“The core location, introduced in Five Nights at Freddy's, is Freddy Fazbear's Pizza, famed for its singing animatronic mascots. Well, we say "famed" but "notorious" might be a better word.”
— Five Nights at Freddy's Official Character Encyclopedia, page 8
Freddy's is a family restaurant established in 1983 shortly before the closure of Fredbear's Family Diner, reminiscent of ShowBiz Pizza Place and Chuck E. Cheese's, in that Freddy Fazbear's Pizza provides entertainment via singing animatronic mascots.
The primary mascot and figurehead of Freddy Fazbear's Pizza is Freddy Fazbear himself, accompanied by his bandmates, consisting of Bonnie and Chica, all of whom are on the Show Stage, and a secondary character named Foxy, who remains decommissioned behind his curtain in Pirate Cove.
During the night, Freddy and the other animatronics come alive at night and are haunted by five children kidnapped and murdered by the company's co-founder, William Afton. This haunting only stops after the children witness Afton's death and are thus set free.
Golden Freddy - A mysterious and ghost-like entity who takes on the form of a yellow animatronic bear.
Endo-01 - A bare endoskeleton placed on the backstage of the pizzeria.
The Puppet - A marionette like animatronic. Previously used as a security system. During a cutscene on the second game, the Puppet can be seen in this pizzeria.

History[]
Backstory[]
“Welcome to Freddy Fazbear's Pizza. A magical place for kids and grown-ups alike, where fantasy and fun come to life. Fazbear Entertainment is not responsible for damage to property or person.”
— Ralph,Five Nights at Freddy's
According to Ralph in Five Nights at Freddy's 2, the original restaurant was named "Fredbear's Family Diner," presumably a local family restaurant, before being re-enfranchised as "Freddy Fazbear's Pizza." By the time the events of the second game occurred, the original restaurant and its owner, Henry Emily, have been gone for years.
According to several altered posters in the first game, an incident occurred when a man, dressed in a Spring Bonnie suit, lured two and eventually five kids presumed to be named Gabriel, Jeremy, Susie, Fritz, and Cassidy into the back of the Pizzeria and murdered them. The suspect was eventually caught, but in the end, neither the children nor their bodies were ever found. Due to this lack of evidence, the suspect was let go.
Five Nights at Freddy's[]
In the first game, which is estimated to take place in 1990s, the restaurant is actually set to be shut down later in the year; complaints to the Health Department about blood and mucus leaking from the suits, as well as a horrid odor, are allegedly the cause. Furthermore, business had been bad, and the management could not find a buyer for the pizzeria since no one cared to be associated with a restaurant where multiple children were murdered, giving them no other choice but to close the place down. Due to the incidents, the restaurant had been unable to earn a substantial amount of revenue. This resulted in the implementation of a power budget at night. It is also for these reasons that the establishment was forced to close down at the end of the year.
Five Nights at Freddy's 2[]
The second game takes place in 1987 in a different, bigger Freddy Fazbear's Pizza restaurant based years before the first game. The pizzeria from the first game also serves as the setting for a series of small end-of-night dream cutscenes.
Five Nights at Freddy's 3[]
While the events of Five Nights at Freddy's 3 is the first in the series to not take place in Freddy Fazbear's Pizza, the new setting, Fazbear's Fright, is designed to be a homage to the company and the horrific events that took place there, sporting many vintage decorations from the previous restaurants. The establishment from the first game, however, is seen in the form of the end-of-night minigames that are played between each night, which show the building to have long been abandoned.
During the minigames, Freddy Fazbear's Pizza is shown in a state of intense decay and disrepair. Rats are seen scurrying across the floor, the ceiling is leaking, and oil stains and other assorted garbage are strewn about. It is revealed on the map and through Ralph's recordings that there is a secret safe room for employees that doesn't appear on the security map or cameras, is inaccessible to customers, and is completely invisible to any of the animatronics, as shown by the error caused by trying to enter it during the minigame. However, due to budget restrictions, the safe rooms in all locations were locked up and sealed over with a false wall.
The safe room was the place of William Afton's demise, after bleeding to death in the Spring Bonnie springlock suit trying to hide from the vengeful spirits of the children he murdered. As nothing was removed from the safe rooms before the false wall was built, it is very likely that his corpse remained there until it was found by the employees at Fazbear's Fright.
Sister Location[]
While Freddy Fazbear's Pizza is never shown in Five Nights at Freddy's: Sister Location, it is revealed that the closing of Freddy Fazbear's Pizza has led to the opening of Circus Baby's Entertainment and Rental mentioned by HandUnit.
“Allow me to fill this somewhat frightening silence with some lighthearted banter. Due to the massive success, and, even more so, the unfortunate closing of Freddy Fazbear's Pizza, it was clear that the stage was set, no pun intended, for another contender in children's entertainment.”
Currently, there have been three known closings of Freddy Fazbear's Pizza: the first from before Five Nights at Freddy's took place, the second from Five Nights at Freddy's 2, and the final closing shortly after the events of the first game, so it's quite unclear which pizzeria HandUnit was mentioning.
Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria Simulator[]
Bait and switch intro of the game, aswell as the Security Puppet's minigame take place in the original Freddy Fazbear's Pizza. Cam 2A (West Hall) is also briefly visible on the terminal during the completion ending speech.
Ultimate Custom Night[]
The main game takes place in a nightmarish/warpped version of the Original/FNaF 1 Freddy's.
Help Wanted[]
The original version of Freddy Fazbear's Pizza returns as a digital recreation with in The Freddy Fazbear Virtual Experience. The player can see it within all of the FNAF 1 levels, and (presumably) all of the Parts and Service levels. All of the known rooms from the first game can be seen, including the Kitchen.
Security Breach[]
The digital recreation of Freddy Fazbear's Pizza seen in Help Wanted briefly appears in the Princess Quest 3 arcade machine. The game also features FNaF 1 Freddy's inspired golf course inside the AR-Cade.
Help Wanted 2[]
"Fazcade" folder featured a "FNAF 1" themed Fazerblast minigame.
Secret of The Mimic[]
MCM's Research and Development floor houses an early mockup of Freddy Fazbear's Pizza. The "building" features unfinished prototypes of the classic animatronics, as well as rejected Fredbear/Spring Bonnie prototypes and 2 springlock suits of characters that presumably were meant to be features at Freddy's.
The only animatronics that are shown in the pizzeria in physical and supernatural form are the Classic Animatronics and Golden Freddy.
Freddy Fazbear's Pizza is reminiscent of, and is possibly inspired by, Chuck E. Cheese's, a real-life family entertainment center that also sells pizza, caters parties, and features an animatronic band of singing mascots, called (Munch's Make-Believe Band).
Five Nights at Freddy's takes place in an unknown year within the week of November 8th to November 13th, according to Mike Schmidt's paycheck. The likely possibility is that the game takes place in the 1990s, due to the minimum wage being around $4-5 an hour (when taking taxes into account) during that period.
The camera map of the pizzeria. Note the apparent lack of a visible entrance on the Monitor.
Unlike surveillance systems used in most other establishments, Freddy Fazbear's Pizza doesn't have a camera view of the entrance, nor is it seen on the map.
In the Five Nights at Freddy's gameplay video Scott uploaded to his YouTube channel, the East Hall was originally called Backstage, and the East Hall Corner was labelled as "W. Hall Corner" (as was the actual West Hall Corner). The latter may have just been a typo, as it was merely a letter off and still on the east side of the building.
Apparently, Freddy Fazbear's Pizza is actually a restaurant chain, meaning that there are likely other locations of the restaurant sporting similar animatronics. This is evident in the third game's phone calls from the Night 4, in which Ralph states "After learning of an unfortunate incident at a sister location…", and the sixth night in which Ralph states "…the previously mentioned safe rooms are being sealed at most locations, including this one."
This is also supported in the news article at the end of the sixth night, saying "A new local attraction based on an ancient pizzeria chain burned down overnight."
On Steam, Scott has posted the reason as to why Freddy Fazbear's Pizza hasn't been established as a real-life restaurant, and why he never intends on doing so.[3]
Five Nights at Freddy's 3[]
While the layout of the establishment in the minigames is very much modeled after the original game's location, there are a few differences:
There are plus-shaped walls scattered all throughout the Dining Area. However, this is likely to keep consistent with the usual feel of the minigames and to clearly define the exits/entrances of a room.
The latter lack of entrances incidentally maintains the unviewability of the Kitchen from the first game.
Five Nights at Freddy's: Help Wanted[]
East/West Halls in the main hub feature an exit sign above them.
Five Nights at Freddy's: The Week Before[]
The Parts & Services room is notably behind the stage, rather than to the side of it.
A Breaker Room is present backstage as well.
While crawling through the vents, Ralph finds many dusty rooms on the west side of the restaurant that were either closed off for years or abandoned during construction.[4]
Ralph also mentions how the large amount of rooms seen in the pizzeria, including party rooms and the main entrance, aren't seen on the map, due to the surveillance system being split between 3 monitors (with 2 of them being broken).[5]
There is a crawlspace under the stage where the batteries for the animatronics' charging plates, which are metal plates in their respective spots, is held. They are powered by multiple switches.
During the events of the book, Ralph finds an old Freddy's night guard's recording made almost 12 years ago, not long after his daughter was born. This implies that The Week Before and Five Nights at Freddy's take place in 1995 at the minimum.
However, the canonicity of the page is questionable, since there is no way to access it without cheating. It also has a continuity error with Ralph mentioning that his daughter had never gone to Freddy's, but later in the book, he mentions that she went there for her seventh birthday.
Secret of The Mimic[]
Freddy's originally in its concept stages was purely meant to use springlock suits instead of regular animatronics.
Additionally two more characters (Monty and Bub) were planned to be a part of the band.
