Freddy Fazbear is a titular antagonist in the Five Nights at Freddy's film. He is the lead vocalist and mascot of Freddy Fazbear's Pizza Place.
Freddy is portrayed via animatronic puppet effects provided by Jim Henson's Creature Shop, alternating between a stationary animatronic puppet and a full-body suit with an animatronic head. The body suit was performed by Kevin Foster, while the facial and animatronic controls were puppeteered by Artie Esposito.
Appearance[]
Freddy Fazbear remains largely the same as his appearance in the first game, though there are minor differences. He is a brown color with his muzzle, stomach and paw pads on his hands and feet being an orange color. His inner ears are a brown color. His top hat and bow tie are now made from fabric instead of molded plastic, much like Bonnie's bow tie. Freddy Fazbear's eyes now are a more vibrant blue color than the original baby blue. In his right hand he carries a microphone.
The Ghost Child who possesses Freddy, is shown to be a young boy wearing a white top hat with a black strap and has black hair. He wears a white t-shirt with red, yellow, and tan stripes and wears black straight pants.
Personality[]
Like his video game counterpart, Freddy is an animatronic who kills any security guard working the night shift. However, this isn't solely limited to people who are given the job to watch over the pizzeria, as he had no qualms with killing Max by luring her towards him and biting her in half. He also approached Mike Schmidt with hostility when he stopped him and the other animatronics from hurting Abby.
However, Freddy isn't a bad person and instead a very tragic individual; he was once an innocent child who had his life cut short by a man who abducted him, killed him and stuffed his corpse inside the pizzeria's titular mascot alongside his friends. It's also mentioned by Vanessa that he and his bandmates don't want to hurt anyone, as they are influenced by her father, William Afton, into committing all of their murders for him.
Despite this, Freddy is shown to be kind towards children. This is demonstrated through his relationship with Abby. Despite being manipulated by Afton into attempting to stuff her into an animatronic suit and kill her brother, Mike, he does genuinely care about her, coming to her defense when Mike approaches them and passively backs down when Abby tells him he’s her brother. Furthermore, Freddy hugs the girl before she leaves to go back into the office for the night, is seen extending his hand out towards her during her second visit to the pizzeria and participated in building a fort with her and the others.
History[]
For unknown certain amount of time, Freddy Fazbear killed several people under William Afton's control before Mike arrived as a security guard at Freddy's.
During Mike's first shift at Freddy's, as Mike explored the place, he was discovered by Mike whilst checking the animatronics behind the curtain on the show stage. After several minutes later when Mike fell asleep, the child appeared in his dream along with the other ghost children. When he was asked by Mike to as what happened to his younger brother, he and along with the other ghost children ran away from Mike.
Mike encountered again during his second shift during his second dream sequence, when Mike asked furiously who took Garrett, he and the other ghost children ran away from Mike again. Later, Vanessa Shelly showed Mike Freddy and the other animatronics because she wanted him to properly meet them.
After Mike's second shift, Freddy Fazbear and the other animatronics were activated after a group of criminals broke in. However, Freddy was the only one who wasn't spotted joining in the hunt. Instead, when Maxine entered a hallway, her attention was caught by the child, who ran to the Parts & Service room to lure her inside. Maxine followed him inside, but the child was nowhere to be found. Instead, Freddy was found, seemingly inactive, with his mouth wide open. Concerned, Maxine grabbed a small ladder stool and inspects his mouth to check inside for the child, only to be grabbed and pulled into Freddy's mouth. Freddy's jaw then closed, violently bisecting and killing Maxine, who's legs dropped to the ground with a thud.
During Mike's third shift, when Abby was in front of the show stage, Freddy Fazbear revealed himself and slowly approached Abby. A few minutes later, Freddy Fazbear and the fellow animatronics attempted to kidnap Abby, but were interrupted by Mike, who was trying to rescue her. Mike proceeded to grab a chair to defend himself, however he stopped dead in his tracks when Freddy met face-to-face with him, intimidated by the animatronic's angry glare. Abby then told Freddy that Mike is her brother, and he ceased to be hostile towards Mike. Before leaving the place, Abby gave Freddy Fazbear a hug, and he hugged her in return, before going back to the show stage after Mike and Abby left the place.
During Mike's fourth shift, Freddy and the fellow animatronics build a makeshift fort along with Mike, Vanessa, and Abby.
In the final dream sequence, when Mike ultimately refused to surrender Abby Schmidt to the ghost children, they began to retaliate and attack Mike, nearly killing him.
During Mike's fifth and final shift, Freddy Fazbear and Bonnie were performing on the show stage whilst Chica and Abby Schmidt went into the backroom. When Mike arrived and tried to go after Chica, Freddy almost spotted him, staring in his direction for several moments before continuing to perform. Mike grabbed a nearby bucket of water and spilled it on stage floor before firing his taser at the liquid, electrocuting Freddy and Bonnie and causing them to fall to the floor, briefly deactivated.
Moments later, after William Afton tells the animatronics to wake up because they have someone to play with, Freddy reactivated and joined the other animatronics under William Afton's control and tried to take Abby, but after Abby drew a picture for the animatronics - of William murdering him and his friends - the memories of their deaths returned, causing them to turn on Afton.
When the spring locks on Afton's suit failed, Freddy and the other animatronics watched him as he suffered and writhed in pain. Letting out a roar of fury, Freddy and the other animatronics began to drag the still writhing Afton to the back room as the Pizzeria collapsed around them.
It is uncertain at this time as to what might have happened to Freddy Fazbear along with the rest of the animatronics after Freddy Fazbear Pizza's Place internally collapsed.

Trivia[]
- For unknown reasons, Freddy's original actor Adam Hann-Byrd was replaced with Kevin Foster.
- Along with the other missing children, the soul inside Freddy can be seen in the trailer, standing between the kid possessing Foxy and the kid possessing Chica wearing a white hat.
- From the looks of the advertisements every character has a color they are assigned, with Freddy's being red.
- This is even more evident with the red strained glasses featuring Freddy and with the child having a red balloon in the opening credits.
- Interestingly enough, when Freddy Fazbear's eyes glow orange, his irises turn into a greenish hue.
