“What's your name? Cat got your tongue? No need to answer, doesn't matter and I don't care.” |
Carnie is an animatronic appearing in Five Nights at Freddy's: Help Wanted 2 that serves as both the announcer and minor antagonist in the Fazerblast levels.
Appearance[]
Carnie is a russet brown colored bear that appears similar to Rockstar Freddy and Lefty. He has tan highlights on the inside of his ears, the top half of his snout, and his toes. He has a black nose that is larger than his similar counterparts. Carnie has bright yellow eyes with maroon eyelids, and human-like incisors. He sports a blue top hat, and a green and white striped vest. He wears a bowtie of the same blue hue, which also colors his kneecaps.
Burnt[]
After the events of the "FNaF 2" themed Fazerblast level, due to the fire that concludes it, Carnie will appear burnt in the "FNaF 3" themed Fazerblast level. This version's only unique difference is the severe scorch marks and ash on him that discolor his casing.
Personality[]
Carnie acts like a stereotypical "carnival carnie" with a boisterous attitude. He largely has a sense of humor, usually giving snide remarks when correcting the player if they do something wrong. He speaks loudly with an encouraging vitality.
Despite the sass, Carnie finds the player's lonely demeanor saddening, and encourages them to play Fazerblast with the family.
History[]
Carnie appears as an announcer to the player's right in all five Fazerblast levels. He watches as the player plays the game, remaining complacent for the most part. However, if the player has a low score, Carnie will come out of his booth and jumpscare the player. In both the Western and FNAF 2 levels, Carnie interferes with the game under the guise of "gifts" for the player. In reality, these are obstacles, with PlushBabies being introduced in the Western level and the player's score meter being held down by cutouts of the Puppet's arms in the FNAF 2 level.
Alternatively, the player can unlock the FNAF 3 level by shooting secret rockets in the Space, Western and FNAF 1 levels, and then destroy the balloon recreations of the animatronics in the FNAF 2 level. This causes a chain reaction that sets Fazerblast on fire, including Carnie, who reacts in terror as he burns. By the time the fire is out in the FNAF 3 level, Carnie has been burnt and is completely deactivated.

"The opposite of effective."
"Can't knock that one over with the zap gun."

"Hold on, I'm on fire! I'm on fire!"
"Whoa, watch where you're pointing those things."
"You're here by yourself? How sad."
"That there is a fire hazard."
"Hey, sharpshooter! I got you a little gift."
"Back again to test your skill? Well, here's another one from the vault."
"Just pick up that dart gun and get to shooting."
"What are you waiting for? Shoot the target."
"Wow, this is going to be tough for you, ain't it?"
"Just pick up a ball and toss it."
"Toss it at the target."
"Come on, the ball is in the basket. Are you unfamiliar with the concept of ball toss?"
"Hit those targets with the balls."
"Shoot those balloons."
"Another winner! Go get your prize."
"Look, this is the last time. There's nothing left. The final challenge."

Trivia[]
- Carnie is referred to as "BarkerBear" in the files of Help Wanted 2.
- When Carnie was first shown on the steam page for Help Wanted 2, some people speculated his name would be "Righty" due to how he shares the same base model as Lefty.
- Carnie is shown to be "aware", noticing his surroundings turn ablaze in the "FNaF 2" Fazerblast level. Not before he himself is caught on fire, turning him into his "Burned" variant as seen in the final level.
- If accords to "Fall Fest" as it is viewed in both Help Wanted games, Carnie is possibly one of the oldest animatronics, being made long before Fredbear and Spring Bonnie.
