The Steel Wool series is the successor to the original Scott Games series, created by Scott Cawthon and Steel Wool Studios. The series debuted on May 28, 2019 with the release of Five Nights at Freddy's: Help Wanted.

The series was made using Unreal Engine 4, with most games in the series being made for virtual-reality.
