I’m a right-brained free spirit. Deal with it.
Harper, Fazbear Frights 3: 1:35 A.M.

Harper is a major character in 1:35 A.M., the first story in the book of the same name. She's Delilah's upbeat and spiritual best friend who tries her best to support Delilah following her divorce.

Physical Appearance[]

Harper is thin with huge blue eyes and blonde hair she likes to tie up in different styles. When Delilah first talks to Harper about Ella, she has an “exotic Medusa look” with her hair in a dozen or so braids coiled around her head, heavy colorful makeup, and a skintight green dress. Later, her hair is in a long, high ponytail and she wears a fifties-style, full-skirted floral dress with a multitude of bracelets around her thin wrists.

Personality[]

Harper is vivacious and likes to act mischievous, calling herself a free-spirit. She is also very eccentric and spiritual, believing in signs and other ideas that Delilah considers unrealistic. Harper isn’t as easily bothered as her best friend, but also doesn’t process things in an organized way either. Despite their opposing views, Harper and Delilah are very supportive of each other, and Harper is always willing to help Delilah out whenever she needs it.

History[]

Harper and Delilah landed in foster care together six years prior to the events of the story. Despite being opposites in both looks and personality, the two teamed up to help each other get through their scheduled life with Gerald, the ex-military husband of the couple that took them in, and were determined to make the foster home their last. They managed to make their friendship work and remained friends after.

Harper hatched a mischievous plan for getting a famous playwright to cast her in his plays, and with Delilah's advice to stay safe she made it work. She also told Delilah not to sign a prenup when she married Richard, which Delilah didn't follow. When the two got divorced, Delilah stayed with Harper. Harper lives in a house with ten other struggling actors, and all Harper had to offer was half of a double bed-size mattress on the floor of what was once massive walk-in closet. This added with the fact that Harper snores and talks in her sleep results in Delilah only staying for three days.

Sometime before the story, Harper goes through a period where she kept waking up at 3:33 a.m. and saw 333 everywhere for a couple of months. She researched the number and found out it was a spiritual sign. One day, Harper crocheted a green-and-yellow Afghan for Delilah, and when she was crushed not seeing it our Delilah puts it over the back of her well-worn beige leather loveseat.

When Delilah meets with Harper at her favorite espresso place and tells Harper she threw out Ella, Harper gets upset, wondering if the doll was a collectable and valuable. Delilah asks about Harper's new play, and she says she loves her character despite the lines being crap. She then suggests that Delilah find the doll, as it looking just like the baby Delilah thought she was going have could be a sign, but Delilah reminds her that she doesn't believe in signs. They spend the rest of their visit talking about the play, Harper's latest boyfriend, and Gerald, with Harper showing off her perfect impression of him.

After being woken up for the fourth night in a row, Delilah wakes up at 10:10 the next morning and calls Harper, waking her up to ask her to come over. When she does, she drops her voluminous sack-style leather purse on the floor and flops into the loveseat, asking what the problem is without Delilah even telling her there was one. Delilah asks if she rescued Ella from the dumpster the day before, as she said she could be valuable, but Harper denies doing it, telling Delilah that she would have told her if she was going to recover the doll. The two then go to lunch after.

After 15 nights of the 1:35 a.m. awakenings, Delilah calls Harper two minutes before she has to go onstage. Delilah describes the strange sensations she's been feeling for the past two nights and Harper tells her she's having a panic attack. Delilah is hesitant at first but Harper is willing to believe her, so she tells Harper an abbreviated version of her 1:35 a.m. torture. Harper doesn’t quite understand so the two plan to meet up the next day to talk about it.

When Delilah tells her about her nightmares with Ella the next day, Harper asks if she thinks the doll is haunted, and Delilah explains that she thinks the doll has defective programming. Both Harper and Delilah agree that the things she's describing go beyond just technology, and Harper asks if she looked into the meaning of the number itself as it could be her subconscious trying to tell her something, like the 333 thing. She takes her phone out and looks up the numbers, but when she finds something Delilah refuses to listen.

After being fired from her job, Delilah calls Harper to ask to stay with her for a few nights. She agrees, although she has to work until 12:30 a.m. When Harper returns, she takes Delilah away from a roommate named Rudolph and the two ate snacks on the mattress. She tells Delilah stories about the evening's performance, and when Delilah looks at her watch at 12:55 a.m. Harper takes it away. When 1:35 a.m. rolls around Delilah hears Gerald’s voice and asks Harper if she imitated him. She then accuses Harper of programming Ella, but Harper denies it and goes to bed. She wakes Delilah up at 10 a.m. the next day, she seems to have forgotten about the accusation or forgiven Delilah. Still, Delilah decides to leave while Harper's at work.
