The demo version of Five Nights at Freddy's: Secret of the Mimic was released as a time-limited VR demo at PAX West, featuring Jackie. The demo at PAX West used the PlayStation VR2 and a non-VR standard version of the demo was presented for Day of the Devs at Fantastic Fest 2024.
Gameplay[]
The demo had two levels, that are allegedly named "Managers Office" and "The Chase."
Managers Office[]
The player is put in the manager's office of a toy factory; one of the walls in the room is broken, which takes the player to a small room where the player finds and winds a music box that was seen in the Secret of the Mimic teaser; a Jack in the Box character, named Jackie, is revealed. The player then takes a crank to open a door in the office; once opened, it leads to a hallway leading to a mail room with S.T.A.F.F. Bots sorting the mail. The player then finds a generator that connects to a door; the player must pull a starter cord to turn on the generator. As the generator activates, Jackie enters and trashes the room. The door then opens, and the player must try to hide in a vent, but it breaks under the player, ending the level.
The Chase[]
Beginning after the events of the last level, the player ends up in a deeper part of the factory. Jackie is trailing the player until they get to an elevator, which, when activated, will start the chase. During the chase, the player must crouch through vents and pull leavers; Jackie's hands can also be seen slamming on the walls to the right and left of the player. The player escapes from Jackie through a hole in the floor. The player then climbs through a vent while listening to a music box remix heard in the Secret of the Mimic teaser. The level and demo end with Jackie finding the player in the vent, grabbing them, and then the vent falling again.
