Five Nights at Freddy's Wiki

Thanks for being a part of the Fazbear team! Dispatch out.
Dispatch to Arnold, Five Nights at Freddy's: Secret of the Mimic

Dispatch is the tritagonist of Five Nights at Freddy's: Secret of the Mimic.

Physical Appearance[]

Dispatch lacks any direct or mentioned physical appearance, only heard as his voice through a radio intercom system in the security room.

Personality[]

Little of Dispatch's actual personality is observed in-game, as his communications signal to Arnold is lost around the time of the game's opening act, and he is instead impersonated by a robot mimicking his voice in an attempt to control Arnold. However, he appears to share the cold, sardonic, and relatively indifferent nature of Fazbear Entertainment itself. In the opening cutscene, he does not show any empathy or concern for Arnold's well-being and simply orders him to enter the MCM facility in order to retrieve their property. In the "Clock Out" ending, he directly threatens Arnold with legal action and fires him from his job when it is found that he had not retrieved the Fazbear Entertainment property as intended.

History[]

As Dispatch is ostensibly Arnold's superior, it can be inferred that he has been employed at Fazbear Entertainment, Inc. for a longer period of time than Arnold has been.

Despite Arnold being subjected to poor working conditions by Fazbear, Dispatch displays no empathy whatsoever. In fact, when Dispatch re-establishes contact with Arnold after many hours, knowing that there is some entity moving around in Murray's Costume Manor via the motion sensors, he callously disregards Arnold's protestations and callously tells him that he's fired from Fazbear Entertainment for "misplacing company property".[1] Additionally, in the opening part of the game, he claims that someone is "down $20", upon finding out Arnold made it safely inside. Thus proving Dispatch may either be participating, or simply in knowledge of, other Fazbear Entertainment superiors placing bets and wagering on Arnold. Despite brushing it off and mentioning the immorality of such an act.

Speculation and Theories[]

WitheredChica-Icon "I was the first! I have seen everything!"

This section archives a lot of theories and speculation, which usually occurs from pre-release media, or just things that are still unknown, so please keep that in mind while reading. The page will continue to be updated with the most accurate information as more solid evidence is supplied.

  • Throughout the game, Dispatch doesn’t seem to listen to Arnold directly. Although, he occasionally will, like in the opening cutscene when Dispatch agrees with Arnold, upon the latter noticing nobody was inside, it's likely Dispatch may actually be an automated response machine. Given Fazbear Entertainment's forceful attempts for employees to remain happy and agreeable, it's likely that some lines are automated, and some are not, to keep a positive and happy environment. This could also explain Dispatch's change in tone near the end. However, this has not been confirmed.

Trivia[]

  • Andy Field's delivery of Dispatch is very similar to those of HandUnit and Dread Unit, although with a distinctly more human tone for the first half of the game. In fact, due to the chronology of the game it is entirely possible that this character was the one that provided his voice to the Units themselves.
  • At some point in the game, after an intermission disruption, Dispatch's delivery changes from his typical cynical bullying tone to a more soothing, robotic tone to signify when in the story F10-N4 intercepts him.

Audio Transcript
"Arnold. Hey buddy, this is dispatch with Fazbear Entertainment. How are you feeling?"
"Awesome to hear. Well, listen, we need you to take one more shift for us since you're our closet technician in the area."
"I know, the grind is exhilarating, isn't it? And we're so happy to have you on the Fazbear team!"
"You can't fool me, though. You're just trying to snag one of those $25 gift certificates at the end of the year for outstanding performance!"
"Ha! I love that enthusiasm! So, anyway, this will be a piece of cake."
"We had this contractor named Edwin Murray. He was developing some tech for us, but he's gone quiet."
"As per his contract, everything he's been working on for us is now legally ours. So we're sending you in to get it."
"Our motion sensors indicate that someone's still in the building moving around. Although, the signal is a bit erratic. But we don't expect any kind of confrontation."
"We'll follow up with more instructions soon. For now, just follows these directions and find your way into that building."
"Amazing. Thanks for being a part of the Fazbear team! Dispatch out."
"Good job."
"I'm sure you're right. Those motion sensors never tell the truth."
"To access the building, you've been provided with a Data Diver tool."
"Kinda looks like a walkie-talkie with two prongs sticking out of the top."
"Look around you."
"It should be in the van. Richie slipped it into your toolbox during the last job. Just in case."
"Check your toolbox."
"Gotta be there somewhere, keep looking."
"Just... pick it up, when you find it."
"Not a promising start."
"Good job, well done!"
"That Data Diver is your master key to the MCM facility. Do not lose it."
"Now get in there, and retrieve our property!"
"Over and out."
"If you're there, pick up."
"Just follow the soothing sound of my voice."
"Ay, you made it! I knew you would."
"No one doubted you for a second, and those who did are now out $20."
"Not that anyone here at Fazbear Entertainment was wagering if you would survive or not."
"I mean, how immoral would that be? But seriously, great job."
"Now that you're there, and it would be very difficult for you to turn back, I should probably level with you a little."
"We're still detecting movement in the building that you're in, and we have a little bit of an idea as to what it might be."
"Ol' Murray made some neat stuff over the years, and unfortunately, it seems that one of his most creative inventions may have encountered some... homicidal glitches in its programming."
"These things happen, and I'm sure it's nothing to worry about, but you should probably worry about it."
"He was working on an endoskeleton that can adapt to any costume or character, large or small, with the ability to take on the persona of the character it occupies."
"With the addition of the aforementioned homicidal tendencies, of course."
"We'll be working on some ideas on how to neutralize this rogue endoskeleton. But in the meantime, just try to quiet, careful, and focused on the task at hand."
"Always being mindful of the fact that this... entity, could potentially be inside any costume or character that you see."
"Alright, take a deep breath and get back in there. Finish the job, and that $25 gift certificate is as good as yours!"
"Right now, you should focus on finding a way to turn the power back on."
"It looks like you don't have a security level high enough to leave this office, or enter the power room for that matter."
"Use that Data Diver upgrade machine. It should give you clearance to open the door."
"Oh good! You found the upgrade station for the Data Diver. You'll need it to reach the different areas in the complex."

