Hank the Hammer is an animatronic shark at Freddy's Fantasy Water Park. It resides alongside all other underwater animatronics in the water park's main attraction, Freddy's Sea Life Mechaquarium. Hank plays a very minor role in the Tales from the Pizzaplex story, Submechanophobia, the first story in the book of the same name.
Physical Appearance[]
Hank, like all underwater animatronics in the Mechaquarium, is described as old and rundown, with chipped paint and rusted spots.
Despite its name, it is not described as a hammerhead shark. Hank is a plain grey in colour, and has a rust spot on its tail in the shape of a hammer. As its size isn't specifically called out, unlike Sly the Shark's and Mac the Muscle's, it can likely be assumed that Hank's size is somewhere inbetween theirs.
Personality[]
Hank does not have a described personality. It is only described as swimming slowly under normal conditions, like all other underwater animatronics.
History[]
The name 'Hank the Hammer', was chosen by Roy, an employee at Freddy's Fantasy Waterpark. Despite Hank's name, it is not described as a hammerhead shark, but instead was given the nickname 'the Hammer' because of the rusted spot on its tail that is in the shape of a hammer.
It is one of the many underwater animatronics in Freddy's Sea Life Mechaquarium, and like the rest of the park attractions, was left mostly uncared for during the park's several year closure. It was decided by Martin, the owner of the park, to not spend money on any renovations, meaning that Hank and the others, are still rusted and broken in places once the park reopens shortly after the opening of the Mega Pizzaplex a few towns over.
In the story Submechanophobia, Hank is the second of the animatronics to break down. When it breaks, it is compared to a dead fish, as its floating upside down in the middle of the Mechaquarium. Caden, the protagonist and animatronic technician, is required to swim under Hank to open the maintenance panel on its back, check for loose wires, and reset its motors. Once the motors are reset, Hank flails for a few moments, before going still again, and functions as normal once the power to the Mechaquarium is back on.
Hank, along with the rest of the underwater animatronics, appear in Caden's nightmare, swimming faster than normal and attacking the children that jump into the Mechaquarium. It body slams the children, before biting them, just like Sly the Shark and Mac the Muscle.
In the climax of the story, Hank swims around Martin to prevent his escape should he manage to break free from Zeus the Sea Dragon's tail.
