“Once I made the decision, the rest of it was out of my control. I think I made a decision like that today with that Bunny Call.” |
Bob Mackenzie is the protagonist of Bunny Call, the first story in the book of the same name. He is a frustrated father who, after being dragged to a summer camp for a week, signs up for a mean prank the camp offers.
Physical Appearance[]
After twelve years of marriage, Bob has thinning, graying short hair, soft jowls, tired dark brown eyes, and his lips are usually clamped into a downward curve. He loses his muscular build as he is unable to work out. Bob's eyebrows also get bushy.
Back in high school, Bob was a jock. He had long thick black hair, a sharp jawline, mischievous eyes, and a wide, carefree grin.
Personality[]
Bob is rather introverted, wanting time to himself and desiring relaxation, peace, and quiet. He also likes doing things either in solitude or with his wife, Wanda. Bob knows a good deal about form, function, energy, and landscape. He often has a sense about when land and nature welcomes a structure or doesn’t. Bob hates following schedules and lists, and feeling overwhelmed by his obligations. While he loves his family, he also feels he has no control over his life and becomes frustrated and resentful. Bob tries restraining his aggression with sarcasm and dry humor, which doesn’t usually land. He is instead soothed by memories of his childhood and the sounds of nature. Bob's pessimism and anger makes him act rather selfish and childish, clouding his better judgment. He's initially delighted and pleased to have signed up for the Bunny Call, but later feels guilty and is riddled with anxiety. After successfully defending his family, Bob has a renewed happiness and love for his family.
History[]
Years before the current events of the story, Bob fell in love with Wanda when they were seniors in high school. He would then later have three kids with her.
