The Data Diver is a tool that will be used in the upcoming game, Five Nights at Freddy's: Secret of the Mimic. As seen in the gameplay trailer, it will be used to access terminals in Murray's Costume Manor. Whether it has other uses is currently unknown.

Appearance[]

In appearance, the Data Diver is very similar to the Faz-Wrench in build, having a nearly identical form factor, but with a grey and dirty white color scheme and an overall more "retro" appearance. The Data Diver also has what seems to be a touchpad display with various symbols, including a checkmark, a shield, a diamond, an icon that heavily resembles the symbol used to represent Wi-Fi, 3 descending lines, and a star.

Functionality[]

While the full extent of the Data Diver's function is not currently known, it will be used to interact with what can be assumed to be multiple terminals around Murray's Costume Manor. In the gameplay trailer, the player can be seen inserting it into a terminal, which brings up a screen with only one accessible option, "Reset Welcome Show." The button for this option features the diamond symbol from the Data Diver's touchpad. The second option appears to be blocked, reading "MISSING: EXECUTIVE ACCESS." The star icon from the Data Diver can be seen on this option. It is likely players will need to "unlock" each function of the Data Diver in order to access every function of the terminals.

Speculation and Theory[]

The diamond symbol can also be seen on a device next to the security doors seen in the gameplay trailer. It is possible the Data Diver will also allow access to different areas of the Costume Manor, similar to the Faz-Wrench. It is possible different doors will have different symbols, requiring players to have the correct option unlocked.
Due to Five Nights at Freddy's: Secret of the Mimic's place in the timeline, it is highly likely the Faz-Wrench is based on the Data Diver.
