The beta's main menu

The beta of Five Nights at Freddy's: Into the Pit is a dev build that was accidentally released in Japan regions on August 7, 2024, for the Nintendo Switch and removed later that day. This build had various differences and cut content that can't be found in the final release of the game.

Differences

The dev build of Into the Pit was version Dev.5.0.4 with various differences and additions that the final release lacked or removed.

Gameplay

• Some quick time events are missing the timer bars.
• On night 3, when playing Bonnie's guitar, the player can press any button on the Switch's D-pad when strumming.
• Trying to take a screenshot after dying or beating an arcade will crash the game.
• The font used in the arcade's ending screen is Joystix Proportional.
• Solve the Puzzle arcade game is missing a "Best Time" tracker.
• The game doesn't lock the player from moving when prompted to use the map or flashlight for the first time.
• When hiding from the Yellow Rabbit in a vent, the player must control their heart rate by moving a white heart up or down on a green line. Failing to do so cracks the heart; if the player fails five times, Yellow Rabbit jumpscares the player.
• When hiding in a chest, the player must hold down the prompted button to swat away the spiders.

Menu

• Secret achievements don't appear in the achievements list unless they are obtained.

Easter Eggs

• There was a 3% chance for a shadow of Eleanor to spawn behind the ball pit.
• When calling the number 777-4648, a faster, higher-pitched version of "Crumbing Dreams" seems to play instead of William Afton's spring locking.

Bugs

• After exiting the cameras on night 5, the player will sink through the floor, soft-locking the game. This bug ultimately makes the game unbeatable.

Scrapped and Unused Content

• There was a random chance for the Stitchwraith to appear on the right side of the screen behind the school.
  • If the user mods its functionality back in, moving to the Stitchwraith will add a prompt to interact with him; upon doing so, it will take the player to a scrapped minigame, titled "Guard Duty."
• There were scrapped maps for a backyard, garage, and bathroom. Adding them back into the game simply adds placeholder maps.
• A minigame took place in Oswald's basement. Upon loading into the minigame, instructions will pop up saying, "Navigate the darkness using the movement keys. Press A to inspect an object of interest. Careful, as some objects are dangerous..."
  • The objects are: Yellow Rabbit heads, Puppet jack-in-the-box, and screw driver.
• Unused Jeff's Pizza and Freddy Fazbear's Pizza layout.
  • Freddy Fazbear's Pizza version of the entrance room has a new character behind the counter, named "Employee."
  • The entrance on both versions has an employees-only door on the top left that led to the kitchen.
  • A new hallway with drawings, a poster of the Mediocre Melodies, and a few doors, titled "Hallway 1."
  • The storage room is longer and is titled "Hallway 2."
    • Hallway 2 would've been the original location for opening a vent with the sticky hand.
  • A room titled "Hallway 3" would be unlocked on night 2.
    • In the Freddy Fazbear's Pizza version of the hallway, interacting with the paper pals will reward the player with a piece of a drawing.
    • On night 3, a red vest is added to the floor near a door; Oswald reacts to the vest, saying it is his dad's. Upon walking up to it, a shadow of Freddy will move past the door's window.
  • Another hallway, titled "Hallway 4," can be entered from Hallway 3. Though Hallway 4 is incomplete and doesn't have anything in it, other than a few interactable prompts.
    • Every few seconds, Hallway 4 will play a sound of, when reversed, laughing and a scream.
• The introduction of the noise meter shows a full pop-up graphic, with icons of a reentrant horn, footsteps, and Bonnie.
  • The pop-up said: "Certain actions such as running and tripping will generate Noise. Some objects may also generate Noise when interacted or collided with."
  • The office is empty.
  • The secret room loses its vent and adds fog.
• On night 2, there is a stinky trail of green mist that hovers in Hallway 2 and Entrance. Following the trail would lead the player to a vent in Hallway 1; upon opening it, a "rotten pizza" item could be found.
• An early version of the Pizzaroller arcade can be added back and played.
