Funtime Freddy is a minor antagonist in Five Nights at Freddy's: The Fourth Closet.
Physical Appearance[]
Funtime Freddy is a sleek metal bear built like Freddy Fazbear. Standing at a height of six feet, he has a gleaming body painted white and accented with a vibrant purple. Funtime Freddy has a large head with a wide-eyed face, yellow eyes, two long rows of polished grinning white teeth, and two rosy cheeks colored bright cotton candy pink. On his chest, at the center of a purple metal shirtfront, is a small, round speaker. Funtime Freddy also has a white plastic plate on his chest cavity. He holds a microphone with a head like a shimmering disco ball. Unlike his game counterpart, Bon-Bon doesn't replace his right hand.
In the poster and graphic novel, Funtime Freddy appears similar to his game counterpart. His head appears to be squarish and less bulky than Withered Freddy's. Funtime Freddy has a purple color on his stomach, shoulders, elbows, knees, insides of his ears, cheeks, thighs, knuckles, palms, the circles on the back of his hands, the top areas of both feet, and the area lining his blue eyes. On the poster Funtime Freddy's accents are bright purple, but in the graphic novel they are mauve. He also has a black top hat lined with a purple stripe, a black bowtie right under his chin, and two black buttons on his stomach.
History[]
The Fourth Closet[]
Funtime Freddy is first seen at the start of Chapter 3, being activated by Baby and William Afton. William then opens the bear's chest cavity and pulls apart his wires. Funtime Freddy shuts down, and Baby gives William a syringe to collect remnant from the amalgamation. Opening his chest cavity again, William injects the remnant into the broken bear, putting him to "greater purpose." This reactivates Funtime Freddy, who looks down at William and Baby and tracks their subtlest movements.
Funtime Freddy later reappears in Chapter 12, hunting Carlton and Marla through a mirror maze with moving panels while taunting them in a shrieking voice. He initially cannot see the two, as they're wearing earpieces that hide them from the animatronics. Carlton accidently runs into a mirror and the earpiece gets knocked loose, allowing Freddy to see him. He picks Carlton up and throws him to the floor, but Carlton dodges his second attack and Marla helps him get his earpiece back. The two manage to escape the maze, and Carlton gives his earpiece to Jessica.
Later, Carlton crawls through "Hide-and-Seek Hallway," a colorful hall full of cubbyholes. He hears Funtime Freddy taunt him and sees a child-sized cubbyhole with a small, heart-shaped window near the top. Carlton sees the bear in the window, but before he can move the door breaks off its hinges and Freddy crawls out. Carlton is chased by the bear, who manages to grab his foot at some point, and he escapes through a vent and into a room with a large carnival ride with a ring of seats set on an angle and held together by huge metal arms on a spiral. Freddy enters the room and Carlton accidently runs into the ride, but then hides under it to dodge the bear as he lunges for him. Carlton makes his way around the tilted merry-go-round ride, eventually reaching the control panel with a large on/off lever. When Freddy goes deeper under the ride, Carlton squeezes out and pulls the lever, crushing Freddy. Scraps of metal and plastic are sent flying across the room, and when the ride stops half of his head, one-eyed and still grinning, falls out. The speaker from Freddy's now-smashed chest piece lays armless and legless nearby, and it says an automated goodbye before powering off.
Funtime Freddy uses his wires to hold himself together and pull himself along, becoming an entanglement of broken parts with is face mounted on the back. His remains return to William, surprising him. William is discouraged by the sight of the wrecked Freddy and damaged Funtime Foxy, commanding Freddy to get away and kicking him in the face. He obeys, sliding away without resistance. While William is preparing to kill a child and make him part of the amalgamation, Carlton helps the souls of the children remember who William really is. The tangle remains of Freddy gathers around William's ankles, grabbing and plucking at him. As the rest of the animatronics at Circus Baby's Pizza begin to attack William, Freddy sinks his jaw into his calf. In a burst of anger, William stomps down on the bear's head, breaking its jaw and dislodging its teeth from his leg. When the amalgamation pulls William into the furnace, Freddy stops moving, turning into lifeless scrap.
Trivia[]
- On the cover of The Fourth Closet, Funtime Freddy is strangely colored black and white, as opposed to his tints of purple and white.
- However, the book describes him as having purplish-white colors like his game-counterpart.
- Even stranger, this black and white Funtime Freddy is never seen in the book, similar to Nightmare on the cover of The Twisted Ones.
- In the Sister Location themed Office from Ultimate Custom Night, a Funtime Freddy head is shown in a lighting causing it to resemble the grey color of the head from the cover of The Fourth Closet.
- Strangely, when Funtime Freddy is destroyed by the carousel, it says that a yellow eye falls out. However, in the poster, he is seen with his usual blue eyes.
- Due to lacking his Bon-Bon hand puppet, as well as being said to have yellow eyes, it's possible he could be related to Yenndo from Sister Location.
