students refuse to talk to her due to her strange and quiet appearance. As part of a group project for her Science and Engineering class, she works with a new boy named Robert.
Trivia[]
- It is implied that she had an encounter with Eleanor at some point in the story, which would explain how she got her heart pendant and about her "grave mistake".