Said only if the player obtains Security permission before Dispatch tells them about the Upgrade Station.

"It's very important that you update the Data Diver whenever you find an access station. This is not optional."
"Now go find that power room."
"Arnold, pick up. Over."
"Check, check, check. Testing. Testing. one, two, three."
"Great news! Power has been restored to this wing of the building. Overhead paging works."
"Come on back to the security office for further instructions."
"Oh and, try to be careful along the way. We are seeing some strange reading in the area."
"You haven't seen anything unusual yet, have you?"
"Great! Head back to the security office and I'll give you more instructions on what exactly we need you to retrieve for us."
"Arnold, can you hear me?"
"If you can hear me pick up."
"I need you in the security office."
"Please report to the security office."
"Arnie, buddy. Check in when you have a chance."
"Respond, over."
"Please respond, over."
"That was quick."
"So, let's talk about what you're there to find."
"Obviously, this possibly murderous endoskeleton has encountered some unfortunate glitches, but that doesn't mean the idea isn't sound or valuable."
"We think that endoskeleton has a lot of potential, and that's why we want you to retrieve Murray's original schematic for it."
"And after you find that schematic for us, we can certainly try to maybe find a way to probably save your life from it."
"If that's not incentive enough to find the schematic, then I don't know what is!"
"Get that schematic, and with some luck, you can deactivate that endoskeleton and collect it for us as well."
"I can just smell that $25 gift certificate, can't you?"
"You need to reach Murray's executive suite, that's where the schematic most likely is."
"Your Data Diver doesn't have executive permission yet, so you can't get anywhere near it."
"Not a problem, we just need to find stations to upgrade your Data Diver until you can gain access."
"They're all over the facility, in fact, there's a station up in the warehouse managers office. You should head there next."
"Before you go, take a hand crank for the security fence."
"Looks like you can get one from the inventory tube system."
"That's the big machine in the security office. It should be active... now."
"Now... what are you waiting for? Keep on truckin'!"
"Arnold? There you are!"
"We've been trying to get ahold of you all night."
"Why didn't you answer?"
"Fazbear Entertainment has no other option but to let you go."
"So you admit it? You misplaced company property?"
"Fazbear Entertainment will hold you personally responsible for lost or stolen property."
"What did you expect would happen?"
"Don't call us, our lawyers will be calling you."
"Arnold, you there?"
CUT DIALOGUE
"Arnold, wake up."
CUT DIALOGUE
"BZZT! Wake up!"
CUT DIALOGUE
"Good morning, sleepy head. Time for your next shift!"
CUT DIALOGUE
"That's great! Glad you're taking some time for yourself. You deserve it!"
CUT DIALOGUE
"Listen, this next job is a little hush hush, if you know what I mean, and we need you on it ASAP."
CUT DIALOGUE
"Now don't you worry, we've already informed your friends and family that you're going on vacation for a few weeks."
CUT DIALOGUE
"Awesome, well done! Family's important to us here at Fazbear Entertainment."
CUT DIALOGUE
"Now, here's the deal. We've done business with several trusted partners over the years. One of our most important is MCM. Murray's Costume Manor."
CUT DIALOGUE
"The names a little misleading."
CUT DIALOGUE
"They've created several suits and mascots for us, yes, but they also specialize in animatronic design and construction!"
CUT DIALOGUE
"As a Fazbear technician, you should be familiar with their work."
CUT DIALOGUE
"Murray's been working on a custom endoskeleton for our new restaurant project."
CUT DIALOGUE
"Everything was going great until... how do I put this- they ghosted us."
CUT DIALOGUE
"We haven't heard from them in quite some time, so, of course, we were concerned about our investment."
CUT DIALOGUE
"And the people. Them too. Worried about the people."
CUT DIALOGUE
"I'm sure they're fine."
CUT DIALOGUE
" Now, they forced our hand."
CUT DIALOGUE
"As per section 13.071 of their contract, they are in breach and have forfeited their rights to everything relating to the project."
CUT DIALOGUE
"That's where you come in! Retrieve our property. Straightforward and simple!"
CUT DIALOGUE
"Got it? Good."
CUT DIALOGUE
"Not to worry, here's some company approved music to keep you engaged while you drive!"
CUT DIALOGUE
"And as per section 9.041 of your contract, if you don't retrieve our property in a timely manner."
CUT DIALOGUE
"You'll be fired and legally bound to reimburse us for all expenses, including your accrued income."
CUT DIALOGUE
"And better news, the motion sensors are now active!"
CUT DIALOGUE?
"Oh, well that is strange... Nothing to worry about. Just come back to the security office for further instruction."
CUT DIALOGUE?
"Make it quick."
CUT DIALOGUE?
