“Did you think I would be less disturbed when I woke up and found him missing?” |
Betty Burke is the district attorney for Washington County, Utah[1]. She is Clay's wife and the mother of Carlton Burke. She appears in Five Nights at Freddy's: The Silver Eyes.
Physical Appearance[]
In the morning scene after Carlton's disappearance, Betty has shellacked blonde hair and wears a gray skirt suit.
Personality[]
Betty is a caring and loving mother, as Carlton talks to her more than his father.
History[]
The Silver Eyes[]
Betty appears in Chapter 8. She gets angry at her husband after learning that Carlton went missing at Freddy Fazbear's Pizza. The two start to argue. Betty tells Clay that he ought to know better, as Carlton wouldn't joke about Freddy's as he was left traumatized because his best friend, Michael Brooks, was murdered there in the missing children incident. Betty tells Clay to get someone to find Carlton right away, leading him to send Officer Dunn over to Freddy's.
The Twisted Ones[]
Betty doesn't make an appearance in the novel, as it's revealed by Clay that she left him.

Betty and Clay arguing, Graphic Novel #2: The Twisted Ones.
They decided it would be best for Carlton to leave Hurricane for a while, so Betty took him to stay with her sister for a while. Betty eventually noticed something wrong with Clay, and a few weeks later, she discovered him with the rest of the animatronics from the pizzeria. Upon discovering what her husband has done, she engages in a heated argument with him. She accuses him of being obsessed with the missing children's case, while he claims it's because of a passion they share for their work and it's something that they "love about each other." She disagrees, stating that his current behavior is different and worries her. Clay dismisses her concerns, and both ended up in different terms.[2] The next morning, Betty left the house and never returned.
Trivia[]
- It is assumed that Betty may have filed for a divorce since she never returned home, however this is unknown.
- In real life, Utah has county attorneys instead of district attorneys. Since they are equivalent, district attorney is probably used to better convey Betty's job to the characters and/or readers, who are likely more familiar with the term.
- Betty replaces Eric A. Ludlow for the position, who was the real life country attorney at the time the novel trilogy takes place.
