Bonnie, also known as Bonnie the Bunny, is one of the animatronics in the Five Nights at Freddy's novel trilogy. He is an alternate counterpart of Bonnie from the original Five Nights at Freddy's series and is the guitarist of Freddy Fazbear's Pizza created by Henry Emily. He appears an antagonist and supporting character in the first two novels respectively.

Physical Appearance[]

Bonnie's appearance is similar to his game counterpart, being a life-size animatronic rabbit about the size of an adult. His body is segmented like an artist’s model, with each limb made of distinct, squarish pieces, separate at the joints. Bonnie’s has a bright blue fur, a squared-off muzzle with a permanent smile, and wide and chipped pink glass eyes. He also has long ears, large blue paws and feet, and a wide, square face. Bonnie holds a red bass guitar, and around his neck is a bow tie that matches the instrument’s color. A bolt anchors him to the stage.

In The Twisted Ones, Bonnie appears more withered and dirty, as his blue fur is stained and matted. He still holds a red bass guitar in his hand, though it is battered and broken. Half of Bonnie’s bright red bow tie has torn off, giving his face a lopsided look.[1]

History[]

The Silver Eyes[]

Bonnie is first mentioned by Jessica in Chapter 1, reminiscing about how she used to talk to the rabbit about her problems, because he had an understanding look to him.

In Chapter 2, when Charlie and the group visit Freddy's, Bonnie is seen along with Freddy and Chica. Bonnie appears again in the second visit.

In the third visit, however, him and the animatronics start to haywire leading them to escape the stage.

When the group comes back to save Carlton, Bonnie chases Charlie to the bathroom, but Charlie manages to escape.

When Bonnie and the other three animatronics are about to kill Charlie and the group, they are stopped by Golden Freddy.

The Twisted Ones[]

Like the rest of his fellow animatronics, Bonnie is first seen deactivated in Clay Burke's boiler room. John, Jessica, and Clay Burke arrive at Clay's home to ask the animatronics help to save Charlotte from the clutches of William Afton and his twisted abominations. However, Bonnie and others don't respond at first, that is until John mentions "William Afton." At the sight of hearing that name, the original animatronics, excluding Golden Freddy, go berserk and immediately take off to search for their long-awaited nemesis.

Later on, when the friends are cornered by Twisted Freddy, Twisted Bonnie, and Twisted Wolf in Afton's hideout, Bonnie manages to arrive in time. He and Chica then fight against Twisted Bonnie, working together to dismantle the imposter and turn him into scrap metal for good. However, when Charlie's house collapses, Bonnie strangely disappears along with the rest of the animatronics.

The Fourth Closet[]

Main Article: Amalgamation

Bonnie himself doesn't appear in the third novel, but alongside his animatronic companions, his endoskeleton was melded into an amalgamation, a source of remnant for William Afton.

Trivia[]

  • Unlike his game counterpart, Bonnie in the novels is described to be bright blue in color.
  • For some odd reason, on the cover of Graphic Novel 1: The Silver Eyes, he is unknowingly purple.
  • Bonnie uses the same coloring he has in the novel trilogy in Five Nights at Freddy's VR: Help Wanted.
  • Strangely enough, he does not appear during the fight sequence with the rest of the animatronics fighting the twisted animatronics in the graphic novel of the Twisted Ones, although he is mentioned by Jessica.
    • It's possible that he was there during the fighting sequence and wasn't seen for unknown reasons.
